I am! I did it last year and I managed to get 50k, though this year I'm going to be doubly busy so we'll see how it goes. I haven't decided on my novel plot yet either.

I am! At first I wasn't sure, because I was trying to finish my novel from last year's NaNo, and NaNo is great for starting stories but not as good for finishing them and I didn't have any new story ideas, but then something popped up in my head, so I'm definitely doing NaNoWriMo this year! Still not sure if I should finish the old story or start the new one, though... Maybe I should try to do both?

I know I am, but am not going to be old enough to have an adult account. (My birthday is in November! So close!!) I'm on YWP, and because I have what seems to be extra school and karate now, I'm not even going to try for 50,000. My first year I got to 20,000 and the next year was 25,000. This year, I want to get to 30,000 at least, but if I can't then I want to get to at least as much as last year. I'm truemi on YWP, by the way.

I am! It is my first time and I am quite nervous, but I am going to do it!

I am Magic Dragon on there, by the way.

I'm considering it, but I've never done it . I don't get it. Can someone please explain ? I checked out the website but it doesn't make much sense to me.

NaNoWriMo stands for National Novel Writing Month, which takes place in November. It's when you attempt to write a novel in one month. By the end of the month the novel doesn't have to be completed, you merely are striving for a word goal. On the adult site, NaNoWriMo (13 and up) the word goal is 50,000. On the kids site, YWP (12 and under) the goal is 30,000.

It's a really cool and fun event, just meant to get you to finally put pen to paper for that novel you're constantly thinking about, but have never written. It's a lot of work, thorougly mentally exhausting, stressful, and about one of the best things I've ever done. I loved it! It really helps make you strive toward your goal, and really forget your inner editor, and just let the story flow.

I know a lot of CBers are on NaNo and YWP (myself included, I'm on both) but I'm not sure how many are going for it this year. I think at least a great many will try. I'm going for it, and I'll use basically every minute I'm not doing school or dance to write. I'm really looking forwar to it cause I'm breaking out with a fresh novel idea. (Of which  I haven't decided.) So we'll see how this goes.

Anyway Indigo, that basically summerizes NaNoWriMo (I think it does, please people feel free to add if I missed something). It's really fun, and just a cool way to finally write your novel.

I am debating if I should do it or not.

I'm doing it! I'm going to try for 60,000 this year. I'm going to try and keep making my goals higher until someday hopefully I'll be able to do 100,000

I'm knightofdawn277 on there btw.

Indigo, basically the idea is that you write a novel in a month. To accomplish this, you'll set a word count goal, say 30,000. That's about 50 pages. And then you write that. In a month. On the NaNoWriMo sites, there are forums and things, but really all there is to it is writing. It's fun and helps with motivation and just getting that first draft out there. If you have any questions, I'd love to answer them.

I'm doing nanowrimo! I;m S.E. I did the word calculator thing and it said I need a goal of 93,000. Nope. I'm going for 35.000 since this is my first time.

Admin, whenever I write my nano username it is deleted/changed but it isn't for others. Is that becuse someone different is checking it, or what?

It may be. We do allow usernames for nano. Try again. I'm on all weekend (although I'll be away most of Saturday, but I'll post comments in the evening).

I'm going to do it again this year, even though I don't actually know how much time I'll have to do it. I'm also not sure of my story, but I'll figure it out; it's part of the fun!

I'm dancingshoes on both the ywp and adult Nano sites.

That does not sound like something for me. I am a worrier, and I get stressed out and frustrated easily. I love writing, but that sounds too stressful. And I'm already writing "that novel."
