Chatterbox: Down to Earth

SO, like Young

SO, like Young Writer, Everinne's post got me thinking. So, how 'bout we all work together to try to make the CB more like the peaceful place it used to be before?

We should have more conversations about the world around us or about us instead of random exploding pig conversations, no offense to any one but all of this random stuff is starting to get on my nerves.

OKAY!! Since plenty of us seem interested, let's start a CBIC! Or, a Chatterbox Improvement Community. And, S.E is right. It won't seem the same, not without Red and Melody and all those wonderful oldies. So, we are simply going to try and put a litle less nonsense onto the CB, and more well meaning and thoughtful posts. It isn't exactly like trying to make it old again, we are just going to improve it. Can someone think of a pledge? And, we will NOT completely eliminate nonsense and fun, they will only be kept to certain threads. Also, if everything results in arguing, we will stop. So, who agrees?

Admins; Do you think this is a good idea?

Yes, I do.

I think because the age of the people on here is getting younger, the posts and stuff are less mature and more crazy. A lot of the older people are leaving so the Cb is kinda... Getting younger? You know what I mean?

I definitely agree! I think that some of us are trying too hard to change it up when it's already perfect just the way it is. Let's try to bring back the old CB!

Yes!!! I think you are all right. I know it won't be the same old Chatterbox, but I know this can happen. We're all the same at heart, all readers and writers, and the old CB was the same way, just with a little less... craziness. Not to say it had none at all- I remember some threads where we had "wars" (it was something longer than that, but that's all I can remember), and we still had a lot of fun, so let's bring back the old CB!!!

I think you're referring to the old World Domination threads.

Hey guys! Will here. This is the first time I've been on 'down to earth.' What kind of...erm...procedure does this go by? Like, inkwell is stories, etc.

Down to Earth is the place to ask questions and talk about any topics that interest you, such as world affairs, school, the environment, nature, sports, etc., other than the Arts (Pudding's Place), Books (Blab About Books), This Months' Cricket (This Month), and Writing (Inkwell). Chirp at Cricket would be for comments about the bugs and magazines.

Oh yes! I miss the Old CB! When Crowd Sorcery started, a whole bunch of Newbies came in. I was like great, this is so cool! But I think things like, Alter Egos, and such, just got out of hand. I'm not saying the Newbies are bad or anything, I just... I don't know, miss the Old CB. The CB, used to be a place where you post your thoughts, write your stories, read comments, collaborate, be silly, have fun, be yourself. Now, I feel like there is sort of a...a..., pressure, of what you're supposed to be. I get enough of that in real life. I'm sorry if I'm offending anyone, I'm just saying the truth. Sorry if this is too harsh, it needed to be said.

I love this idea!!  I never really got into alter egos anyway.

So I think we should still keep a little of the new CB:

RECIPE FOR PERFECT (or almost; no one would come on if it was perfect) CHATTERBOX

2 cups new CB

3 cups old CB

Also I've read all the pages in the Inkwell, so maybe I'll start there (posting poems and such). I'll probably read all the  DtE pages next and work on that.

IMPORTANT: I was around for the old CB but was 1) too shy to post and 2) under a different name.

Hello.

I have only been on CB for a week or so, but have read a lot of posts from the back pages. I really don't know a lot about what old CB was, but I'm in to try to make CB mave more meaningfull posts. I love when people post poetry. What dose every one mean by Alter Egos? I mean i know what that alter egos means, but dose it have a different meaning here?

I came last July so I sort of witnessed the whole switch over. We since most of the old CBer's left I feel like we need some 'new' old CB'ers to sort of show others what to do, sort of like mentors. We used to have more games and stuff and that would be great to have, just not 'Hey! my name is Whatever and I'm blowing up!' So,we've been here talking about it; let's go out and do it!

Then I joined around the time you did. All I see now is a world of craziness and the old cb back in the summer crumbling to dust. (not that that's a bad thing). A new era for the cb is unfolding. Like let's call it...... " sunset of the old CB era" or something like that. I feel like all the oldies are famous and ( don't take this into offense religiously) are gods of the cb. And once they leave, it's like the what's the word, they fade. Are forgotten. I want to change that. I know when sombody leaves like Everinne it's a heartbreak for people who have been here a while. I don't want to be known as a CB god. (Well any of you can think what you want after I leave in a Long time.) I want to be known as one of the group who brought the old CB back. The one with more thought-out posts, and not as much craziness ( a bit is good but it's getting annoying that I can't go on some threads without there being crazy all caps alter ego comments. I want the old CB back, even if we can't get it back. I read the back threads more and more and I realize, it's a lot different now. Don't you feel the same adimins?

There will always be change. People grow and move on, and new people arrive. That's life. If you long for certain kinds of discussions, threads, etc. you have only to submit them and if they are suitable they will be posted. This discussion of the "craziness" now reminds me of the problem we had with Warriors cats invading every thread several years ago. We then requested that Warriors only post on a few specific threads and that problem was solved. Likewise, this problem will work its way out if enough people are in favor of more thoughtful comments and take the time to submit them.

I will not tell you my old name. I will say that I am NOT a Newbie. I was around right after Everinne got on.

I haven't even read some of these posts, but I just want to put my thoughts onto paper... Or screen. (And I just read your post, Winter, and you're kinda a newbie yourself :P)

I know sooner or later the old cbers are going to leave. I can feel it. I mean, look. After the 'revolution' of Crowd sorcery, I think they got a little overloaded. I don't blame them.

I actually enjoyed cb when it was a bit less... Crowded. No, I'm not going to leave. But Like you are all saying, it's just too... Crazy.

Now I'm gettin' real melodramatic... But a 'revolution' is startin'. Get ready.
