Chatterbox: Down to Earth

QUIZ: WHERE DO YOU FEEL BEST WRITING?    Okay, I wrote this quiz for myself, but since there are other quizzes here I thought I'd share my own! Oh, and if it looks funny it's because I copied & pasted off Word.

1.    Where of these places would you most like to go?

a.  A playground. Get active and maybe get some new friends!

b.  A coffee shop. Have your own space while still being around other people.

c.  My backyard, hidden in a tree. Quiet, with no one watching.

2.   Who do you spend your time with?

a.  All my friends! I get to socialize and discuss the latest news.

b.  My family - I know them,so I’m not self-conscious with them.

c.  My cat. We talk without having to say anything.

3.   I think best when…

a.  I’m out in the world.

b.  I’m out in the world, but I can keep to myself.

c.  I’m by myself.

Mostly A’s: You get most of your inspiration from being around other people. Try starting a writer’s club or group, where you meet to discuss ideas and write together.

Mostly B’s: You get most of your inspiration from being in a mix: both by yourself and with others. Sit with your family when you write, or take your notepad or laptop to a quiet but public place, like a library or a café, and you’ll feel ‘write’ at home.

Mostly C’s: You get most of your inspiration from being by yourself. Curling up in your bedroom, your private tree house, or anywhere you can be alone, will help you write best.

Cool! I think I'm mostly B's.

Sometimes I do sit in the tree in my front yard to read a book. I find it to awkward to lug my laptop up there, so I don't write, but I grab a basket, some rope, a little picnic snack, and a book, and haul them into the tree and stay there for hours. It's really nice, because I'm around people without having to talk to them, and sometimes they don't even know I'm there. Other times, I'll wave to a neighbor across the street. It's really fun when families walk under me, and nobuggy except for the baby in the stroller notices me. It's like I have this special connection with him/her, and even though we've never met, we share a secret.

I'm mostly Cs, which makes since. I can't write well around other people.
