POLITICS

Anyone interested in any kind of political discussion?  Who do you want to win the election?  Who do you think will be McCain's VP choice?  What do you think of the candidates?

Sorry if you don't live in the US!!!

Alaska does not have the lowest population!  Wyoming does!  Lots of other states have fewer, or around the same as Alaska!  The Dakotas and other states do!  There're people from Alaska and other places with low populations, and I'm sure that they would disagree with you.

Sorry, I was mistaken. Alaska, while having a low population, does not have the lowest. I meant to say that Wasilla, the town she governed, has under 10,000 people,

"approximately one twentieth the size of Barack Obama's Illinois state senate district."

That's 5,000 people smaller than your hometown, for comparison.

It's also 8,000 people larger than my hometown. ;)

Hmm..., how do you know how many people live in Gorham.  Do you really live in Maine??  Oh, and just so you know, Gorham does not have nearly 15,000 people!  It's around the same size as Wasilla.  And, I used to live in Jacksonville, Florida, my real home town which I visit often, which certainly has many many more than 15,000!

Personally I'm for McCain, because we know he has character, He's proven it all through his life, especially when he was a PoW in Vietnam, and he cares more about the COUNTRY than the party, which is exactly what we need in a politician.

'Course, I don't agree with his stance toward becoming energy independent, but still, he's better than Obama, who is eloquent and talented and will almost definitely do some great things in his future career. I just don't think Obama's ready to be president yet.

Pallin talks about how she's for the "American Family", but she's never talked about health care.  Obama is for more funding toward public school systems, but John McCain refuses to quote on this very important issue (I know this, my mom's a teacher).

I think Obama is too unaware of the fact that we are winning the war in Iraq. McCain has been around long enough to know what he is doing. Obama does seem like a nice person, but I don't think he's ready to lead this country. Today is September 27, 2008. Yesterday I was watching the presidential debate on Election '08. Here are some notes I took on what the two candidates said:

Obama wants to invest in different types of energy

McCain wants to cut spending

Obama wants to bring the war to a close

McCain wants to stop foreign oil and lower taxes

McCain wants to examine every agency of government

Here are some quotes from the debate:

"We need more troops there. We need more supplies there" -Obama on Iraq

"You cannot have a failed strategy that will cause you to nearly lose a conflict." - McCain on the lessons of Iraq.

I think that kids should speak up about their opinions in politics. BTW, I'm in MB. My name in MB is Brooke. Anyone else on it?

We're in the war on terror because we stuck our nose into Iraq's business. We had 9/11 because we stuck our nose into their business. I think we should stop the war, however I agree with McCain on most issues like cutting down on spending and other stuff said during the presidental debate.

My parents are voting for Bob Barr.

If I were old enough to vote, I would vote for McCain. It's not because I think he's the greatest guy in the world, but I think he is more capable in the task of leading our country than Obama is. I don't think we should just desert Iraq now. We should be responsible and finish what we started.  People are always talking about how there are too many taxes, and about how they think the government should take a step back. Obama wants to push it farther and farther.  I don't know for sure who the next president will be, but I hope whoever it is will be willing to do what's right.

Alomst everybody in my family are democrats and liberals. I really think Obama should win because he is the worthy candidate. Do we really want another war? Gov. Sarah Palin is a good choice  for the people who already support McCain, and not such a good choice for those of us who are still deciding. McCain has 7 houses, 14 cars and Obama 1 1. If you want to really find out about this election, watch channel MSN on TV. Warning: if you are a soon- to- be Republican don't watch Keite Overman or Chris Matthews. Sorry if I spelled Keith's last name wrong!

*appears in a burst of light*

Hello, it's Owlgirl again from the fuuuuuuuuuuture!!!!!!!

So it seems like most of you thought McCain was going to win. Actually, he didn't. Obama won. And then he won again, for a second term.

However crazy you thought your election was, it is WAAAAAAAAAY crazier now. This is literally the most insane election year in the history of election years.
