Chatterbox: Down to Earth

If you don't know, yesterday, there was an attack on the capital of Belgium, reportedly by ISIS.

Most humans try, but it is humans like these that make me so mad. First of all, some people will just going to blame the Islamic religion for this, because they think Muslims are all ISIS, even though ISIS has broken every Muslim rule and shouldn't be considered that religion. Second of all... why?

Why do people hurt others like this? It's normal to see these things on the news. It feels like we're just trying to tear each other apart. It seems like we are. But... not all of us do. There are great humans who want to bring us all together. But we can't because of stuff like this. So many of us are at war. Why? Why can't we all be reasonable, agree to disagree? Cry

I know. It's stupid, and frankly, really scary. I mean, it's one thing to be watching an episode of NCIS where they have a terrorist attack and Dornaget dies, but it's another to see stuff on the news and to know it's real. No makeup, no cameras, all real.

The thing that I don't understand the most is the stereotyping. I mean, I have a friend who is Muslim.  She's a great dancer, and she has the some opinions about the idiots in ISIS as the rest of us. And the thing is, she isn't even from Syria!  She's from somewhere in Africa!  So, aside from her religion, she has NOTHING in common with these nutsos. And like you said, ISIS broke every Musilm rule in the book, and now I think they're just out for non-ISIS blood.

As for the question about war, I agree with x. Some people are just really greedy. But sometimes, they are just unstable and insecure. I know a girl whose parents got divorced when she was really little, and she lives with her dad. And she doesn't see her mom like at all. Now, that's her choice, her dad offered to let her and her sister see the mom, but they said no. Now their dad is remarried, and their stepmom is amazing. Like the best person EVER. But, before, this girl I know, she was a little controlling, and a little bossy. Not too much, but some. And I get that. My parents have a good relationship with each other, and with me and my brothers, so I don't know what she's gone through, but I'm a rather bossy person myself. It makes you feel like you're in control of something, even if  the person you control isn't happy.

..., I got the impression that you have seen some racism or know somebody who had seen it, and for that I am truly sorry. I myself am white, and I have never seen or known someone who has seen racism, but I know it exists. It's just stupid what people will do to each other because they're different. Differences on the outside are just that, on the outside. What's inside is what really counts.

I have friends who are white, black, Chinese, Russian, Lutheran, Catholic, Muslim, atheists, and tons of friends who I've never asked about religion before.  What I get from all these varied friends is a nice stew pot of cultures and personalities. That's what America was about when we first came over here, someplace where anybody could come and freely worship, or work, or do whatever to make themselves something better. Now, as I'm getting older and seeing more and more of the stupid, dumb, scary things that happen in this world, I get the feeling that America isn't quite about that anymore. It makes me sad, and I wonder just how much worse it could get.

I'm sorry is any of this offended anybuggy, or if it depressed you, or if it pressed negative emotions you didn't know existed into you. This is just my opinion, and Cricket lets me express it. Thanks for reading this all.

Exactly. It's greed. Greed and the thirst for power is the cause of this. There is nothing more to say. I don't think that I can express anything else in my writing.
