This thread is about some things you may not have noticed in the song "Shelter."  Go check it out if you haven't seen it!

Some things you may not have noticed in the video:

So we know that the lonely kid is called Rin.  She was seven when she left her father.  So basically, she should be somewhere about fourteen, thanks to the "no messages in 2587 days."  Yeah, that really saddens me.   But the thing is, it could have been longer than that.  There may have been a message at the start of her trip, and she had been waiting for another one ever since.  So, it could have been eight years.  We're just pretty sure that she's neared 14-16.

How the message at the end was sent is a pure mystery.  Was her father still alive?  Had he pre-set the message for it to send 7-8 years later?  It seems impossible that he could send it at the current time.  This is because if the world had ended, how could he have lived?  Some believe that he sent himself off into another ship but that could not be the case.  If he could, then he would most likely go off with his daughter, wouldn't her?  Well, that means you missed a vital part of the story.

The message sent by her father was decrypted a few days after the song had released.  Rin's father had described that it would have been selfish if he had gone with her.  Because of this, no one is certain if the message was pre-set before or not.  The message also described how Rin was too young at the time to understand what was going on, so her father thought it was the right time to tell her what happened.  Sadly, it only contained facts that we would have already known.

Lastly, I wonder how the drawing pad worked.  Even with the most cartoonish designs it would make a beautiful reality.  How was it even incorporated into her world?  And how did Rin stay in tact?  I hope someone will expand on this story soon; it's such a breathtaking piece of art.
