It's SUMMER!

Chatterbox: Down to Earth

It's SUMMER!

It's SUMMER!

Okay, yesterday the temparatures in Portland (Maine, the Portland with a port) shot up.

Way up.

At one point, the thermostat said 95 degrees. And it was sunny, hardly any clouds!

It was sooo hot...it gave me a headache, but then I got to play in a friend's sprinkler so it wasn't that bad.

And today, it's in the high 70's and middle-ish 80's! What's the weather like where you are? I'm just curious to see what other people are experiencing.

SoCal can't make up its mind what weather it is. The temperature is leaping all over the place. Yesterday it was freezing, today it was roasting, and the forecast says it'll get hotter until Monday where it'll drop back into the 60's. Seriously, CA, decide already! (Ha, 95 degrees is the average temperature for most of the summer here.)

Mostly rain, but I live in Washington, so I'm used to it. We did get a little bit of sun today, and it got up to almost 70 degrees!

Here in Massachusetts it's been really warm recently. Yesterday I ran around all day in a tank top and shorts, which is rare for me. XD

I'm getting a lot of sun, humidity and heat, with sunny and partly cloudy skies and temperatures mostly in the upper eighties. Unfortunately, I do better in the cold. Perhaps rainy days will offer some respite.

New York cannot decide. First we got some nice weather, 60-80 degrees. Then, a bunch of rain and 40 degree days. This past week has been pretty nice. Although, THIS SHOULDN'T BE HAPPENING! SPRING USED TO BE THE ONE IN-BETWEEN TIME AND NOW IT'S BEEN MOSTLY TOO COLD!!!  (October is miserable, so no inbetween then.)

Ugghh... I hate the heat. Here in Florida, the tempurature can go into the 105s in Spring. Always when I'm walking home from the bus stop with my gigantic heavy backpack. I get home and I'm sweating, hurriedly opening the wrappers of ice cream bars. Sometimes my sister has eaten all of the ice-cream and that is when I'm shaking my fist at the roof wishing I could rig a light and sound system into my house to create fake thunder and lightning to scare my sister when I go to complain to her. Seriously, I mean who eats four bars of ice cream when you know your little sister will be in dire need of them when she gets back from the bus stop!? I'd like to live in Maine. I heard the tap water tastes pretty good. My science made me watch a science video last year of why Maine's water is so good.

I know how you feel about the ice cream bars... I have an older teenage brother who eats EVERYTHING in the house, and leaves nothing for me. My mom buys two big bags of chips, and the next day both of them are gone. Sometimes it gets sooo annoying.

By the NH seacoast, we had 90's yesterday, and on Thursday, when I had soccer, I was about to boil in my skin because it was like, 88. Today it's in the 70's and 80's, supposedly, but I haven't gone outside yet.

In the other Portland, there was just like 4 weeks of almost nonstop rain(no suprise there,)

but now it's been like 80 for the last 4 days.

By the way, Portland Oregon has a port. Multiple, maybe. But I know for sure there is a little one on the Columbia River and it's really cool so THERE Leafpool!!!!!

You live in Portland, Oregon?! My grandparents live in Vancouver, Washington, so we go down to visit them sometimes.

I've been to Portland OR, too. My great grandma used to live there until she died at 104. It rained almost nonstop for all of the three times I went to visit her. :)

Here in RI, we had 101 on Thursday. That's crazy hot for here! Luckily, I went down to the beach and waded in up to my knees. That helped quite a bit!

Now, it's 60 degrees and sunny, which is pretty normal for early morning here.

(In central IL) it was 60 in the morning yesterday but 90 by the afternoon. Probably because it was pouring and then sunny. Yeah, we're getting all kinds of weather here.
