Chatterbox: Down to Earth

Please pray. Hurricane Irma has been recorded as a Category 5 storm, the most dangerous and destructive type of hurricane. It's apparently one of the strongest storms ever recorded in the Atlantic, with winds reaching 185 mph. And it's about to slam into Puerto Rico.
It's too early to be sure whether the hurricane will hit the mainland US, but it could very easily hit Florida. I'm really scared because one of my best friends lives in Lauderdale, right in the path of the hurricane. I know that some CBers live in Florida, too. Stay safe. We're all praying for you.

Aw, thank you elementgirl! I am one of the CBers who lives in Florida too (I'm Killim XD).

I'll also be praying for everyone else. I hope that everyone has gotten all the supplies they need, and a safe evacuation route. My family recently figured everything out hurricane wise, and we're set.

Because of Irma, we will be having a four day weekend, maybe even five. We have our evac route completely set, and we may have to leave.

Aww, thanks ( I live in Florida). Strangely, I'm excited. With hurricane Matthew, it was really fun, I got to stay home from school and listen to the wind and rain and watch the weather channel. Not so fun afterwards.

Puerto Rico is going to struggle with the damage, especially with their issues with the economy. Puerto Rico needs our help, like Texas and (maybe) Florida will need our help.

@Admins: If the storm does pass through Florida, can I put pictures of it on the CB? That is, if I get any interesting pictures.

Yes, feel free to share photos here, as long as you took them yourself, and as long as they do not contain any people's faces or any addresses on houses. Stay safe and keep us posted!

@Viola?, thank you!

@GreenMango, Florida will actually need our help too. It's probably going to hit Miami hard.

Yeah, was just watching the news and it is curving towards Florida more now! I know I should be scared, but I just can't bring myself to feel that. It's probably because my family is so relaxed about it. I asked my dad if we needed to board up windows or buy more food and he said, "No, we're fine." Florida will need help regardless if it hits or goes past, though you are right. Even if Irma goes by the coast, Florida will still feel the damages.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!

I have family in Florida! My cousin Jackson lives there! (Well, actually, I'm kind of scared of my cousin, because he's fifteen and way taller than me.... but still. I don't want him to die. At all.) I wish the best for all of you who live in Florida, please stay safe.

Thought: Doesn't Owlgirl live in Texas?

Some of my cousins just recently moved to Puerto Rico, and of course, the first year that they are there, they experience a hurricane. :( They live in a concrete house,and have stocked up on food, so unless they need to evacuate, they should be good. I'm still praying for them, though. And anyone else who went/will/ or has gone though the hurricane and flooding.
