Chatterbox: Down to Earth

New game! (it's

New game! (it's not really a game, but I don't know what else to call it)

My class does these things called 300 writings, and basically what they are is our teacher giving us a question, like "If you could sit on a bench with any person that's ever existed and talk for an hour, who would you choose and why/what would you talk about" or "What makes a hero a hero" etc. I thought since a lot of you like to write, you'd like this. It would also help us get to know each other better.

So, every Sunday I'll post a new question/topic, and that will give you all a week to answer it. This week's question is...

What is the best gift you've ever recieved?

This is a very good idea!

As soon as I read your question, I immediatly realized that I don't need a whole week to answer it. Plain and simple, the best gift that I ever received is redemption from my sins and eternal life from my Savior, Jesus.

{Note: I do not mean to offend anyone in any way. This is what I firmly believe, and I know that many people in our world do not believe the same as I do. But I want everyone to know that I do not hold that against them in any way at all.}

I think this is a great idea, and I'll try to stay posted on it!

The best gift I've recieved was the wrapping paper for my sketching clipboard.  Not the clipboard itself, but the wrapping paper, which was blank, but my whole family had written "Happy 13th Birthday, Lucy!" on it, even my grandmother, who was suffering from cancer.  It made me really happy because I'll admit it, these last few years have been dificult for me, and it felt good to know that everyone cared.

Okay, so I agree very much with what Vyolette said, and the free gift of forgiveness and redemption from Jesus is also the best gift I have ever received (by far).

Now, the best physical, human-given gift I have ever received is, no question, my dog Bell (short for Isabel). I got her as a puppy for my ninth birthday.

My bucket list?  It's pretty short, but I'll list some things.

1- Get at least to the state level in the Reflections Art Competition (fingers crossed this year -- one more level of competition to get through) in either visual art of literature

2- Go to all the places of my ethnicity (China, Germany, maybe Greece)

3- Go to Vidcon or Anime Expo

My bucket list is:

- Own a red convertable. It has to be red.

- Fall in love, get married, ect.

- Travel to Oulu, Finland.

- Graduate from collage.

- Publish a book.

- And for the next 2 months only: Compete at University Auditions in Music and qualify for State.

Here's my bucket list:

• Skydive

• Swim with dolphins

• Own a chinchilla (not the CBer)

• Own a horse

• Eat an entire roll of Tollhouse cookie dough as fast as I can (kudos to you if you get the reference)

• Go to Scandinavia (Sweden especially)

• Go to Ireland

• Go to a real castle

• Publish my books

• Go to college

• Own an animal rescue on a farm (this is also part of what I want to do when I grow up)

• Get married and have kids (the other part)

I always figure I'm a little young for a bucket list, but a few things I'd like to do are:

-Learn at least two foreign languages

-Go back to Iceland, and for the first time to Sweden, Finland and Denmark

-Climb a mountain

-Write a book

-Buy a house

-See all unfair discrimination erased from the earth

-Figure out my sexual and romantic orientation

-Sneak into a graveyard at night and carpet it in flowers

-Be an awesome crazy aunt

-Come to terms with my own death (there's definitely something beyond what we can measure, but it's not necessarily an afterlife, and I don't like the idea of not existing)

-Become consciously socially adept

-Learn how to dance

-Take a road trip across the country/continent

-Become rich and famous and somehow manage to not mess it up

You know, I wouldn't even mind doing that in order. Except I would move "Learn to dance" up somewhere above "Write a book". And I actually know one dance? But I would like to know how to dance a lot of dances. I would also like to be remembered for being a singer, an artist, a social something cool, smart, interesting, and a good person. Maybe the first at something. Firsts and lasts are usually remembered the best.

My bucket list:

- Go to college

- Graduate (of course)

- Travel!

- Buy a pet bird

- Teach said bird to say "Help! I've been turned into a bird!"

- Go on a retreat

- Learn a new language

All subject to change... except the bird thing XD
