The past

The landscape seemed fragmented without any visible lines. It was a seamless patchwork of places. There was a roller coaster and a merry-go-round that sat next to each other under a bright, cloudless sky, a mansion with a starry night sky spread above it, a warm sandy beach, and a treehouse, all uncomfortably close to each other.

She maneuvered around the still-turning merry-go-round and stepped closer to her destination. She glanced up a few times, checking the seamless skies for a hint of her destination.

At first glance, the particular landscape could have been under a night sky. Then you would see the trees, the grass, and the house, and realize that there was no color in any part of the second. It was completely black-and-white, as if all color had been drained and replaced with grays. This was what she had punished her past with.

A shiver went down her spine as she entered the area. She didn't dwell on it, though--she chose to focus on the house in front of her. It was large, Victorian, and almost a little foreboding in its colorless scheme. The door had been left open, so she just walked in.

The other girl looked different under this blackened lense, with her skin a light gray and her hair almost white.

The girl seemed surprised, then looked up the stairs and yelled.

This is... interesting. I'm assuming this isn't something you're going through, so maybe the Inkwell might be a better place for this thread? It's really well-written, though! I can't wait to see what happens next!

Sounds to me like an AE reintroduction.

The past can be a terrible yet lovely thing. I hate forgetting. And remembering. Especially since my past isn't all butterflies and rainbows.

I don't necessarily understand the deep stuff behind what you wrote, im sorta not really awake rn, but I think I sorta get it.

The past can be hard to accept and look back on. I should know better then anyone. I forgat my pass too, totally blocked it out, and now I'm trying to remember and peice everything back together but its just so...hard. Is that what ur talking about?

Maybe you're just talking about how the past sorta blends together and you forget things naturally. I hate that too. Especially when you forget the good memories but still remember the bad. Or when you're peicing things together and only remember the bad.

Omk I hate the past.

Words of advice from the lion king,

"Yes, the past can hurt. But the way I see it, you can either run from it or learn from it." -Rafiki

Don't black out your past. You'll regret it, I promise. The past holds lessons. The sooner you can accept it, the sooner you can move on.

(on a side note your post definitely belongs here. It's totally something that people go through.)
