Divided We Fall

Divided We Fall

@coyotedomino I know you said you hadn't read it, but a while ago you told be about a book called Divided We Fall. That book is absolutely amazing. I just finished it, and yes, it is to die for.

I'm sorry I'm not posting this on BaB, but I thought this is more of a discussion for DtE.

Has anyone else read Divided We Fall by Trent Reedy?

I must stress that this book is most definitely a YA novel and I would suggest 14 (arguably 15)+ and parental permission before reading this. It isn't bad in anyway (besides you know, the whole of the United States of America is basically falling apart), but still.

Divided We Fall is novel based sometime in the near (I think) future. It is about a government issued ID card that sent the USA into a civil war. It's bursting with political viewpoints arguments and philosophy and brings up the very serious question of what could happen if our country was to go to war with itself.

Telling the thrilling story of PFC Daniel Wright and his life as a senior high school student, with nothing more to worry about then a few football rivalries and a worrisome mother. His tale quickly escalates into a complete mess after he's called to an unexpected mission to try to stop a riot in Boise.

This novel, the first in a trilogy, is an amazing book. It brings up fascinating (and very serious) thoughts and gives an interesting viewpoint into the world. I would highly recommend it to anyone who is interested, but be advised it has profanity and violence a-plenty.

If anyone else has read this book I would be thrilled to discuss it!
