Hello all!! Wow,

Chatterbox: Down to Earth

Hello all!! Wow,

Hello all!! Wow, it's been a while since I've been on here. But I really miss you guys! (More on that in a second.) I joined the CB right at the beginning of 7th grade, and now that I'm a sophomore in high school, not middle school, my interests are different. I don't write much poetry, but I do enjoy reading what you all write!! You all got me through some rough times during middle school.

Okay, let me just say that even though I really haven't posted in a while, I still think of you guys a whole lot. I'm now 16, and I hope I can still be relevant here. I truly care about you all, and you are *all* amazing people. Don't you dare forget that. :)

So! Here's what's up with my life right now:

- I've continued my flute studies. I take an hour lesson every week, and it has helped me so much. I'm very involved with a lot of things at school that involve fluting (lol). I was the second flutist in my school's production of Peter Pan at the beginning of the year. After that ended in late October, it was auditon season. I auditioned for district band (which applies to all of the high school students in our area of my state), and made that! 7th chair out of 12! Woohoo! Making district band qualified me to audition for state, so I did. AND I MADE IT! I'm only a sophomore, so that is SUPER awesome. I'm 7th chair out of 12, but I'm just so grateful to be there. That will be next Thursday-Saturday. But this week is show week for Jesus Christ Superstar at my school! I'm the only flutist in the pit orchestra for that. It's so much fun!! Ahh!! JCS is such a great show, and we have a very talented cast, crew, pit, and directors helping to make it that way! (Unfortunately, though, one of the shows is tonight, so I won't be able to make it to the live chat. But hello all!! I miss you guys!)

- After JCS and state band, I will be performing in Story Theatre, a collection of short Brothers Grimm stories. I have one singular line, but yet again, I'm just happy to be there!! No small parts, only small actors!

So anyway, what are you all up to?

Poetic Panda!!!! Welcome back!! How are you? I don't know if you remember me - I was on here a bit when you were, but our paths didn't overlap all that much.

That is so cool that you are so involved with playing the flute! My mother played when she was in school, but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to make anything more than a wobbling note that in my cousin's words... "RIP everyone's ears." Yeah.

Hey Poetic Panda! I take flute lessons too! And I also made my district band with my friends which I'm really excited about! I don't know how yours works, but we have a junior group (7-9 grade) and a senior group (9-12 grade). I'm a freshman in high school and me and my friends got the top spots of the junior festival! It's really impressive that you got such a great place as a sophmore! I don't know if you have a junior and senior festival but if I had done senior I probably wouldn't have made it in, much less have placed that high! Congratulations!

Well hello there! Funny seeing you on here! I can't believe this day is actually here, and then over, haha. Seemed like such a far away date in 2016.

I guess I don't have much to say since we already talked about this, but I'm really excited for JCS. The preview was SO good, and I am incredibly excited to see it on Saturday. Like... it's my favorite musical! I can't wait!

Poetic Panda!! *tackle hugs* Hi, it's great to hear from you again!!! :D Playing an instrument for a show sounds like a lot of fun. (How did it go last night?) And congrats for getting into district band! That's so exciting.

Do you still like Singing in the Rain? Our school's putting it on this spring, and I'll get to see it for the first time! I'll be volunteering backstage/with the lights.

By the way, Moonfrost (my sister) says she misses you! :)

Hi Poetic Panda!!! I'm so glad you came back!

That's so cool- I play the flute too! I've been teaching myself for two years to play in the local homeschool concert band in my town. How long have you been playing?

It's so good to see you again!! Will it be your first time performing as an actor in the Story Theatre? My friend does some acting, and I'd love to get into it, but it's quite the drive from where I live to the place they practice. :(

It's so great that you made it to state!! I'm so glad that life is going well now. :)

Thank you all for your wonderful comments!! I'll reply to you all specifically on just one comment so I don't overload the Admins. (Although this post did end up being kinda long, sorry!!)

@Dragonrider, Ayy flute buddies!! Woohoo! Congrats on your district band as well, especially the top spots!! That's awesome! (We have just one big district band for all grade levels, but multiple districts in our state. Only sophomores through seniors can audition for state, though. They actually just allowed freshman to audition for district band this year.) Ooh, freshman year! How is high school treating you?

@Leafpool, *TACKLE HUGS BACK* Love ya! Happy VDay 2019! Great to see you again!!! I've missed you :)

@Clouded Leopard, wow, long time no talk! (Haha for those of you who don't know, we have a class together at school.) Glad you enjoyed the little preview for JCS we did! Since the Saturday show got rescheduled, I hope you can come to Sunday or Monday!

@Mice, HI!! *tackle hugs back* I've missed you! Of course I still like Singin' in the Rain! It conveys the sense of true happiness in the title scene so well. Good luck with lights!! let me know how that goes!! We love our crews. <3 And please say hello to Moonfrost for me! I miss her too!

@Leafmist, We can be flute buddies too! Yeah!! That's awesome! I've been playing since 5th grade, but I wasn't very serious about it until 7th or 8th grade. And now I'm in 10th grade, so I suppose I've been playing it for six years now! Wow! (Also, I was self-taught as well, up until the summer before my freshman year. I did start taking private lessons and have been learning a lot more from them, so if that's something you might be interested in, I say go for it! And if you just want to do a lil bit, then I have a cool YouTube channel you can check out.)

@Secret, Hello there! The guitar is such a cool instrument! I'm terrible at playing it, but I've thought about pursuing it more in depth! How is that going for you?

@Cho, HI!! It's great to see you as well! It feels like it's been forever since we've talked! I hope you've been doing well! I've been meaning to check out your 'I'm back' thread. It will not be my first time acting, as I've did performances at my elementary and middle school, and over the summer I directed a play and acted in a minor role in that, but this will be my first time on stage at my high school in a "big" show. I'm sorry to hear about the long drive! Maybe you could direct your own play like I did, and have people come to you for rehearsals instead of you going to them! It's a lot of work, but it payed off, and I'm so grateful. <3 But enough about me! I hope you've been doing well.

Again, thank you all for your thoughtful comments. They are so kind and really made my day!! I've missed you all!

That's amazing that you directed your own show! It definitely sounds more my style, it's kind of what I do with roleplaying, lol. That's awesome!! *hugs*

I'm so glad that your 'career' is going so well. ^^

Wait a second. @Cho, did you make a threaed about yourself for V-Day 2019?? I feel like I saw one, but I might have confused it with the chatting threads I saw were by you. My bad!

Well anyway, if you didn't make one, how's life treating you?
