Hi! Happy reunion

Chatterbox: Down to Earth

Hi! Happy reunion

Hi! Happy reunion and (belated) Valentine's Day!

So this post is late cuz I literally had zero time on Valentine's Day, then I stayed up until 2 doing  project and was too tired to make a lot of posts on Friday, so here I am, I'm so sorry I didn't post on February 14.

Wow wow wow I have so much replying to do...I can't put in words how amazing it is to see everyone back. I made a post about a month ago towards the end of winter break dropping in to say hi, and I'm going to repeat a little what I said before for those dropping in or who might not have seen the thread.

It all started with reading and loving Cricket magazine, and then my first post on the CB was in Blab About Books on February 7, 2015 when I was 11 and had just read and loved Chains by Laurie Halse Anderson in 5th grade. From then on, it's been such a journey. I'm 15 now, a freshman in high school, no longer an active CBer, which sounds so weird to say. I go to a performing arts high school, where half the day I take classes like choir and classical voice, and the other half of the day I take normal academic classes. It's stressful sometimes cuz its high school, duh, but overall I'm so glad to be there, I've made good friends...other vocal kids and kids in other art areas too, and I still keep in touch with and see my old ones.

I'm so grateful for all that the CB's given me, and the friendships I grew...it's amazing. My CB friends, I miss you guys so much! And to newer CB friends, hi there, lovely to meet you!

I just....it's really so hard to say how much the CB means to me. I definitely grew as a writer and a person. There's just so many memories and good people. I loved roleplaying, ski lodges, talking about life, books, passions, art, experiences, games, writing activities, Cricket, the world, AEs, CAPTCHAs, friends. I still wish I could meet all of you in real life. I remembered so many days excitedly running to get onto the CB, devoting a lot of time to writing, feeling excitement and heartwarming. I know I'm a bit late to the party but I would still love to catch up with you guys. I would say for sure the best part about the CB was the people, the bonds I formed. It's pretty awesome that through a screen, with typed words on a small website so much magic happened.

Aside from my thread I made a month ago, I stopped the CB maybe like a year ago, not because I didn't love it, but I just got busier and it slipped from my mind. And, just to get this out of the way, I would say my one regret about the CB was never finishing my Island Paradise Ski Lodge, which I was so so close to finishing....but you know what, I'm not opposed to starting it up. I honestly don't know when that would happen, but I just wanted to say to those in it, maybe someday.

So, talk to me! How are you guys doing, how do you feel about coming back, how was your Valentine's Day, what are some memories you have of the CB that you love, what are some memories with me (I'm trying to remember things, more and more comes back which is really exciting), what are you doing in school or in your life, what activities or artists or hobbies are you into, how are you feeling about being here (whether you're an oldie returning, someone who hasn't left, or someone I've never met before)? I'd love to chat with my friends and meet new CBers :) And hi Admins!

As I'm typing, I realize it's 9:13, and because I was really sleep deprived this week my mom is having me go to bed early...I'll post more tomorrow.

I love you guys so so much.

Love,

Owlgirl

(as usual, long post, no proofreading, what's new) :) <3

Hi, Owlgirl,

It's great hearing from you again and from so many others. We appreciate your taking the tim to tell what Chatterbox has meant to you.

Best wishes,

Admin

Hello, Owlgirl! *waves awkwardly* Welcome back! I’m afraid I’m having trouble processing all your post (I attempted to read it thrice), probably due to... The time. (Aaand looking at the time, it’s 2:30 AM. Holy Wichita. Even for me that’s not exactly early.) So I relate to that. But welcome back, and nice to see you!

Hiya there, coyotedomino! Yeah haha, reading a post late at night written by someone who wrote the post late at night may result in some sleep-deprivation-caused confusion. Basically the nutshell is I love the CB and the CB reunion, I'm excited to chat with y'all, and life's busy but good :) Nice to see you too!

Owlgirl!!!!!!!! I’ve missed you!!! It’s been so good to see everyone and catch up. Wow, you were one of the biggest fellow Hamilton fans on the CB - it was so fun to talk to other people who loved it as much as I did. Do. I would keep reading your ski lodge if you started it back up again. It was really good, and I still kept up with it even though I wasn’t in it. How is being in high school so far? I’m a sophomore now and it seems so crazy that I’m getting my driver’s license soon and starting to think about college next year. Plus, my family is getting a new puppy in two weeks, the same day as the second night of my school’s show Footloose, which I’ll be in, so basically everything is crazy. We still haven’t come up with a name for her yet, but I wanted to name her after someone in A Series of Unfortunate Events. She’s black and white, a border collie/lab mix.

Anyways, I have waaaay too much homework to be doing this at 10:52 at night, so I need to go. It’s good to see you!

Hey there Twirlgirl, good to see you :) How's your life going, and how's dance going? Also, what kind of dance do you do?

OHMYGOSHOHMYGOSHOHMYGOSHHH RIDDLER!!

*giant hug*

I haven't gotten to talk to you yet, and I'm so glad you're here, you were one of my closer friends on the CB. And yes, it was great getting to talk to another Hamilfan all the time. I'm not full-in obsessed now like I was when I first listened to it, but I still love it and guess what, I got to see it! It was completely amazing...the music, the set, the cast, and even though I knew all the lyrics by heart, I was still struck by the complexity and awesomeness of the lyrics. I went to a matinee and got to get my playbill signed by Hamilton, Peggy/Maria, and Eliza.

And yeah, I feel really really bad about the ski lodge but I want to finish it...sometime. I don't know when honestly, high school's so busy. I enjoy it though, even though obviously it's a bit much sometimes, like today, I had a very difficult bio quiz. And I relate to your homework struggles haha. Overall though, I like my high school and all my academic and singing classes. (Our bio class really is hard though ugh.) How's being a sophmore compared to being a freshman for you?

Yay, driver's liscense! I've yet to even start taking lessons. One of my friends is way ahead of me and already has her permit. And OH MY GOODNESS A PUPPY! Let me know when you figure out her name! What's your role in Footlose? I could never be in that show, seems very dance heavy.

What's your NaNo YWP username? If you don't have one you should get one so I can add you to the CB classroom, there's a big group chat and you can message people individually too, which would be a fun way to chat. Plus it's good for writing activities.

Hello Owlgirl! Not sure if you remember me. I used to be Lone Wolf... anyway! For school, I am doing drama! I can’t remember if you liked acting or not, but I just thought I’d throw that out there. How is choir going? Do you like it? Overall, how is life? I know High school can be super stressful, but I hope your enjoying it.

I have to cut this short but I am excited to see you again!

Hey Tuxedo Kitten, of course I remember you! I remember when you changed your name. Yes, drama's awesome! I'm doing a bit less of it lately but I still love love love musical theatre and take a group acting class every week. Choir's going great, our choir (made of freshman and sophomores, I'm in one with boys and girls and one with just girls at school) is really good and right now we're singing some fun and challenging music. I love challenging music. Life's good, and yeah high school is stressful sometimes but I enjoy it too.

I'm curious, what grade are you in, and how big is your school? I'm a freshman, there's less than 200 hundred freshman, like seven hundred something in the school. There's twenty vocal department freshmen. To me it's a little big because my middle school was really small, but for my city's standards it's pretty small...a lot of high schools in my city have one thosand or thousands of students :O

In general, how's your life going? :)

Hey there, Cockleburr! Good to see you. How are you? I'm doing well, lots of singing and homework as usual. Recently my high school had a winter dance, and I also went to Homecoming at my middle school and got to see a lot of friends I'd missed. I've also been baking a lot of cookies. Nothing really super big or interesting, I feel like I'm in a transition towards bigger events or performances coming up in like a month or so. Anything interesting with you lately?

Well... I know I'm like SUPER late, but... I just wanted to say hi to you Owlgirl, if you're still around because it's like been a week already and I know I'm going to regret it if I don't just say hi at least once.

Hey Joan!!! Don't worry about being "late" I was late to a lot of threads too, yes I'm still around. Really good to see you, you've always been an awesome CBer. I'm glad you came for the reunion and said hi! How's life going? Hope you're doing well, and see you for sure(?) in four years, maybe in two if you're coming then.

Hi Owlgirl! I was avoiding all of these returning posts during the actual reunion because everything was just so crowded and busy and all, but by now I've had the chance to look through and I just wanted to say hi!

Which was your ski lodge? I feel like I was reading it or in it or something but I can't remember if it was yours or someone else's.

Um, I think that's all. :)
