Chatterbox: Down to Earth

DO NOT give

DO NOT give me credit for this idea, because according to certain sources it has been done before. hrm hrm hrm.

ANYWAY, I thought it would be cool if we "built houses" asin we have a thread that we call our house, and our AEs live there, and we can ask people over to chat, or, if they just wanna chat about random things, they can come to our thread.

Mine will be on the Inkwell, and it will probably be in the back pages pretty soon cuz nobody likes me. :( But I can live.

I thought that the post would just basically have a description of our house, how many rooms, etc.?

*shrugs* I doubt many people will have a house. Just a thhought.

*goes off to build house*

*sees CAPTCHA*

Oh my goodness, guys, Taoa (my captcha's girlfriend who is also a captcha) said GOIB! goib. I can't believe it. *hugs self* *hugs Taoa*

bye

That’s actually a really cool idea, Spiff! I like it a lot. My concern is that if everyone makes houses it could get a little cluttered, though. Also, I wouldn’t want anyone to feel left out if their house doesn’t get visited as much or whatever. But this could be cool. I’ll see what everyone else thinks, and I might make a house myself later, who knows.

Also, Spiff, what do you mean nobody likes you!? Please don’t think that! Lots of people like you, me included!

Could we just have them on this thread? Kind of like the Let's Play House thread, but we can focus more on the CBers themselves. I like this idea. It'll also give us insight on how we would act in normal life, which would then allow us to make better AEs!

I thought of that, too, and I like that idea better. That way we wouldn’t have to have so very many threads.

I like this idea! I agree with A wonderer, I think that we should do it here. :)

right?

maybe I'll set up, like, a single room here or something. apiece of property separate from my house.

By hrer do you mean the DtE or this thread???

@Leeli,

Yes, it could get cluttered, BUT the This Month is pretty inactive lately and we could put houses there. Also the "Cricket Readers Recommend" . . . I'm literally probably the only CBer who has posted there in the last six months, but I don't think Admins would let us build there.

That's a fairly good idea, but the flaws override the benefits. Hey Admins, could we put our house threads on This Month?

I must admit, I don't enjoy invading an Area, though it may be inactive. Plus, you have to remember that if we have one thread for each CBer, they'll all be contending for a space on the first page. That's why WE SHOULD JUST HAVE ONE THREAD FOR THE CB HOUSES

You can just move your house here, Jith.

This Month is supposed to be the place to talk about themes in the current issue of Cricket. l'd prefer the houses go on Pudding's Place or if you think that's too crowded, then maybe Chirp at Cricket?

I'm putting my house here! It's a large apartment on the top floor of a pretty building that shines different colors in the sunshine.

There's a main room that's basically the kitchen, dining room, and living room in one. It's big, but has many cosy nooks and alcoves. The kitchen part is very nice and well furnished, as I like to cook. There's little animals everywhere, CB versions of pets I have or had, pets I wish I had (there are several dogs), and CAPTCHAs plus various other animals Pzun has adopted. There are several doors leading off, and a curtained loft.

The loft is mine. It's mostly taken up with a large mattress and a bunch of cushions, but there's a clear area for collaging and painting too. There's a cabinet built into the wall that has lots of drawers for my art supplies, and a large bookshelf. Despite this, everything is scattered on the floor, excelt for some diagrams pinned on a collaged corkboard. There's a door that leads to a smaller, more private room as well, which has a mirror, a dresser, and all that stuff, but also secret files I keep under lock and key and my apocalypse survival kit. You know. Just in case.

A door off the main room leads to Cloud's room, a tasteful and neat space with a light-colored landscape painted on the walls. There's an easel and a typewriter, and a four-poster bed curtained off. From there, you can get to a small balcony with wrought-iron railings that Cloud likes to write poetry from. Her lights are colored and cast the whole room in a dreamy light. She has a picture of Cu under her bed, which neither me or Pzun are supposed to know about so of course we do. There's also a drawer that helps her keep her room clean- it's filled to the brim with junk she throws in.

The second door leads to Pzun's room, which is taken over by animals. At his request, Cloud painted a jungle landscape on his walls, which makes it look like the room is larger than it really is, and expands into wilderness. He has a loft bed he is very proud of, and a shelf of chapter books, but as said before most of it is dedicated to animals, with cages and water dishes and the like. His balcony access has been cut off for public safety.

The last door leads to the bathroom, which is nice but I'm not going to describe it.

Even from a distance, you can hear the happy chatter coming from the apartment, windows glowing many warm hues. With trepidation, you ride the elevator up to the top floor...
