Do you consider

Do you consider the CB social media?

Hmm... I never thought about it. I guess I wouldn't exactly consider it social media, we can't share photos of our faces for one thing and I feel like you can trust people on the CB more than on social media apps. Plus, I don't like social media, but I love the CB (that's not exactly a reason but, oh well.)

I would definitely consider it social media.

I don't remember posting this, but that wouldn't be anything worth consideration if it wasn't also a reply to a top rather than a new post, and I don't think I saw this thread before today...? Just three days ago, Friday... the timing's right but the memory's wrong, plus something about the message is off. I don't want to raise a false alarm, but I'm confused.

A lot of people put their location and age boxes as "secret" if they want to remain anonymous.

Yeah, but the name showed up as my own last night... some kind of glitch with my iPad, maybe?

I consider it a version of social media, but I like it and trust it far more than more conventional social media platforms, such as Facebook, Instagram, etc. (which I don’t use).

Yes. Most definitely. At first when I joined a couple of years ago, I told my Mom, and I also thought that it would be a place to get advice for writing, and other things for writing, (which I'm not saying it isn't-Inkwell is a great place for that,) but over the years, I've discovered that it's not exactly what I first thought it was.

So yes, I do think it's a social media. I don't think it's bad though. I'm not saying I hate Cricket/the CB-I love it here!! It's a really great place and environment, and the Admins make sure to carefully read over every post, and comment. There is so many good things I love about the CB. :)

I think it's a lot more like a chat forum than social media--not that I'm on social media, (I wishhh) but this isn't something where we're talking all about ourselves and connecting with real-life friends and posting pictures of our lives--it's more like just talking about things or writing stories. Who ever writes stories on social media?

No, I don't.

Good question. My answer, to say it simply, is no, it's far more meaningful and safe than regular social media apps.

The purpose of the CB is to allow interactions/conversations between people, so yes, I consider the CB a social media.

I think that the CB is a rare form of a social media, one that does not put the focus on you, but more on others and productivity.

Ooh, I like that.

I do see The CB as a social media, but since it's monitered, it's a lot safer and much more welcoming then other social medias.

*P. S. I Googled the defenition of social media:

noun "websites and applications(apps) that enable users to create and share content or to participate in social networking."

So, by legal defenition, it is a social media, but I'll do some more digging.

OK, after scrolling through a couple websites, I found that according to the Merriem-Websters Dictionary (which has been around since the 18th century), social media is "forms of electronic communication through which users create online communities to share information and personal content."
