Hallo fellow human

Chatterbox: Down to Earth

Hallo fellow human

Hallo fellow human beings!

I've been getting Cricket for about five years, and only just now discovered Chatterbox! Well, I've always somewhat known of its existence, but never thought of going on it. I'm so happy there's actually people my age with real vocabularys who share similar interests! I'm still figuring out how to use it... I don't know if I'm doing it correctly.

I've been homeschooled for almost my entire life. I like to draw, and paint sometimes, and I'm planning on going to art school for college. I also love to write books and poetry.

I listen to music almost every hour of every single day, I have a very wide range of taste. I really like music that makes me very emotional and sounds like it could be in the soundtrack of a movie at the very emotional climax. And I like music that just makes me happy.

My favorite movie is Moonrise Kingdom, and my favorite show is The Wonder Years. Both are set in the 60's which is funny.

I recently discovered how fun running can be, and now track is my new favorite sport. (It used to be soccer). My favorite distance to run is 400 meters, although I can't say that with too much confidence because I haven't tried them all yet.

There's so many more things I like, but too much to say right now. Does anyone else run track?

PS I'm a Libra

Hello! (Although, I am only half human being. The other half is dragon). How are you? Welcome! I'm spiffycat, and I joined in January, which was also when I started to get Cricket.

I love lemonade and writing and dragons and art, and I have a very good time here!

I hope you will too . . .

Hi Spiffycat! Thank you for the welcome! I'm doing good.

I should have known that everyone here isn't completely human (:

Hey! I'm Gracia. I've been here for a bit over a year. I run track! I'm not very good at it, though. My favorite track event is the 100 meter, and my favorite field is long jump. Art school sounds fun! Anyways, if you have any other questions, just ask!

Hey! I actually do long jump as well! And the 100 is what I was originally planning on doing because I like to sprint, but I had to do some other things one meet because I missed the sign up day and discovered I like slightly longer distances.

Hi, Little Mercury! It seems we have a lot in common- I like to write novel(la)s and poems too, and I also like lots of different music. I'm not a track runner, but lots of my classmates are.

Hi Soren Infinity! Thanks for the guide! What are some of your favorite bands and/or songs? I love discovering new music. I'd happily give you some recommendations too.

Hmm... well, I like Alt. and Indie rock, soft rock, and pop rock, so I like Imagine Dragons, Mumford and Sons, Bastille, Of Monsters and Men, Train, The Script,  Mat Kearny, Florence+ The Machine, and Coldplay, but not Panic! at the Disco, Twenty-One Pilots, Cage the Elephant, or Lana Del Ray. I like musicals, but I've only listened to Les Miserables, Hamilton, and Dear Evan Hansen, and I'm not a fan of most pop- Ed Sheeran and a few others are exceptions. My least favorite genres are classical, heavy metal, pop, and most rap, but I like almost everything else.

My favorite songs... almost everything by Imagine Dragons, "Counting Stars" by One Republic, "Requiem" from Dear Evan Hansen,  "Viva La Vida" by Coldplay, and a few others. Sorry, that was a lot of text!

Heyyy! I'm Leafy, formerly Leafpool, and I'm homeschooled too! We actually have quite a few homeschoolers on here. Currently, I'm in the wonderfully fun process of trying to decide whether I want to go to public school for 9th grade this fall.

I love art and poetry too! We have a poetry thread where you can post your poetry, if you want. It's here. I also like music--do you have any recommendations? I like pop, rap, and...other things; mostly stuff with a good beat. ;) I like artists like Taylor Swift, Alessia Cara, and Billie Eilish. But I don't have a super widespread knowledge of artists so I can always use recommendations.

Welcome to the CB!

Hey Leafy! I'm actually also in the wonderfully fun process of figuring out if I want to go to public school for 9th grade this fall! I'm already signed up, but still deciding. I wanted to go so I could do things that come with school, like dances and sports, and so I could make some more friends. And just to try it to see what it's like. But being somewhere all day every day surrounded by people doesn't sound great to me. I'm not that shy, but I'm really introverted and want to be able to have time at home where I can chill out and do things I like to do. We figured out out that there's kind of a charter school I could go to where I could still do sports for my home school, so that's an option.

I'd happily give you music recommendations! Here are some artists you should listen to:

Aurora, (I know Billie Eilish was really inspired by her)  Superorganism, AJR, Sigrid, Grouplove, Future Generations, and the Beastie Boys. The Beastie Boys are rap from the 80's and might not be what you're used to but you should try the album Solid Gold Hits.

(:

That's cool--I'm kind of on the opposite side of what you're thinking; I feel like homeschooling just really doesn't work so well for me because I'm kind of a social person and I don't deal well with being alone or just with my family for so long. I have a few friends who are homeschooled, but I only see them infrequently and I feel like I need to get out into the world! I always thought I wanted to go to high school, but I'm a little indecisive about it now because there are some homeschooling things that I would miss, like my co-op and sort of being able to spend time doing what I want.

Thanks for the recommendations! I've heard the Beastie Boys, my dad likes their music. I'm not the biggest fan, but they are pretty good.

Hello and Welcome to the CB! My name is June, I’m a gender fluid (pronouns; they/Them/theirs)  and I’ve been on for around three years. If you have any questions, feel free to ask!

I am also a homeschooler, and enjoy writing novels (and poetry, though, none of it is really great :D). I’ve never done track, but it sounds fun! Though, I’m more of a fencing kind of person ;). I haven’t actually done any real fencing, but, I taught myself the rules/techniques, and I fence with a stick. XD.

I also enjoy listening to music that makes me feel emotional, so that’s another thing we have in common!

I’m a Gemini, if anybody hadn’t guessed, XD.

Hey June! That's awesome you like fencing! I've always thought fencing was a cool sport.

It's funny how many people here are homeschoolers!

What's some of your favorite kind of music?

Hi Little Mercury! (Can I call you just Mercury?)

I'm OrangeAndTealMermaid, or OATmer if you prefer.  I'm homeschooled too, though I am taking several classes at my local high school as well.  I like to sing and dance, and choir is one of my favorite activities!  I'm actually looking into getting a music degree in college and then doing music therapy in hospitals.  I can't really talk much about sports because I don't really like any except for show choir, but I know there's plenty of people on here who do!  I've been here on and off since I was 12, and even though I don't actually get Cricket anymore it's still lots of fun!  I'd encourage you to check out Pudding's Place, there's lots of fun games there to help get you situated with the CB format!

Hello Little Mercury. I am Spell Caster and have been on here for a few months. My sister is a Libra but I'm a Taurus. Please tell me there are other Twenty One Pilots fans on here. Imagine Dragons? Mumford and Sons? I like running as well but I don't take it as a sport. Well hope to see you around.
