Spooky thing: Toasters.

There has never been a time where I haven't been jumpscared by a toaster. Even when I'm expecting it to pop, it still manages to startle me. Why!?   I t ' s   a   t o a s t e r

How about a Jack-in-the-box? I think it's the scariest toy for little children. Maybe you were traumatized by one when you were little and your fear has transferred to the toaster.

Let's see. The screen door leading to my porch is broken; it's supposed to close and stay closed on its own, but my dad removed the spring that enabled that, so now it swings loosely when pushed. Not long after the change, I went into the room with that door when it was dark out, and--bang!

I nearly jumped out of my skin before I remembered my mom saying that it opened and closed, hard, in the wind. 

(Not really all that spooky, I suppose. Ah well.)
