CBer Chat Thread

I was reading through some of the CB Confessions on the old thread, and I noticed people saying things that really resonated with me - that they didn’t connect with a lot of CBers, that they didn’t have close friends here, that they never had a chance to just chat.

And so I decided to make this thread.

The goal is for CBers to engage in lighthearted, not-just-to-advance-a-story, as-if-we’re-sitting-around-a-lunch-table chatting. It’s like an AE chat thread, but with CBers. That’s it. No rules, no nothing. (Although I will ask, on behalf of all the CBers out there that feel overlooked, that we try to reply to everyone, not just our “friends.”)

Cool! So, how’s everyone doing today? I’m feeling a bit bored, because it’s a weekend and I have no work to do, but that’s also kinda nice. How about you?

It's sunny here for the first time in weeks, and I'm about to take a walk outside, so I'm feeling good! This morning's sunrise made me realize how much I'd missed the sun!

So, I felt the need to chat about this, so I'm glad I found this thread!

Yesterday, I was in social studies class, my last period of the day. It had been rainy the entire day, but the rain suddenly turned into a torrential downpour. Our principal came over the loudspeaker and informed teachers to keep students away from windows. So we were all awkwardly sitting on the floor, away from the windows. A few minues later, the door opened and somehow, everyone started pouring into the hallway. I stepped out the door and the entire middle school was there, crouched against the wall. It was kind of terrifying, and I have never heard my school so quiet. Thankfully, everyone was safe and we got to go home early. But it was the scariest thing that's ever happened at my school

Anyway, today was a good day other than the fact that a tree fell in the middle of the road I use to get to school, and one of the big road signs kind of fell over completely. It was cold, but the weather was better. But anyway, bye! Yodel!

Wow, Mary! That seems crazy, I'm glad everyone was okay.

We had another snow day today. Well, it was actually an ice day. School was cancelled because there was ice on the roads. I'm kinda surprised we had two in a row!

We've only had a few minor snowfalls so far this winter, which is out of the ordinary. No snow days yet, only one unnecessary early dismissial from school because of supposed snow. Yesterday was a weird day weather wise. The morning was warm for winter, and it rained really, really hard and even thundered a little. Then, by afternoon, it was colder and we got a few flurries of snow, but that was it. I'm crossing my fingers for a snow day at some point!

Wow, it seems like everyone's winter has been really weird. I live in the South so we usually don't get more than one snow a year, and there's usually a couple unseasonably warm days, but this year there have probobly been almost 2 or 3 weeks altogether of days that got into the 60s and 70s. I guess that's climate change. And last Thursday we had early release for tornado and flash flood warnings, and school off on Friday, which was really nice since nothing worse than a couple trees down actually happened, but weird. It was probably the same storm system as Majestic Mary talked about, although her experience seemed a lot scarier. Anyway I'm glad this thread was made, since most people probobly don't know me and I would love to get to know people.

It's been snowing on and off for a few days now! We've got a lazy Sunday today, which is nice.

Same! It's about in the 50s where I am.

Like DoodleGirl, I don't get much snow. What's weird is that yesterday, the next town over (which is like ten miles away) got almost two inches! We only got flurries and ice. Lots of ice.

I live in the Seattle area and get about 2 inches of snow a year. It’s been raining like crazy though and the valley is super flooded. The farmland looks like a lake and one of the gas stations had to close. It’s crazy.

I live in Seattle, too! This year, we had a little bit of snow, and the schools gave us like three 2-hour delay days. On the one day it didn’t snow at all, we had the day off. If they’re going to give us a day off, at least let there be snow! I went over to my friend’s house one day, and her trampoline was snowy and frozen. It made this weird creaking noise when we stepped on it.

Hi!  Today's my birthday, and my school had a half day, so that is a plus. Presents: Fancy pens/markers, two sweatshirts, and some other stuff. Oh, and 3 records. I've listened to my new copy of Chicago two times alread, and I'm immensely proud. I like "Cell Block Tango". While typing this, I am listening to two specific songs by Owl City: Fireflies and When Can I See You Again. Over and over again. Does anyone else have songs they could listen to 100 times in a row and not get bored?

...Hey! Turns out my best friend is coming over for a sleepover!! This impromptu stuff almost never happens, so I'm excited. YEEEE!! Anyway, that's my schpeel for the day!! Signing off, your friend                                                                                                                      Sirfire

I just had a really awesome time because I went on a "date" with my crush (maybe girlfriend, I don't know). It was casual, but really fun. We went to get ice cream and her phone started acting weird. It was at 80%, then died, then somehow came back to life at 48%, died again, and then came back at 34%. She has an iPhone 5e, so I'm not surprised because it's ancient. After the ice cream, we went to Starbucks and saw a whole bunch of kids from our school. One of them was the one who gave me advice on this whole thing, and she eagerly asked me how it went.

So yeah.

Aw, sweet! Congratulations. That phone thing is odd. Random; but what ice cream did you get? What ice cream did your crush get? Wait, was it sorbet, instead? Or maybe frozen yogurt? (Sorry I always assume people like my random facts and questions). (Usually they don't.) :l Wow I wonder why

Yesterday my school had a night dance, and one of my friends got asked to the dance by her crush. So when we did all these group photos, the group took a photo, and I started yelling at my friends crush, saying, “Scoot closer to her!”. Then his friends caught on and also started yelling. The whole group ran out of the shot, leaving only those two. So pretty much the whole 6th grade was yelling  and cheering. It was pretty funny, and I think I enjoyed it more than my friend did.
