Hi all! I’m new here so I decided I’d better introduce myself.
I’m really excited to meet all the CBers and to see all your postings.
I love playing violin, dancing, practicing Aikido, reading, writing, listening to music and being outdoors. Some things I like are: sunsets and sunrises, dawn and twilight, the night sky, imagining things and birds of prey(especially Peregrine Falcons).
I have been playing violin for quite a while now and it’s one of the things I couldn’t live without. I don’t think I want to be a professional violinist but I plan to keep playing my whole life.
I am a little overprotective of my instrument because I care for it a lot. Is anyone else like that?
Music is a really big part of my life. There is almost never a day when I don’t listen to or make music.

Hello cerinthe! Aikido is a Japanese martial art. It focuses on energy and trying to identify a situation before it gets bad. If you are interested in learning more about it try reading The Way of Aikido by George Leonard. It’s a great book.

I enjoy playing and listening to bluegrass/folk and classical music. I mostly play classical music but often I will play bluegrass for fun.
I wrote little snippets of songs when I was first learning how to read music but I have never written pieces or songs. I would love to hear your trio. Why did you name it Astra?

I love music too. I play clarinet and sing. I have been singing since I was really little. I only started clarinet a couple years ago, but I really like it.
I also love to read! What are some of your favorite books? I like the Wings of Fire series. I also like A Dog's Purpose and the other two books in that series.

My favorite books are the Swallows and Amazons series by Arthur Ransome. I also really like books by Jean Craighead George.
