Chatterbox: Down to Earth

Coronavirus thread! On

Coronavirus thread! On this thread post what you do each day during quarantine, so people who are bored can get ideas. Today I sewed a shirt for my AG doll, went for a walk and hid some painted rocks, read, a lot, and generally lounged around. I cleaned my room a little bit and went outside. I also fought with my brother. I do not recommend this as a daily thing to do during quarantine. ;-)     Oh, and duh, I came on the CB.

I take a walk every day in my neighborhood and as I go I look and listen for signs of spring. Crocuses are blooming now, daffodils have buds, cardinals and robins singing. One house I pass has a trio of dogs in a big pen at the side of the house. On some days they howl in harmony, so I call them the singing dogs. Other days they are quiet or inside the house. Every day there's something new. And reading comments from all you Chatterboxers is fun, too. There's always something new, and your writing is so creative! I am thankful for all of you and for the internet!

I haven't been allowed to leave the house much, sadly. Yesterday I sat on my roof for a while. The view is really pretty, I'll post a picture sometime. You can see the ocean on one side and the mountains on the other. I embrodered a rainbow on the sleeve of my jacket.

My parents are still pretty lax about hanging with friends. They aren’t making me stay six feet away from everyone. I am behind on schoolwork, and I have a ton of extra stuff from my dad, so I work on that. I’m not working fast at all so that takes a lot of time. My parents are avid birdwatchers, so we’ve gone to lots of nature reserves and stuff like that. I practice music a lot each day. Recently I fell in love with my mom’s bike, so I go on a bike ride almost every day. Sometimes by myself, others with dad or friends. I might take an online creative writing class. I also try to work on my NaNo novel or at least do a writing excersize. And I read! A lot! And talk to y’all here and on NaNo. Lastly, some of my friends do a video chat every day. I join in almost every day, but I haven’t the past few days because I was avoiding one of my friends- she was just getting on my nerves. My cat, as seen below, is certainly enjoying the sun.

Well I just spent over an hour having a rap battle with my best friend over video chat cause we’re both bored out of our minds, so that’s something...

Oh and I’ve also been doing an insane amount of art! Like, I started a new sketchbook yesterday night and I’ve already filled eight pages. So. And I’ve been playing way too many video games lol

And I’ve been FaceTiming my friends of course. I don’t know how long I could survive without video chat in these trying times...

Ikr! We’ve been talking to our grandparents almost every day, and playing dnd over FaceTime. If any of you like poetry and tea, then something my family does is drink tea and eat scones while reading poetry. We particularly like Shel Silverstein.

Shel Silverstein is awesome, Dolphin! And yeah without Zoom and the CB and stuff I'd be even crazier than I usually am.

I've been a full-time online schooler since the beginning of MS (for me, 6th grade), so my school hasn't really changed, but on the other hand it feels weird not to talk with friends face-to-face.

I like watching videos on DIY stuff and getting inspired and making my own art, and I've been designing a D&D module and working on my NaNo novel. And of course reading and drawing. I watched some new movies.

Come to think of it I've kinda been doing my regular stuff.

Also, Calvin and Hobbes is a lifesaver at a time like this.

Well, I've talked to my grandma on the phone, drew some comics called "Nikki and Natasha" for my firends after this whole thing is over, played video games yesterday, went in my backyard, did my homeschool things, did my chores, played with my cats, wrote in ym book, read some books that my mom got me and heres a tip: When you get mail, put on those glove thingys, then get a garbage bag or a shopping bag, then take the mail and put it in the bag and then put it in your car for a day or two. That's what I'm doing. And I'm also taking a bath, listening to music, going on the CB, and watching my movie!

I still have school, but it's online now. In my free time I've mostly been drawing, practicing my instruments, prepping for Camp NaNo, FaceTiming my friends, working out, taking walks with my family, and I've gotten into crossword puzzles, funnily enough. My friends and I have also been writing letters to one another, which is really fun! I like to draw in them and use paper cutouts to make them all pretty, and it's always fun to get letters. :)

I've been kind of bored and I miss school and being around people. I'm very much an extrovert so it's a bit difficult for me, but otherwise I feel very lucky that I and my family are safe and happy and financially secure. I'm just going to try and make the best of it until it blows over!

I've been having online school, which is nice for the semblance of normality. But basically everything else has been canceled, which is really depressing.

In my free time, I go on walks with my mom, read books, scroll through various things on the Internet (like the CB!), and work on the thing that's supposedly the start of a novel, but honestly I don't know if it'll ever get there. :) I've also been somewhat productive - this month I actually entered the Cricket poem contest!!!

I've literally done like, every single one of those things, including the latch hook kit. I think I'm just going to do all of them every single day after I finish my online schoolwork. (I'm not homeschooled, but my school has switched over to online classes for who knows how long)

today I sewed, played an online science game, did math, wrote, played wii tennis and baseball, played a game with my friends on zoom, ate ;-) , played violin, and came on here! Also rode my bike, my scooter, and flung my shoes off my feet from the swing. Ooh, and listened to Melissa Wiley read the Prairie Thief! She’s amazing!
