Chatterbox: Down to Earth

Coronavirus thread! On

Coronavirus thread! On this thread post what you do each day during quarantine, so people who are bored can get ideas. Today I sewed a shirt for my AG doll, went for a walk and hid some painted rocks, read, a lot, and generally lounged around. I cleaned my room a little bit and went outside. I also fought with my brother. I do not recommend this as a daily thing to do during quarantine. ;-)     Oh, and duh, I came on the CB.

I take a walk every day in my neighborhood and as I go I look and listen for signs of spring. Crocuses are blooming now, daffodils have buds, cardinals and robins singing. One house I pass has a trio of dogs in a big pen at the side of the house. On some days they howl in harmony, so I call them the singing dogs. Other days they are quiet or inside the house. Every day there's something new. And reading comments from all you Chatterboxers is fun, too. There's always something new, and your writing is so creative! I am thankful for all of you and for the internet!

*gasp* @Evergreen, I LOVE Calvin and Hobbes!! I am a Calvin and Hobbes enthusiast. So. Anyway I've been doing alot of stuff outside, and working on redoing my room. Actually, I started redoing my room, like, a year ago but now I'm almost done. Also I'm doing yoga, which is really relaxing, and a lot of art, reading, and tv. Oh, and I'm making a fairy garden. I'll post a pic of it when I'm done. Smashing plant pots is a very good stress reliever.

Here are some fun things that I have been doing that I recommend!

- Bake something. I've made baguettes and apple pie!

- Do exercise videos

- Camp NaNo/writing (join our cabin!)

- Drawing/painting. I painted some of my drumsticks and my wall.

- Origami (very relaxing)

- Listen to podcasts!

- Watch TV/movies (not too much though)! If you haven't watched it, WATCH INTO THE SPIDERVERSE!! I've already watched it 3 times this month.

- Embroidery. I started doing embroidery two days ago and it's so fun!

- Listen to music! I'm currently listening to Kid Krow by Conan Gray.

- Do a puzzle. My family just did a 2000 piece one!

A couple nights ago my neighborhood cheered for all the health care workers.  The idea that every night at 8:00pm you cheer, shout, clap, sing, play music for the health care workers started in Italy.  My neighborhood did this. Did anyone else do this?

Peregrine, I did not do this, but we have relatives in Italy and have watched videos of the singing. My mom is making face masks for the hospital near here.

Yeah, Peregrine, we did do that! One night, us Seattleites sang a song called Don't Stop by Fleetwood Mac. My family had a kazoo, a harmonica, and a piano on hand.

My sister and I went outside and played Chorus from Judas Maccabeus by Handel on our violins.  It was so cold.  Our vibrato was effortless because of our shivering.

I love that song! I play violin too, and so does my brother. For my Suzuki book 2 recital I played the second part while my brother did the first part and my teacher did the third. It sounded amazing! I am currently working on vibrato, I do not know it fully yet.

I’ve played Chorus from Judas Maccabeus with the two duet parts before.  It sounds really good with all the parts.  I used to have one of the duet parts memorized but I have forgot it now.

I started learning vibrato a few years ago and I am proficient at it, but I’m still working on getting it even better.  I think it’s one of those things you never stop working on.  I hope your vibrato learning is going well for you and continues to go well!

Today I rode my bike, cleaned my room a little bit, made a log out of sculpey, (I’ll attach a pic) watched TV, listened to podcasts, and did violin.

I decided to learn to draw! So I looked up like 20 different tutorials on how to draw bodies and faces and stuff. It's been fun so far!

I'm also homeschooled, so I've been still doing that. We have a large lot so I've been climbing trees a lot. Also reading and playing with out four goats.
Since my sister isn't doing her collage classes I have been using our shared phone to text my friends. TECHNOLOGY IS THE BEST!

Besides that, I'm enjoying being able to see a lot more of my family, especially my dad who has been working from home.
