Rant Thread

>>This has been made before, I forget by who. I don't really remember whether of not it turned out well, so if not please ignore this!!! You can rant on Random Thoughts/Things, or a different thread, or wherever.

I'm going to try to explain this. Rant Thread, is well.. a thread for rants ._. If you're going through a hard time, or something about the world just really bugs you, talk about it here. You don't need to be ranting about heavy subjects. You can rant about how pencils drop and disappear into the third dimension, if you feel like it!

Try not to be too personal. Or say anything that the Admins might have to clean up. Try not to anyways.

You don't have to share everything or anything. You can comment a frowny face and kind CBers will already start virtually hugging you. :)

Keep arguments to an absolute minimum. No rudeness either, though I amn't very worried about that on such a wonderful place as the CB.

My brother. And quarantine. And yeah. The cat that sounds like she’s a frog. The fact that our pets don’t get along. It’s hot. I miss my grandparents. :(

My family disagreeing over every little thing.

Not being able to leave the HOUSE without a mask.

Not seeing my friends.

Maybe no school next year! (well, no in-person school. ugh.)

Yager says em. Do you want to talk to Emekittycon?

-Masks. I can't BREATH through the things!

-when the cat fights, because I'm afirid that I'll get hurt, which stinks. And it's painful too.

-Snakes. Those things are CREEPY.

-Spiders. WHY DO THEY EXIST?!

-Giant muskatoes. They are also creepy.

-School. It's BORING. It is also too hard for me to understand. Why is school a thing?

-Avocadoes. I really don't care for avocadoes.

-The fact that I had to have surgery on my thigh in January. I felt like I was DYING!

-And the fact that sharks are a thing. I am not going in the ocean anytime soon.

I agree that masks are annoying! However, if you can't breathe through your mask, it's possible that it just doesn't fit you very well. It's quite understandable if your mask is hot or stuffy or uncomfortable, but you should be able to breathe normally.

Also, I totally agree about spiders! Ahhh! The other day, I was getting dressed, and I saw this tiny spider crawling up the leg of the pants I was about to put on. *shudders*

I think you might have meant giant mosquitoes :)

Well actually spiders exist to control the bug population. Without them there would be even MORE giant mosquitoes. But yeah, they are pretty creepy. I have more rants but I don't feel like typing anymore.

In Defense of Snakes, Spiders, and Sharks (love the alliteration there)

As for snakes, most kinds of snakes won't hurt you. Also, they play an important part in the ecosystem, and they keep some animals that humans call pests under control, like mice, and rats. Some nonvenomous snakes even eat venomous snakes that are dangerous to people. Lastly, they are living creatures. Contrary to most peoples's opinion, snakes do have feelings and personalities, and if it makes you feel any better 80% don't have venom.

Doodlegirl got a lot of the spiders part. They eat things like mosquitos and flies, but also some garden pests, and you have to admit that their silk is AWESOME. So far, humans haven't been able to make anything like it. As with snakes, most of them don't have a venomous bite, but obviously stay far away from the black widow and brown recluse of course. And humans aren't the only worthy-of-life beings on this planet! (Honestly I'd say we're the least...)

Lastly, sharks. There are a lot of kinds of sharks - leopard sharks, basking sharks, whale sharks, goblin sharks, greenland sharks, nurse sharks, and probably a lot of other kinds I don't remember - that will only rarely attack humans - like the vast majority of animals, they can attack, but also like the vast majority of animals, they probably aren't going to. (This isn't saying you should hang out in the water with most kinds of sharks, excluding the whale shark of course.) In fact, even great white and tiger sharks are probably not going to attack you. Also, sharks are VERY important to the ecosystem. Many of them are apex predators, and if there weren't apex predators that would be VERY bad.

All of these animals are really interesting and, though you don't have to start loving them, they definately do have a reason to exist and and all of them are being opressed, often greatly, by humans. 2.4% of 440 shark species are critically endangered; 3.2% are endangered;10.3% are vulnerable; and 14.4% are near threatened. Spiders aren't doing too badly but it certainly is cruel that they're killed by many people each day. And 382 snake species are endangered, and a lot of others aren't doing well. I'd say that humans are doing much worse to snakes, spiders, and sharks than said animals are doing to us.

That turned out longer than intended.

I like spiders and snakes.

(I like bugs a lot. Search spider centipede. I even like that thing. Okay maybe a little disgusting, even I have limits xD)

Sharks are cool but I prefer shark mermaids. (i like the pointy teeth tho)

I reallyreallyreally want to go to the craft store, but I can't. Staying home keeps me safe and others safe, but I really wish I could go. There's only so much online shopping one can do.

You'll be able to go back someday. And by staying home now, and wearing a mask whenever you do need to go out, you help bring us closer to the end of the pandemic.

Masks, just.. screech. At least I could use a bandana.  I don't even go out that much.  but still

Health experts say that if everyone would just wear a mask, the virus could be brought under control in three to four weeks, then schools and businessses could reopen more safely. That's something pretty simple to do to have such a dramatic effect on the pandemic. I'm in. Are all of you?

The fact that people are protesting against wearing the masks. I, of course, understand that it's uncomfortable. I don't like wearing them. But I wear it anyway, because there are people dying everyday, and there are people losing loved ones every day, and your worried about putting a piece of cloth over your mouth? Get. Real. I saw this comment on a popular website that said: if you hate wearing a mask, you're really going to hate wearing a ventilator.

So yeah. It's uncomfortable, but we're all in this together. And if we all work together, the country can open back up and we can stop all this nonsense. So please, for the sake of every person on this planet, wear a mask!

*ahem* thank you for listening to my TedTalk.

Totally with you, Admin, just wish everyone would do the smart, the safe, and the loving thing so we could all go back to our normal lives. Not complaining, though. I like/am used to staying home most of the time, but I know it's a lot harder for other people. <3

Jesus said to them, "It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners."

I wish that more people answered the call. I wish that our country wasn't confused morally. I wish that everyone had a Bible that they read and understand the sorrow I feel when I come onto the CBer sometimes.

I wish that people could speak their mind, without the fear of offending someone. I wish that more people would stop and really spend some time thinking about what it means to "be in another's shoes."

I care for everyone here, I feel as if you're my friends. I can't even post this under my real name, because I know that some of you here would only get upset and angry, because you don't want to believe that there is one true God.

I'm praying for you all.

I know... it's deep, but saving people's lives is serious.

@A Concerned Person, I have several things to say.

One: you shouldn't be afraid to post under your real name when saying what you believe. People might disagree, but I think everyone here is above attacking people's beliefs/religion/thoughts.

Two: I have to admit I'm one of those people. I myself am not a religious person, but that doesn't mean I won't respect your beliefs.

Three: I agree with your entire third paragraph, most of your second paragraph, and some of your fourth. The one thing that kind of bothered me the most is about there being one true God. Many people believe that, but not everyone does. Just try to keep that in mind.

Fourth: I really hope it doesn't seem like I'm shouting at you from another time and place, because I'm not. I'd just like you to know that people have different beliefs, and there's not one universal one.

And fifth: your comment about speaking your mind, You have every right to do that. However, you also can't tell someone they're wrong because they believe in a different god or have a different religion. It hurts people.

Finally, I'm not trying to be mean or rude here, but please just try to keep in mind the face that here on the CB, you don't know what other people believe. Everyone here has the right to believe whatever they choose to, and they're not wrong just because you don't agree.

@Admin, I totally get if you edit any of this comment. It's a sensitive subject, and if anything I said was hurtful, I apologize, because that really wasn't my intent.

I think you said all very well, Luminescence. Thank youl
