Do you think

Chatterbox: Down to Earth

Do you think

Do you think that playing the piano would keep you from getting frostbite (assuming you had one with you in Antarctica or whatever)

First of all, I love the irony of your location field. Was that on purpose?

Second, I think it would depend on a few things. Some people play the piano in a way that it would almost qualify as a sport. They put their entire heart and soul into their playing, and they play so hard that it actually heats them up. Other people barely touch the keys, and it won't do anything. So, I think it would depend on how you play the piano. Also, what clothes you are wearing. If you are wearing a tank top and shorts, even the most enthusiastic playing would not save you. But if you are wearing proper Antarctica clothing, then you could get by with the tapping of keys.

That is such an interesting question.

Also, hi cerinthe! It's nice to see you!

cerinthe!! Hiii!

Anyway, probably not? It would keep the circulation going in your fingers, but I'm not sure it would keep them warm. I don't know enough about frostbite OR playing the piano to know.

Although, if you were somewhere that was so cold that you would get frostbite, why exactly would you have a piano with you?

Hi, cerinthe!

I have no clue. Probably not. I don't think it would keep anything but your fingers warm, at least that's what I'm assuming. I've never played the piano outside in cold weather XD (or for that matter, outside at all).

Definitely not. In fact, I think it would increase your chances of getting frostbite. Because your fingers are exposed (they have to be, unless you're planning to wear gloves) then they're more susceptible to the cold air. I don't think you can compensate for the temperature, no matter how much you move your arms around on the keyboard.

Also, hi cerinthe! It's good to see you!

Hi cerinthe!! <3 I think it depends on the clothing situation. If you are wearing gloves, I think it would help keep your hands warmer because your hands are very succeptable to frostbite. If your hands are exposed, touching the cold keys would probably make it worse.

cerinthe!! Great to see you. Um, I think piano would help, but it couldn't keep it off for long.
