So uh, as some of you probably noticed, I dropped off the face of the CB awhile back. I don't remember when it was, really. I didn't mean to leave. I just sort of drifted away slowly. Months went by. When I thought about checking in, I got overwhelmed. I had been gone so long, and I felt a bit guilty, and surely I had missed so much, and it felt like a lot to catch up on. And life was--and is--busy. And hard. And 2020 has been a wild ride for everyone, which didn't help. So I pushed it aside.
I've been meaning to check in for awhile, so here I finally am. I've missed this place, and you guys, so much. I see a few familiar faces, and a lot of new ones! How are you all? How are things on the CB? And what about you, Admins?
As for me, nothing very exciting has been going on, but I'll give a few updates. I'm 16 now, and no, I don't have my license or my permit yet, but I'm hoping to get my permit soon. I'm still homeschooling, I'm a junior this year, and school is so much harder. It is, in fact, destroying my already deteriorating mental health, heh heh. Some of you might know that Leafy and I have kept in touch while I was away, and we talk regularly now. She's become one of my closest friends. :) I took a pretty long hiatus from writing, a several month break after I finished redrafting my novel in the spring. I've been keeping up with art and I'm now thinking of pursuing it as a career. I dyed my hair blue in the summer (it's still murky green on the ends lol) and I've become very active on another website and have almost 200 followers. I'm starting to get into writing poetry again. And I'm very excited for Christmas!
I'm not sure how long I'll be here, but I'm going to try to be active on this thread, at least. I'm glad to see that my Random Thoughts thread is still going strong, haha. Maybe I'll post on the art and poetry threads, who knows.

It's good to hear from you, Leeli! We Admins are all fine. Our whole staff has been working from home since last spring. We're staying well, but miss seeing each other in person.

That's awesome that you're doing well! And that's really cool that you and Leafy can talk!
Lately I've been dropping off the face of the CB a lot, which I feel kinda guilty about. Truthfully, it hasn't really been a priority of mine at the moment because of life and stuff. I can't write too long because I have a lot of homework to do, so here's a few quick things about me recently:
- I passed my 3rd CBversary a couple months ago
- I'm currently a sophomore and in [fully remote] public school for the first time this year
- I've been more into art lately
I apologize for how random and quick I wrote this. I haven't been posting as often as I used to. :P

Yeah, I completely understand the busyness and dropping off the face of the CB thing. That's basically what happened with me. I'm really glad you were able to pop on though. :D
Congrats on your third CBversary! Ooh, how's public/online school? I've been more into art lately too. :P And don't worry about it, my posts are pretty random and quick now as well.

It's been pretty good, actually! It was definitely a refreshing change after 9 years of the homeschool group program we were a part of (it was great, just nice to switch up!). A lot of it is probably because I have some great teachers. The whole online system is working really well for me too. I'd like to blab on more but it's kinda hard to put all my thoughts into words. Ugh.
I don't know if you remember this whole conversation but I did end up making the cloak I wanted to make last year and your instructions were really helpful! I felt kinda bad because I said I would post a picture of it and I didn't. Anyway, I wore it last year and this year (and pretty much whenever I felt like it) and it's one of my favorite thing to wear now. Just another random thing. :)

I also wanted to say that I was also missing your beautiful Inktobers this year (not sure if you did it?). I actually got to finish it this year, though I only got around to posting half of them.

I want to try making one that's a little more complicated, like with a thicker material, some kind of lining, or one made from a circle (not sure what it's called), and I really want to make one like my CB appearance (kind of midnight galaxy). I think that would be really fun.
Yeah, I get that. A few days I had homework going past midnight or just forgot, so I did have to make up a few days. Some of them I literally did in the few minutes before midnight, so they aren't exactly great, but I did it haha.
