Hi! I'm new

Hi! I'm new to chatterbox. I have been getting the cricket magazine for a while now and thought chatterbox would be fun.

I love writing stories and I especially enjoy writing descriptions of the setting especially when it's in nature. Although writing is one of my favorite things to do, I am often nervous about sharing my creations with other people so it may be a little bit before I actually start posting my fiction writing.

Anyway you might be wondering, what on earth is a pangolin and why is it my namesake? They are actually the most illegally trafficked animals in the world and it's a wonder not many people haven't heard of it. Search a picture of them- they're really cool looking, basically an ant-eater with scales! They are critically endangered and people should be doing more to help them! Just thought I'd let you know about one of my favorite animals.

So before I submit this post I have a few questions. First, I was looking around chatterbox and I saw something called AE. What does this mean? And second, is what should I try first on chatterbox, like Down to Earth, Pudding's Place, etc? I am interested in filming/photography, Harry Potter, animals, and green living. Thanks!

As for the places you should check out - everywhere! Specifically, for your photography interests, there's a photography contest on Chirp at Cricket. There's also a Harry Potter thread on Blab about Books. As for animals and the environment, that stuff would probably go on Down to Earth, but I dunno if there's a thread on it currently. Maybe you could make one!

AE's are basically original characters you make that speak in different fonts or text brackets. Here's an example:
Hello pangolin! I'm Lada! One of Sammy's main AEs!
Heyyyyy pangolin! I'm Sojokeeynis, but you can call me Sojo.
Hello there comrade! I am Russian the Ivan Emu!

Sooo yeah! I do have a lot more AE's, since there's not a limit to them! They're basically just fun to have. :)

Blab about Books is the perfect place to talk about the Harry Potter series!
• Blab about Books is to talk about... books. And book series. It's like a huge book club! 
• Chirp at Cricket used to be for talking about Cricket Magazine, and for writing letters to the characters. But It's kinda turned into a second Down to Earth.
• Down to Earth is what I like to call the 'Freetime Channel'. It's fun threads and things not relating to writing, art, or Cricket Magazine.
• Inkwell is where the writing happens! Poems, RPs, Novels, Solowrites, and the new Rolewrites can be found there! (If your interested in RPs, I suggest joking my new RP you can find on the first page of Inkwell! If you don't know much about that and still want to join, I'd be happy to show you around!)
• Puddings Place is for art, and occasionally poetry and solowrites!

Heyyy guess what I actually know what a pangolin is! You're right, it's such a cool animal. Anyway heyo I'm Silver Crystal (Silver for short if you want) and welcome to the CB! I'm pretty new here, too, but it's already made such a big impression on me :) You can find photography contests around here somewhere (I think I got second on the last round) and there is an active Harry Potter thread on Blab About Books which you should check out. As for AE's and other CB lingo, the Ultimate Guide will explain it all to you. I also like writing and then being too nervous to show anyone, so we've got that in common.

Alter Ego is something that CBers make up, they're basically a side/personality of a CBer. Mine are Chang'e, Orion, and Selene.

Oh yeah I've heard of pangolins! They're really cute. A pangolin on the moon would be interesting!

Nice to meet you pangolin! I'm Peppermint, aka Pepper, and I joined the Chatterbox pretty recently. I just googled pangolins, and they are incredibly cool looking. I feel awful that they're so endangered. 

I'm also interested in green living! I became a pescatarian not too long ago to try reducing my carbon footprint, and I'm hoping to become a full vegetarian soon! Anyways, I hope to see you around!
