New thread idea,

Chatterbox: Down to Earth

New thread idea,

New thread idea, I don't know if anyone has already suggested it, but here it is.

Tell us about a certain tradition, custom, etc you really like that your school practices. You must describe how it works and tell why you like it.

I will start: In music class, grades 4 and up participate in a quarterly activity called a listening. We get four songs to study, in class and at home. Our notes must have the name of the piece, the composer, the composer's dates, the genre or the period of the piece, the instrumentation of the piece and a fun fact about the composer or the piece. We also have to listen to piece to get used to it.

At the end of each quarter our music teacher gives us a test We listen to all of the songs, and list them in the order they were played. Then we have to answer questions about all the things that are on our notes.

I really like this tradition because it allows me to discover new music.

Oo, that sounds cool! Our school doesn't have any special traditions that I can think of, but here's something:

So last year, my science teacher gave us these weekly warm-up sheets that had a space for a question and answer for each day, but there was always an empty box left, and I always doodle when I'm bored in class...so I somehow decided that every day, I would draw a person in that little box to represent how I was feeling that moment. We kept all of our warm-up sheets, so at the end of the year, I had a little drawing representing almost every single science class of the year! It was really cool to go back and see how my style changed and my moods differed! Plus my teacher said she liked seeing the drawings :)
