Chatterbox: Down to Earth

Welcome to the

Welcome to the first CB history club! This is a place for fellow history nerds to talk about important events in history like the civil war or the St. Dominique slave uprising. You can also talk about your favorite people in history and quotes! I really hope this attracts some attention because history is something I'm passionate about and I would love to talk with other people who feel the same way. So welcome to the official CB history club!

Hi! I love history but I can't say I'm anywhere close to very knowledgeable about it. This seems like a cool idea though- could you maybe post an idea/prompt to get the discussion started?

for my Black History Month school project, i've been researching Bayard Rustin! He strategized the March on Washington but never got credit because he was gay, and they didn't want him to be the face of their movement. he fought for equal pay for his whole life. it's a shame we weren't taught about him in school.

Thanks for sharing, I've never heard about him before but he sounds really cool! I'm going to have to research him. <3

I'm learning about the Revolutionary War, which is fun because it also ties in with Hamilton :)

Did you know Alexander Hamilton had red hair?

And apparently Oxford University in England is older than the Aztecs!

Also, has anyone one read Ben and Me or Mr. Revere and I both by Robert Lawson? They're historical fiction from the point of view of Benjamin Franklin's helpful mouse and Paul Revere's loyal horse.

Okay I'll post a prompt! What are your opinoins on the causes of world war one? (I think nationalism) @Admins I hope this is okay since it was a very bloody conflict

Ooh, yes. Actually, can someone explain to me what were the causes of WWI? I feel like there was murder involved but I really do not know.

Yeah, I think there was a murder involving austria-hungaria and Syria but honestly it is very confusing.

Oooooh! This sounds cool! For a black history month project I'm doing at school, I'm researching the Harlem Rennaisance.
