To all homeschooled

Chatterbox: Down to Earth

To all homeschooled

To all homeschooled kids out there....what's it like being homeschooled? Do you ever wish you went to public school or do you like homeschooling? What's your daily schedule like if you don't go to school? How much time a day do you spend on schoolwork? How do you meet friends? Do your parents teach you or do you go online for school? What's the best part of being homeschooled? If you could please reply (since I know you're out there on Chatterbox!), I've always wondered this sort of stuff.

I don't really wish that I went to public school.  Sometimes I wish I did, so I could see my friends more often, so they'd like me...   I (am supposed to) wake up at 8:30 and start school at 9:00.  Or at least I'm supposed to...  Sometimes I fall asleep again, though...  I usually do school until 2:00 in the afternoon.  I, ummm, don't really meet friends much...  Sometimes I meet people at homeschool places, like swim meets or writing classes.  I've met lots of friends here, though!!!  My mom teaches me most of the stuff, my dad teaches me math and science, and I do Spanish on the computer.  My friend does everything on the computer.  The best part, staying in my pajamas all day, getting to spend time with my mommy, and being able to go places during the day.  Do you ever want to be homeschooled?  It's awesome!!!Laughing

SmileI'm a get up at 6:30 kind of girl.Laughing No, I DO NOT wish I could go to a public school. I get to stay home all day, I get to finish school sooner, and I just love it! People may think that we're all cooped up in the house all day, but they're wrong. I have so many friends!!!!!!!

I get up whenever I wake up, which unfortunately is usually around ten or eleven. *shrugs sheepishly* Though, don't get me wrong, I'd much rather get up early!! I get so disoriented when I wake up at noon!!!! Cause at like four, I think it's noon, because I feel like I got up earlier!!!!!!! And for those who are wondering, no, I do NOT wake up refreshed!!! Too much sleep makes me sleepy!!!!!!!!!! Plus I go to bed really late... And then I do my work whenever I want. Sometimes in my pjs. I eat breakfast while I work too. But, you know, I must say, and I'm a little ashamed to, we mostly do unschooling. For those who don't understand, it means we basically get to skip school and do what ever we want. Which I totally LOVE, but still, I'm a little behind on my schooling... (which I don't love)

It is AWESOME to be homeschooled!! I don't think that I would want to go to public school. (I've never really thought about not being homeschooled!) I don't have to, but I get up at about 6:00 and start to do the work that I do on my own (sort of like homework) then I do work with my mom. I'm done with school at about 12:00. On some days after school we go visit some friends and do our activities. The best part of homeschooling is being able to stay home. I might not get to see my friends as much, but I get to see my family a lot more! :):):):):):):):):):)

Yes, I do want to be homeschooled sometimes, because the late bell at my school rings at 7:30! I get up at 5:55, feed the cat, get dressed (while reading), eat breakfast (while reading), and leave on my bike. Well, actually I would never want to be homeschooled, just jokingly when I half-fall asleep in 1st period. I love seeing my friends and teachers, and I would get bored just being with my sister, cat, and parents. Almost all my friends I see at school that I can't see at home. The teachers and electives are neat, too. I wouldn't trade public school for homeschooling personally, but I think that homeschooling is interesting. :) Oh, this may sound stupid, but do you get homework?

I love being homeschooled!! :) I get up at about 7:20, and finish school at about 1:00 or 2:00, depending on how much work I have. Good question about homework! I guess it's all homework, but I do have work that I do by myself (like writing a paper or doing a math assignment) without my mom. I get to see my friends all the time!! :)  Smile

I love homeschooling! I usually get up at around 7:30 and start school by 8:30. I am pretty much done with school by noon, except for Spanish which I do later in the afternoon. When people ask me if I get homework, I always tell them, "All my work is homework!" and smile. I also go to enrichment (extra fun classes) on Tuesday afternoons. For enrichment, the year is divided up into quarters, and this quarter I am taking drama and critical thinking. Both are really fun! Does anyone else out there do enrichment? If so, what do you take? What's your enrichment like?

I homeschool and do not want to go to public school at all. I have to get up at 7:30 and be started by somewhere inbetween 8:30 and 9:30. I go to something kind of like your enrichment thing. It has a lot of fun extra classes, but you can also take regular classes. For instance, I take a Drama class and a Math class. I also take Spanish.

I have been homeschooled all my life and I've never wanted to go to public school because my mom used to be a teacher and she has told me what it would be like. I have lots of friends from church, summer camp, activities, and classes, and my siblings and I make friends all the time. My mom has to help my dad with his business, and she doesn't always have time to focus on homeschooling, so we don't have much of a schedule when it comes to like the time we start school. Anyways, just don't get the idea that most homeschoolers do pretty much the same thing because that's not really true.
