Russo-Ukraine war

Fellow Chatterboxers,

Any thoughts about the war that's going on in Ukraine right now? I'm extremely glad that Apple, Microsoft, and Duolingo stopped selling their products in Russia! (Duolingo said that the reason they are doing that is not just as a form of protest, but also to avoid paying taxes to the Russian government).

Regards,

CAPTCHA says gamna. gamma rays? You are not fooling around with gamma rays, are you, CAPTCHA?

Wow, my CAPTCHA is such a mad scientist.

I'm so very sad about what's happening in Ukraine and am keeping the Ukrainian people in my prayers. Please note, however, that we will not post political comments or any others that we don't have time to verify.

My parents and I donated 500 dollars to try to help. It makes me so sad to hear about what's happening in the Ukraine. It seems crazy that people are fighting during covid.

Actually, where I live COVID is turning into an endemic instead of a pandemic (an endemic is where restrictions are slowing down after a pandemic and people are getting used to regular life again), but still it's so bad that this is happening. According to many sources including two I know I can trust, this is the largest humanitarian conflict since WWII.

If you want a good place to donate, try UNICEF. It is part of the UN and there is a special donating webpage where you can be sure that all your money is going to support people in Ukraine.

Oh! UNICEF! There's this musical group I absolutely LOVE that is run or something by UNICEF! The group is Kids United, if you were wondering. Cool(in some ways)!

It's really sad and scary (the war). Too many people's lves are in danger, and too many people have already lost them. At school, most days we say the prayer for peace in AM (this "class" where we pray. No idea why it's called A.M.). Also, at the end of this long prayer-string-thingy, the Amidah, we always sing 'Oseh Shalom' at the end, 'cause that's the end of the Amidah. It means basically that 'we pray for one thing above all: for Israel, the Jewish people, and the world that there should be peace.'  Especially for the world (even more now). I truly do not understand why anyone would want to start a war. Another thing at my school (and I know at others) is there's a box of stuff that you can add to that goes to a donation for Ukraine, and people fleeing Ukraine. There's a house across from my school, and there's a big Ukrainian flag on it. I've seen others houses that have that, too. I really hope the war ends soon. But not just ends. Ends with Russia not taking over Ukraine. Don't know how to end this comment. Well, how's this: Shalom! ('cause shalom means hello, goodbye, and peace)

It's so sad what is happening in Ukraine. I feel so helpless about it sometimes, but I'm so glad that you have found ways to help. Thank you for speaking up about it.

My church is also taking in some refugees from Afghanistan soon.

I recently saw a house that has an actual flag hanging from the bottom of the door, basically like a mini version of the super-big flags you see on the street, just it's a Ukraine one not an American one.

I have no idea why anyone would want to start a war like this.  I'm glad so many countries are taking in refugees so that their lives don't have to be in danger.

Captcha says "ezgvv". OK, "ez" means goat in Hebrew and "gvv" is a bee sound. CAPTCHA, "gvv" is not a goat sound, it is a bee sound.
