Same! I only sing in the shower or when I'm alone. Mostly songs from movies, but sometimes made-up things. Sometimes poems I write turn into songs. I should write poems more. I used to write them really often, but sadly I have a writer's block right now.

I have writers block right now too! I don't write poems but I used to write stories a lot more. I haven't really written since COVID though. I write songs with my dad sometimes- I play them on piano and he plays guitar. I feel like I would like writing poetry I've just never tried it. I also sing in the shower :)

I think I'm getting over the writer's block! At least, I better be, because I have an English essay due Friday. I didn't think it would carry over to my schoolwork :/
That's cool that you write songs with your Dad! What kind of songs?

I write more stories than songs. Usually fantasy stories. Sometimes they take place in the real world, and sometimes in a completely different land. I wrote a few mysteries for a while, but now I feel like doing twists on classic fairy tales.

Fantasy is my favorite genre to write in too! I also like realistic fiction but I love creating different worlds and creatures in fantasy writing. Mysteries sound fun to write too though I've never tried it. What genres do you like to read? I read the same that I write in mostly which makes sense I guess but I'll read in any genre if the story and writings good. I'm reading a good fantasy series now called the Unwanteds.

Yes, if I'm reading a certain genre, then I tend to write in that one too. I need to work on being more original with my writing- I always feel like I'm influenced by whatever series I'm reading at the moment.
I have exams Wednesday-Friday, and my whole day is basically get up, go to school, study, eat occasionally, study more, and more, and yeah. After this week is summer, though, so that's just enough motivation to work on pages of algebra review :/
