Happy Thanksgiving! Okay,

Chatterbox: Down to Earth

Happy Thanksgiving! Okay,

Happy Thanksgiving! Okay, this thread is where you post the things you're greatful for.

1. My house. Sure, it's not fancy or anything, but as long as there's a roof over my head, how bad can it really be?

2. My family. Hey, you can't pick your relatives, but I think I got lucky. So what if my sister's a jerk sometimes? At least they don't hit me or anything.

3. My pets. I have three cats. Mom's a crazy cat lady- jk

4. Food and drink.  So now that Mom went and broke her ankle, again, my dad doesn't do too great a job grocery shopping, but still, I'm alive and well- that's good, right?

5. My friends. Okay, so they don't call me all the time. Less and less every week. They're still great and they help me out with my problems and support my dreams.

6. My stuff. Hey, its everywhere- have you noticed? I'm pretty lucky to have a laptop and my own room and a trampoline. Who wouldn't be?

Looking it over, I think about all the things in my life that aren't too great. But then I think about people that don't have the cool things I have, and I think, hey- I've got it pretty good, don't I?

This has the potential to turn super cheesy, so I here embark on the quest to come up with unusual things.

1) My mind. God has given me a mind to which learning comes easily and for which writing is natural.

2) This screwdriver sitting in front of me. It is one of the many things scattered around our house and clustered in our shed that bespeaks the handyman talent of my dad. It makes so many things easier - build a fence? rewire a light? totally remodel a kitchen? He can do it. It saves our family a good deal of money, too,

3) The Christmas card sitting in front of me. The only reason I made it is because I made a gift to go with it. I am thankful for the oportunities I have had to learn to use my hands to make beautiful things.

Many other things, too, but those will do for now.
