Our thread for Make a Friend. You seem to be on a lot, can't wait to start talking to you!

I have some questions for you!

1) What characters have you cosplayed as?

2)Would you want to have some of our AEs meet? I think they would get along!

Aaaw. He sounds adorable!!! Do you have any toher pets? I'm currently taking care of a chemeleon.....her name is Camie...very origanal. Anyways. She's a very slow hunter, but we got to watch her hunt a couple crickets. It was very cool.

Also, while writing this, I was looking at Ren fair costume ideas, they all look so cool. Espesically the fawn/satyr one. How would you make those hoofs??? But oh my lordie lord. These costumes are making me want to go soooo baaaaddd. I have two really nice cloaks, and really, really nice dress. So I'm really excited.

No other pets, sadly. Camie sounds interesting; when I was younger I wanted a chameleon!

I've got a lot of other cosplay projects going on right now, so if I went I'd probably just do ears and horns and make some cool staff or prop, and I'd wouldn't do goat legs or hooves. I'd probably just wear a hoodie and sweatpants and boots. Plus, I don't think I'd use the hooves & legs often enough for it to be worth the cost of the fur. I'd definetely wear a cloak, as actually making a cloak is one of my cosplay projects that I'm working on now, but if it isn't finished by then I'll probably use one of the storebought ones from old halloween projects. I might see if I can make something out of leather, although it's pretty difficult to work with. I usually get my leather from thrift shopping and buying leather items and then taking them apart to use, so it would also depend on if I could find enough.

Yeah, I definetely want to go, but I dunno if I'll be able to... I've got a lot of things I'm doing this summer and I'd have to look at my schedule.

I don't think I would want one...but a snake...yes. Or maybe a dog. A big one...or a corgi.

I have been looking at so many ideas for ren fair costumes, the ones I'm contemplating the most is the Ranger, Theif/Assasin, and or a traveling Witch. I want to go as all them...and I can't choose. I'm currently fleshing out each of the designs for the costumes. I'm really liking the Ranger...so cool. My mom has these really nice boots I'm planning on stealing from her...no matter what she says.

Last night I brought up the Ren fair, and my dad was like "Why should we go, do you know where it is?" So I recited all the facts.

Also, what do your AEs look like I wanna draw them.

Snakes are awesome!

Parents don't always understand the need to cosplay. I remember the one time we went to a ren fair my mom called it 'make-beleive for adults,' which is, of course, exactly what it is, but parents don't really get it.

Jam is short, with medium-light brown skin, hazel eyes, and floofy dark brown hair dyed red and purple. Cheese is taller, and white, with long brown hair dyed white. He likes to wear these fingerless black leather glvoes. Friendo is medium height, with pale skin and black hair with a bright pink streak. He's got freckles and green eyes. Skree is tall, with very light brown skin and dark black hair. His hairstyle magically changes daily and he has little control over it, so any hairstyle will work. He usually wears entirely black and he's got a number of ear peircings.

They are.

Exactly, cosplaying lets you be someone else for a day, or for however long your cosplaying for, and people actuly.. treat you like that person...it's so COOL! I love cosplaying.

And I'll get right on these!

Yeah, cosplaying is the best! Some people don't get it, some people think it's weird, some people think it's for little kids, but it's really for everyone who wants to do it. I've found that the people who judge you for doing cosplay or call you 'immature' are often the ones who have the boringest and hardest lives because they're so busy acting like adults. It's good fo you to be a little kid sometimes.

Also, thanks!

Sorry I didn't respond yesterday, I was busy!

When I was cosplaying at the FanEXPO, I had at least five people ask for a picture! And you know what's weird, none of the people that asked for a picture were cosplaying as a character from the same fandom...none. But I did have this cute little girl, dressed as Anya from Spy x Family come up to me and ask for a picture!!! It was adorable!!

I agree, some people think cosplaying is weird. But it just honestly fun. One of thee worst things that has happened to me, was because of who I was cosplaying as.

I was cosplaying as Himiko Toga from MHA, same as my cosplay for the FanEXPO because I have NO MONEY! Anyways, I also cosplayed as her for Halloween....and no one recognized me! Everyone called me Sailor Moon, and highly dislike Sailor Moon. And now! My family calls me that as a joke, I don't like it.

I was thinking of going as Kass from BOTW for the FanEXPO, or Hollow Knight, I would need to make both of those costumes....but that would be expensive. So now I'm hoping to get my family to buy the cosplay for me... hopfully that works...but I have terrible luck....so..prolly not.

I'm currently working on Cheese! I should have that up by thursday!

Btw, what pronouns do you use??

Yee, I love it when people as for pictures!

Hmm, I don't read much anime, but I have heard of Sailor Moon. Himiko Toga is way cooler than Sailor Moon though.

Kass would be a difficult and expensive costume; just from looking at images, for a good costume it would be a lot of work. The mask/head wouldn't be too hard. I've done stuff like it before. What you'd want to do is look up "therizinosaurus jurassic park mask" on Google. You could potentially paint one of those and decorate it with feathers to look like Kass. The rest of it, though, would be pretty hard. Incorporating feathers with a costume is difficult, if you use the type of realistic-looking feathers found in a craft store it would be expensive and hard to make and fragile and impossible to wash. What I'd do is use feathers (you could possibly make cloth feathers using minky and a little stuffing to make it washable) for the little plume on the mask/headpeice, and skip feathers for the rest of it and just use fur instead, because most of the rest of the feathers are so short that they aren't really visible as distinguished feathers. But you'd need to make pretty much a full suit, which would be a lot of work, plus you'd need to make the clothes, although you could potentially find something online that looks similar to Kass's clothing that you could buy. You could also possibly buy a Kass costume, but for a good one it would be pretty expensive. Proper costumes that look good and use fur or feathers could be 800+ dollars and would have to be custom-made by a cosplay-maker.

Hollow Knight would be a lot easier.

I'd make the mask/helmet out of magic model, by making a large ball of newspapers in the size and shape of the helmet. I'd try to get it as smooth and symmetrical as possible. Then I'd mold the magic model around it, in two separate halves that I would then glue together. After it's dry, if the eye-holes don't look the same I'd use an exacto-knife to save them to the same shape. It doesn't matter if a little newspaper gets stuck to the inside of the helmet because it'll be inside. After glueing it together, I'd paint a coat of modge podge onto it (making sure to fill any cracks with the modge podge) and then paint it white. For the eyes, I'd get some fine mesh (you can probably find some at your local craft store(s)) and use a sponge brush to paint some of it black, then glue it in behind the eye holes. For the horns, I'd make them after glueing the helmet together but before modge podgeing and painting it. I'd take some aluminum foil and mold it into the shape of the horns, then cover than in--you guessed it--more magic model. After all that is done I'd use painters tape or masking tape to tape more newspaper into the empty space in the helmet so that it stays in the right position.

Then you'd just have to wear all black clothing and buy a cheap cloak and cut it up into strips. For the sword-nail thing, I'd make a cardboard base shape, and wrap it in duct tape and use sharpie to decorate it, although if you wanted to be really fancy you could coat the cardboard in more magic model and then you could actually carve the designs on it into the magic model, although you might want to score the cardboard first or use glue to help hold the magic model on. I would probably go for just duct tape and sharpie, though, unless you're confidant in your magic modeling skill.

Huh, now I kinda want to make a Hollow Knight costume.

Also, I can't wait to see the drawings!

wow......the way you put making the hollow knight cosplay...makes it sound really easy! I just might try and make that. The FanEXPO is on the 4-6 of August, if I start in July I should have enough time, depending on how many times I go places in that time frame, and how much it costs. I would have to ask my sisteras well. Not because she would help me make it or contribute to any funds....she wants to to a group cosplay with myself and two friends. If I went as Hollow Knight It would only be trio and she's been wanting to cosplay as a group for a long time.

Although, if I got my family to buy a cosplay from Amazon for my birthday, I could make that for halloween.....but there's no October break...hmm. I'll figure it out.

There might be a slight delay with the drawing, but I will get it up!

Hehe, If you went as a group you could all dress up as characters from Hollow Knight. One of you could be Hornet, one of you could be the Knight, and one of you could be one of the other vessels like the Pure Vessel, or sombody could be the Pale King, or something. You could probably make the Knight on a budget of around 30-40 dollars (less if you skipped cutting up a cloak to make the mothwing cloak and just wore a normal black cloak (if you did buy a cheap cloak to cut into tendrils, I'd buy a 'children's' cloak, because something that fell to a child model's feet would fall to about the knees or a little below on a teen, which would be the prefect length for running about at a con. Plus it would be cheaper)) and the Hornet on on a budget of 40-50 (while researching this, I found an item on the Party City website called "adult red cape deluxe" that could, with a little creativity and a sewing machine, could be modified to look a lot like Hornet's cloak).

:D I love talking about cosplay.

That's fine, take your time!

That does sound like a good idea, but neither my sister or friends I would be going with play Hollow Knight. I wouldn't want ot force them, but I htink the group were plannign to go as is pretty cool!

My sisters going as a Ghost that grants wishes, he killed his brother.

I'm goign as a kinda phsyco ghost that was killed by his brother. They're twins and twelve...my sister and I are twins and 12....O0O

One of my friends is going as a thick ankled high school girl who won't listen to reason worth a darn.

The other might be going as a green haired goddess that has to put up my little runt of a character..

(I have run out of stuff to say)

have a good rest of your day! >OvO> <3

Hmm, those all seem like interesting characters.

I have also run out of stuff to say, so here's some questions for you:

What are you favorite books?

Does consuming soup count as eating or drinking or both?

What's the strangest nickname you've ever been given?

(March 31, 2023 - 9:08 am)

I love the MHA series, and Haikyuu, Demon slayer, Komi Can't Communicate, Life Lessons With Urimichii Oniisan, CSM ( I'm not going to say the full name, the admins won't let me), Miss Peregrines, Keeper of the Lost Cities.

I think drinking, but your chewing any other things that are in it, as in: Pasta, meat of any veggies. So I would say both.

My girlfriend gave me the nickname Chibi-chan, even though I'm taller than her.

What are you answers to those questions?

Hmm. For my favorite books, I like pretty much any fantasy books, and it's hard to choose a favorite. Right now I'm reading some of the Rick Riordan presents books along with the first book in a series called the Wingfeather Saga.

I think that consuming soup definetely counts as drinking. I am stubborn about this and will never-ever-ever say otherwise.

I've been called Lizard the Gizzard Wizard before, for reasons unknown.

What do you think of AI art/writing?
