Chatterbox: Down to Earth

Caliper Project.

Caliper Project.

The people from SickKids Hospital came to our school today! They came there to do the Caliper Project, which is when they take our blood, and compare it sick children's blood to know how to help the sick kids. It's really great. All you have to do is fill out a form, then during the event, you get height, weight, and waistline measured. You also get needled. But it only stings a bit. And it's one of those baby needles, so it doesn't hurt that much. But the best part is, you get a teddy bear, a t-shirt, or a storybook and TEN BUCKS! Well, actually, the best part is helping people. Oh, and you don't have to pay to do this.

Fun Facts (sorry 'bout the educational name):

A girl that went to my school last year was helping out, and said that she gave blood ONCE A MONTH! Oh, and the people doing the Caliper Project said that my school was one of the most best-behaved ones. Including high schools.

Don't know when their next event is. But you go to their website to find out. (no exclamation marks, didn't want to sound like a commercial) Can't post the link to it. Not allowed. But you can Google up SickKids webiste, or Caliper Project, or something like that.

Sounds like a great thing to do, but I'd rather stay away from needles/ not that I'm afraid- its just that whenever needles are mentioned in my school everybody freaks out, except for me, who is just a tiny bit nervous.
