Graceling RP!

Graceling RP!

Graceling RP!

I've read Fire and Graceling so far and I'm planning on reading Bitterblue soon. I really love these books so I thought we could make an RP. I think it should take place in the seven kingdoms. You can be a Graceling or a human being if you want. And we can also have Monsters even though they technically live in the Dells. Should Leck still be alive during the RP?

Name: Cayenne

Age: 16

Appearance: Light blond, shoulder-length wavy hair; light skin; one green/brown eye and a gold one; medium height

Other: She's a Graceling with the power to turn invisible.

Please join!

Okay, since I haven't read this yet, I don't know much, so correct me if something is wrong.

Lottie sat huddled at the base of a hollow tree, a light layer of snow covering the forest floor. A small pile of sticks sat in front of her, but she was scared to light it, despite her growing intensive cold. That was her ability, fire. She was a graceling. Finally, the cold got the better of her, and, despite her presentiment, she held her hands out toward the small pile of kindling. She closed her eyes and consontrated. A warm tingly feeling spread from her finger tips, up her arm, covering her whole body, like a fire, burning within. A small ball of fire shot out her hand, igniting the pile of kindling. She was warm and safe, at least for now...

Okay, I hope thats a good beggining! This is cool!

I don't know much about this, but I'll go ahead and give it a shot. Tell me if something doesn't right.

Lottie knelt at the base of a large, hollow tree. It had been her refuge for the past few months.  A light layer of snow covered the forest floor.  She shivered.  She continued staring at a small pile of kindling in front of her.  Despite the intensive cold, she was still hesitant to use it.  She was a graceling.  That was her ability, fire.  Finally, the cold got the better of her.  She held her hands out toward the kindling, closed her eyes, and consontrated.  A warm tingling spread over her body, like a fire burning within. It spread from her finger tips, up her arms, covering her whole body.  Suddenly, her eyes flew open! They glinted like flames, dancing. One violet, the other gold. A small ball of fire burst from her palm, igniting the miniscule amount of kindling. She was safe and warm, at least for now...

I decided to change her eye color. I like it better this way!

Name: Kira, no last name, it was lost years ago.

Age: 14

Appearence: Short blond hair, one eye violet, the other blue. Commonly
wears dark green short sleeve, knee length dress, black leggings,
fighting boots.

Personality: Strong, cold, doesn't open up easily but will protect her friends with her life. Is sarcastic a lot of the time.

Grace: Am I allowed to use fire for my Grace too? If not, than I can move rocks and dirt and such.

I actually have never heard of the series, but it sounds really cool. If I get something wrong, please tell me and guide me.

@ Flaming Girl; No, I don't mind us having the same grace! Heck, we could do something really cool with it! Oh, unless there can't be two gracelings with the same grace. I don't know, I haven't read the book yet. But otherwise, COOL!

Brenning-

I threw up a carrot into the air.  It was spinning like a top.  The knife went back and forth, and a row of perfectly sliced carrot landed on the counter.

"I'm still not sure how you do that," Cayenne said to me.  I looked around and didn't see her.  She slowly appeared, sitting on top of one of the rafters in the kitchen.

"I'm not sure how you do that either, so come down," I told her.

"That's not a good excuse for me exiting the rafter," she retorted.

"Whatever." As soon as Cayenne was down from the rafters, Katsa walked in.  She was Graced with killing.  Randa used her as a puppet, to go to different palaces and kill whomever Randa pleased.

"How's life?" I asked her.  She opened a couple drawers and slammed them shut again.

"Fine.  Where's a knife?" I snorted.

"You ask me that, of all people." I quickly opened a drawer.  The next moment, she was on the floor, and I was holding a knife to her neck.  It was risky, threatening a killer like her, but I couldn't resist.  Besides, knives aren't that much different from killing. "Here's the knife." I let her up off the smooth black and white tiles, and tossed her the knife.  Katsa rolled her eyes and walked out of the door.

"You should really take Randa up on that offer to assist Katsa.  It would be a great honor," Cayenne told me.

"No.  We'd just kill each other.  Besides, she's probably going to take that Lienid on her next mission anyway, so what's the use?"

"You really think his Highness is that good at fighting?" Cayenne asked.

"No.  He's not graced with fighting, I know that for sure," I said.  Cayenne looked at me funny.

"Forget it," I said and turned back to the carrots.

Lilac~

I miss Lienid.  Mother needs me in [insert name of kingdom where the rest of you are], so here I am.  I finger the gold ring at the very top of my ear.  Mother gave it to me as a going-away present.  It was her grandmother's. Most Gracelings here work for the king, but mother's business is well-known by all the kings, so I get a pardon.

I bring my shawl around me.  It gets cold in the alleyways at night.  The best story room is at the end of the longest alley, though, so I must make do. [Can we please include the story rooms?  They're my favorite part of the series!]  When Katsa told me of the story rooms, I knew I must come.  With my Grace and memory, I'm a natural storyteller.  The people there tip well, too.

The doors swing open as I saunter dramatically into the room.  I take my place on the stump in the center that serves as our stage.  "It's the Lienid," the toothless woman at the bar whispers.

Oh yes, it's the Lienid, with a brand new story.

"Once, there was a wise old woman.  She lived in this very kingdom.  Her eyes were fiery red and bright blue.  She was Graced with seeing into the future.  One day, Leck called her to his palace.  He said to her," and here I change my voice into a low, raspy one, "'I wish to know what becomes of me.'"

Chuckles sound throughout the room.  My Leck voice is always a big hit.  The doorman makes a frantic gesture from his post.  I thump down on the stump.  It quickly retracts into the ground.  Frantically, the people around me change the room into a respectable pub.

Then he comes in.  We have to be careful around guards like him.

"What does the woman say in reply?" someone whispers in my ear.

I whirl around.  It's a boy with dark hair ad wonderful green eyes.  A native.

"I'm sorry, but I can't continue," I tell him. "The story'd get me executed for treason without a doubt."

"Can you finish some other day?" he asks, still hopeful.  I nod.  "Alright.  Let me buy you a drink," he adds, pulling out a dazzling smile.

"I have to go.  I sell ribbons for a living and a shipment from my father should be coming in soon."  There is no shipment.  My father died from a knife wound to the gut when I was five.  This is my typical cover story.

"Then at least let me escort you to the docks," he says. "The streets are dangerous at night, girl."

"It's Lilac.  And I do this nightly.  I'll be fine, sir."

"It's Cole."

I turn around and head back for the door.  I don't need to be introducing myself to strangers tonight.  I have things to do.

Of course, he has followed me outside.  Why do I attract oddballs?

"Could you please stop following me?" I ask. This kid is getting obnoxious.

"I'm really concerned for your safety," he says, stepping forward.  In the streetlamp, I can see one of his eyes is hazel.  There's a lump the exact shape and size of a dagger in his pocket.

"Graced with combat?  Freelance assassin?"  I guess. This happens way too often.

He nods, a sinister smile erupting. "Figaro sent me."

My mother made has asked me to tail him.  He's on the run from the Lienid king.  She wants me to get information on his life here before she sends in a 'strong'un' to get him.  That's what she calls the muscles of her spy agency.

Gingersnaps. I didn't think he knew I was there.  The assassins normally aren't sent until after they've been locked up.

"In that case, you should know I have the capability to escape," I sneer.

"I know that now. Normally people don't figure me out. Not even the experienced ones."

"Then don't put your knife in your pocket. I keep mine in my sleeves," I say, pulling them out. I run back to the pub.

"A man tried to attack me!" I scream to the whole room. The guard jumps up. Sometimes they're a drag, but the best way to stop an attack is to draw attention.  "I told him to stop following me and he pulled out a knife," I say through crocodile tears.

He runs out.  Of course, Cole's left.

I only pull this card with the most dangerous ones. Normally I just trick 'em, but there was something about him that told me he wouldn't fall for it.

I smile.  I hope I see him tomorrow.

Sorry, but, I'm a little lost again. Who, or what is Liened? And Randa? (looking very sheepish). Also, can Elizabeth, can you kinda point me in the right direction as to where or what Lottie should do? Thanks!

Lienid is one of three things: A kingdom (noun)

A person who lives in said kingdom (noun)

Description of person who lives in said kingdom (adj.)

Randa is the King of the Middluns.  I'm assuming we're in the Middluns, because Katsa has made an appearance.  My post was in Randa's court.

Cayenne-

I leave my things buried in some hay in a stable, which connects to the inn. Then I sneak up behind Brenning who is still cutting carrots with a knife that has a blade as long as my hand.

"Boo!" I whisper in her ear. She doesn't jump. She's too used to my sneak attacks. Instead she turns around and points her knife at my chest. (Which she technically shouldn't see because I'm invisible.)

"If you don't become visible right now, Cayenne, I will ram this knife into your heart." She growls.

"Ah, come on. I was just having a little fun." I say after I'm visible again. "You really don't have any humor."

Brenning turns back to her carrots, flipping her short hair angrily. I saunter to one of the wooden kitchen counters and sit down on it. Scratches cover the surface, which feels rough under my soft palm.

"You need to get out of here, Brenning." I raise my eyes to look at her. She stops chopping and sets her knife down very slowly.

"And where should I go?" She's staring at me now, her red eye dancing with anger, her green one melencholy. "What would I do?"

I shrug. "I'm going to kill King Murgon."

Brenning's eyes widen. "By yourself? What are you going to do? Walk in and cut his throat open. That would only make matters worse. You know that."

"You'd come with me."

"And what help would I be? My gift is cutting vegetables, remember? Should I slice up Murgon?"

I laugh. "Actually-"

"Cayenne, life isn't fun and games. You have to understand that you can't just go to Murgon City and kill the king. You have to plan."

"You're always planning. And where has that gotten you?"

Brenning ignores my question. "Why do you need to kill Murgon?"

"He killed my mother. And he's done other horrible things, too, like..."

"I'll come with you."

@BlondeHeroinesRule- Sorry, if you got confused. I was thinking that Brenning and Cayenne could meet your character on their mission...

"Ladies, you will never believe what just happened on my way to you," I said, wheezing it out at the end since I was out of breath.

"You're late," Brenning says disapprovingly.

"Well, if you'd let me get to the story, I could explain why," I say in a caricature of her voice.  She frowns.  I do this way too often, and she hates it.

I hear a giggle from the corner.  It must have been Cayenne, but invisible.  She thinks my Grace is funny.

I make my voice dignified, like I would expect a stuffy, pompous old man to sound.  "I was on my way out of the story room to see you and report on what you wanted me to find out, but then this boy named Cole started flirting with me.  And I was getting very fed up with him.  Yet, he kept following me.  Then, I walked out into the dim light in the street, figured out he was a Graceling, and he told me he was an assassin sent after me!  I kind of hope I see him again.  It's not every day I don't sense an assassin: he must have been good."

"You're going crazy, Lilac!" Cayenne's voice sounds from her corner, "He wants to kill you!"

"Yes, but didn't you hear the whole story?" I ask.

"Anyway, what do you have to report?" Brenning asks.

"Oh, the man went deaf after the war.  He's not the one you're looking for."

"In that case, we have to get going."

"What, no cake and tea like normal?"

"We have... some important business to take care of," the finally visible Cayenne tells me.

Then the door flies open and who should enter but Cole...

@ Elizabeth: Yeah! I would love it if Brenna and Cayenne would find Lottie (it would give me more direction as to what to do with her).  Do you want me to leave Lottie in the woods, or have her go somewhere else to find her (I know, I'm not doing a very good job at role play, but, if you'll be patient with me, I'm sure I'll get the hang of it! :-) So, awaiting your orders! Hehe! Thanks!

Cappie says tpkf. It's scoffing at me. I WILL GET THE HANG OF THIS, CAPPIE!!!!!!
