Graceling RP!

Chatterbox: Inkwell

Graceling RP!

Graceling RP!

I've read Fire and Graceling so far and I'm planning on reading Bitterblue soon. I really love these books so I thought we could make an RP. I think it should take place in the seven kingdoms. You can be a Graceling or a human being if you want. And we can also have Monsters even though they technically live in the Dells. Should Leck still be alive during the RP?

Name: Cayenne

Age: 16

Appearance: Light blond, shoulder-length wavy hair; light skin; one green/brown eye and a gold one; medium height

Other: She's a Graceling with the power to turn invisible.

Please join!

@BlondeHeroinesRule- It's your choice. Either you can meet Brenning and Cayenne on their way or we can find you in the woods or you could appear in the inn... Anything goes. :-) At the moment we're in the Middluns (somewhere in the North, I think) and we're going to try to go to Murgon City in Sunder. (You can look at the map to find these places.) :D

Okay! Thanks! I think I'll just go ahead and let Lottie meet you at the inn.

Lottie stumbled along, faint from lack of food. She looked around. She hadn't the least idea where she was. The woods just kept stretching on for as far as she could see. Snow fell heavily.  She continued running. She ran through a near frozen creek, under a fallen log, and continued. She looked behind her to see if she was still being pursued.  Suddenly she fell, several feet. She raised herself and looked back. The ground sloped on either side of a hanging, maybe 8, 9 feet. She tasted blood.  She'd bitten clean through her lip. More footsteps somewhere behind her.  She looked for a place to hide. She shoved herself into the overhanging where long old tree roots concealed her well enough. She waited with bated breath. Suddenly large, black boots appeared eye level where she lay, just  three feet away. She held her breath and waited. They slowly turned on the spot, then stopped suddenly, facing her. Slowly, somebody knelt down toward her.  There was a small clearing of roots at Lottie's feet, just big enough for her to scoot through. She knew this was her only chance. She waited... Just as somebody looked in, she burst through the roots, running, running, as fast as she could! Footsteps pounded behind her, but she didn't stop. She could see a faint flicker of light ahead, maybe a town.  A hand brushed her hair by her ear, nearly grabbing her. She put on an extra burst of speed, the last strength she had in her, and burst through a door, the sign hanging above it said Inn. She starred at the shocked faces looking at her, then all went black...

I know this is a rather dramatic entrance, but I really don't know how to do introductions, so I hope this is okay. It's my way of Lottie meeting the other characters.

"Cayenne.  You, Brenning and Lilac are going with Katsa.  She needs more than killing this time." Randa says.  He gave me a pointed look that said 'and you're just tagging along'.  Randa had called us into his throne room, to tell us to go with Katsa.  He had always hated me, because he already had a killer with a wider range of technique, and he couldn't just turn away a useful Grace like mine without causing suspicion.  Katsa is with us too, standing far away from our little cluster, sneaking glances of distain at us.  "Katsa," Randa turns to her, "You'll find directions with the stable boy at the Gibbous Inn.  He'll know who you are.  Go.  And don't come back without an answer."  Randa points us towards the door.  Lilac, Cayenne and I hustle towards it.  Katsa stays behind, looking angry.

-

We're in the stable, getting our horses ready for the long journey when Katsa comes storming in.

"You've ruined everything!" She yells, and goes to her horse.

"Sorry for interfering with you romance, Katsa." I say snarkily.  The Lienid prince Po and I kind of got off on the wrong foot after I found his boots lying around and used them as a dartboard.  With lances.  Pun intended.

"We're not in love, Brenning.  He's just the only person I've met who's brave enough to actually fight me." Katsa was always rubbing in the fact that Randa forbid us fighting. "Cooks don't understand, being deprived of using their true skills." she said, and started busily filling a sack with horse feed.

At that moment, the Lienid Prince swaggered in.  "Randa wants me to come with you." He said proudly.

"How lovely." Katsa says, and starts batting her lashes like some sort of idiot. "We were just talking about you."

"Infavorably." I mutter.

"So." Cayenne says.

"About that mission Randa sent us on." Lilac finishes.

"I'm ready." I say, and sit on my horse for extra emphasis, "I'm just waiting for the lovebirds to get their act together."

"Why don't you three go on ahead, get the map from the Stable and get rooms.  It's so late we'll probably be staying the night." Po says matter of factly. "Katsa and I got on a bit of a late start."

"Good." I promptly guide my horse out of the stable and start on the road toward Sunder.  A few minutes later, Lilac and Cayenne catch up with me.

"Well that was rude." Lilac says.

"Of which party?" I ask.

"Both of you!" Cayenne interjects, "You were flying at eachother like Katsa and dogs!"

"I don't approve of romantic delays." I explain. "If they want to start kissing whenever we're not maiming anyone, they can go do their own thing.  Randa wants something done, not a wedding to plan."  We left it at that.

-

The crowd huddles around the fallen girl, whispering.

"Knife wound," one says, "Definetly." their friend agrees.

I push my way to the front of the crowd, and the rooms hushes, as they take in my Graceling eyes and long belt of knives.  I take one look at the cut up lip of the girls, and immediately know it's most certainly not a knife wound.  Those idiots that pretend to be doctors these days, seriously.  I address the crowd,

"Is anyone Graced with healing?"

"Me." Katsa and Po walk in the door.  Po rushes over to the fallen girl.

"As long as this girl didn't take the same path as my boots," Po stops and glares at me, "I can do this."

"Well then I'll leave you Grace to be the local witch doctor." I say.  Pun intended.

***

Yes, I said Po is Graced with healing, but we can make it that he lied.

Or something.

@Gollum

I think that it's ok if he lies, since he normally does in the books.

Um, I'm gonna let ya'll do the next part with Lottie because, again, I'm REALLY not good with that sort of thing and introductions. Is that all right?

Sure.  You should really read the books.  Because Katsa and Po are the main characters of the actual book.  And I'm assuming we're going to eventually have some interaction with Bitterblue and/or Leck.  To commence with "that sort of thing and introductions":

***

Things pretty much went smoothly after the initial blood problem.  The girl (whose name turned out to be Lottie Pickner) had apparently bitten a hole through her lip, which before I had thought impossible.  I was also highly doubting the Lienid's healing Grace, after he insisted that it was a knife wound after a) Lottie said she bit through her lip and b) I told him repeatedly that if it was a knife wound I would swallow my saber (which he said I did anyway).

"This is Po, I'm Katsa, and those are Cayenne, Lilac and Brenning." Katsa had taken to calling Lilac, Cayenne and me 'those', which bugged me.  But then I started calling her it, so all was good.

***

I'm going to let someone ELSE post the rest.

Wait. I thought his name was Bo... Oh, I just looked it up on Wiki. I guess they changed his name in the German books. Because Po means Butt in German.

Cayenne-

Brenning glares at Katsa as she introduces us. Personally, I really don't like Randa's personal contract killer. She seems arrogant and she's always bossing us around. We stare at Lottie, who's clothes are dirty and shredded as if she's been traveling for days. She seems so young. her face is pale and contorted with pain.

"I think, we should take her into one of the Inn's rooms." I say. Po, the Lienid prince, picks her up in his strong tan arms. He looks so good...

Po smiles as if he's read my thoughts. His gold and silver eyes sneak a look at me and then turn back to Lettie. Maybe Brenning is right about his Grace. I'm also starting to think that he's not a healer.

We parade up the stairs and into the first free room. The room we're in is small with a tiny window, which doesn't let in much light. Po places Lettie gently on the white sheets and bends over her face.

"Katsa, go get me some brandy from the kitchen. Does one of you have a needle and thread?"

"Do we look like maids who sit around sewing all the time?" Brenning snaps.

"Well, then go get some."

Brenning stomps out of the room.

"Why do you need a needle and thread?" Lilac asks hesitantly.

"To sew up her lip. That's the only thing we can do."

I feel my stomach turn and swallow the bad taste in my throat. Legentlyttie whimpers and grabs Po's arm. "Don't do it." She whispers. "It'll hurt."

"Sh. Everything will be fine."

*

Half an hour later Lottie is lying fast asleep on the bed, the empty brandy bottle next to her and her lip sewed up with black thread, which makes it seem as if she has black hair growing there.

"We'll guard her tonight." Katsa smirks slightly.

"I doubt that either of you will be guarding her tonight. I think it most likely that you'll be kissing-"

"Why don't you and Cayenne watch her then, if you're so keen on doing it." Po interrupts her, then pulls Katsa out of the room.

Yes, I really should read the books, but I'm in the middle of like 3 books, but I'll try to find them. Also, (I know I sound pathetic, please forgive me) I really love where Lottie has gone! Can't write more right now.

@BlondeHeroinesRule- I just wanted to apologize about spelling Lottie wrong. I just noticed that I wrote Lettie instead of Lottie.

@ Elizabeth: Oh, don't worry about that!  I often fear I misspell other character names too. So, if you'll forgive me if I ever misspell, then it's absolutely fine! Also, I FINALLY got Graceling, and am currently reading it! I finally know who Katsa is! Though, I haven' gotten very far. Will continue reading!

@ Elizabeth:

In the English books, his name is Po.  It makes sense why they would change it in German...

"So while they're 'guarding' this Lottie girl, we get to decifer an indeciferable map!  Oh joy." I say sarcastically as Lilac, Cayenne and I congregate around a table to figure out what our plan is for the rest of the journey.

"It's actually more of a riddle..." Cayenne says from some unknown corner.

"I second to the motion to rename this quote 'indeciferable map' the indeciferable riddle of doom." Lilac says, raising her hand as if we're in a council meeting.

"Motion carried." I mutter, leaning my head on my hand.  "So," I say, "who's Graced with riddle unsolving and all that good stuff?"

A boy walks past our door, then looks back in our room.

"I am."

"I was talking to the people at hand." I snap.  Cayenne appears, sitting on top of a dresser.

"Cole!" Lilac gasps.  The boy (whose name is apparently Ember) walks in, still uninvited as far as official people are concerned.

"Oh joy." I say, picking at the decrepit wood in the table, "A regular congregation."

"At Katsa and Po's wedding." Cayenne says.  I smirk.  Speaking of the devil, Po walks by.

"What was that?" he asks, poking his head in (a lot of people are doing that these days, aren't they?)

"We were just talking about-" Lilac begins.

"Apes." I cut in. "Two apes, madly in love with eachother."
