Graceling RP!

Graceling RP!

Graceling RP!

I've read Fire and Graceling so far and I'm planning on reading Bitterblue soon. I really love these books so I thought we could make an RP. I think it should take place in the seven kingdoms. You can be a Graceling or a human being if you want. And we can also have Monsters even though they technically live in the Dells. Should Leck still be alive during the RP?

Name: Cayenne

Age: 16

Appearance: Light blond, shoulder-length wavy hair; light skin; one green/brown eye and a gold one; medium height

Other: She's a Graceling with the power to turn invisible.

Please join!

I walk into the room and head straight for Lottie.

"Sorry to break up the party," I say, "but both Lottie and Lilac need to be taken care of before any questions are asked."

"How did you know we were going to ask?" Po questioned suspiciously.

"I was headed here and overheard. Is that a crime?" I ask. Lottie starts moaning, so I check on her first. As I start changing her bedsheet bandages, she squints at me. I can only imagine that everything is blurry. Lilac is awake by now and is peering at me with the same expression.

"Kira?" Lottie mumbles as if she doesn't believe what she's seeing.

"Don't worry, I'm right here," I respond soothingly. I ignore the evil death glares coming from Cayanne and Po. I let Lottie's leg soak in a bucket of water to get the dried blood off and go over to Lilac. She glares at me the best she can and tries to sit up but falls back down.

"I don't need you to help me," she says coldly.

"Yes you do," I respond. "I know more about doctoring people than anyone here, including princey boy." Po glares at me. Ignoring him, I do a scan over Lilac. The wounds are short but deep. I get a glass of water and put ground up marigold seeds, a natural painkiller, in the water. I come back to Lilacs bedside and hand her the cup.

"Drink," I say.

"You can't make me," she growls at me.

"Drink," I order her again, this time sounding menacing. She drains the glass fearfully. After a bit, the marigold kicks in and she looks slightly relieved. I take out a vile that i got from a healer and drip some of the contents into her still oozing sword wound. As I'm sewing it closed, I toss a pill to Cayanne.

"Swallow it," I order her. She looks suspicious. I wash my hands and go over to Lottie again. As I'm dripping the healing mixture on to her leg, I see Cayanne about to drop the pill in the waste basket.

"Don't even think about it," I say strictly.

After everything is taken care of, I help prop up Lottie's and Lilac's legs on extra cushions. I get Cayanne a glass of water and pretty much ignore Po. He seems pretty unused to being ignored. As I sit down next to Lottie, he starts to ask questions, starting with the worst question anyone could ask me.

"What is your Grace?"

I freeze. I don't let my nerves show, but I'm a bit less than calm and collected on the inside.

"Unfortunately for you, I won't tell."

He Keeps firing the questions.

"How old are you?"

"That's classified."

"Where do you come from?"

"That's classified."

"Why are you so close to Lottie?"

"We're stepsisters." I can answer that.

"You are so guarded," he says. "It's suspicious."

"I like to keep to myself as much as possible," I say coolly. This guy asks to many questions.

Lilac~

When I wake up, Cayanne and Po are standing across the room, staring at me.  "What?" I ask.

"You... You... And Leck!" Cayanne stammers, "How?"

I try to remember what happened.  Oh, yes, that.  "I was under his spell for quite a while," I told them, "but I think it was because of something my mom gave me."  I quickly took the bracelet off my wrist.

"It's the only one in existence.  It repels Graces directed toward me.  She gave it to me to keep me safe."  Katsa walked in and snatched it from me.  "Have it.  I don't want it," I told her. "I'm done with being a spy and going on adventures.  Not after this injury.  I'm lucky if I ever walk again."

Lottie ~

I wasn't sure what was going on around me. Everything went in and out of a haze. One minute I was out, the next I vaguely saw shapes, voices. I was pretty sure I heard Kira, which wouldn't surprise me. My leg throbbed until I drank something mildly sweet, and the pain started to die. Finally, I woke up for good, and though things were a little fuzzy, I could make it out pretty well. Kira sat beside me, my leg was bandaged with clean strips. I look over and see Lilac and Cayenne, both awake. "What happened?" I demand trying to sit up, only to have Kira push me back.  Kira glances over at Lilac. "Lilac saved us," she said. She told me about a bracelet that Lilac had worn, that repelled graces. I looked over at her, not sure what to think. Po came in at that moment, before I could say anything. He gives Kira a cold look, instantly putting me on the defensive. Then his expression softens, as if he knew I was becoming guarded. "I see you're awake," was all he said though. "So your sisters?" he asks me, looking between Kira and I. "Yes," I say, figuring Kira had told him. She was glaring at him, in a stop-talking-now-or-else way. I wondered what had happened when I was out. "You're guarded like your sister," he says, still looking at me intently. "So?" I ask, wondering why he was saying this. "How old are you?" he asks. The question took me by surprise. "Never mind," I reply. "What's your grace?" he asks. Okay, this guy was seriously getting on my nerves. "You don't need to know. I'll tell you mine the day you tell me yours." It was probably a brash thing to say, but I wanted him to know I wasn't kidding around. He looked at me for a moment, then left the room. "We'll leave as soon as you all are ready to travel," he said as he walked out. Great. Well, I was ready. After this, I wanted to make sure Bitterblue was okay. Kira and I looked at each other. Her words echoed again in my mind. Have to kill some of them off. Brenning wasn't the only one I'd watch out for.

Brenning-

In the meantime, while Katsa's group is attending to their wounds, I rush up the stairs.  I burst in on the room where Leck and his officers are, about to tell him that the opposition is at a disadvantage, when the last thing I hear is,

"We have to dispose of her-" Leck says to one of his officers.  My entrance stops him from finishing his sentence.  Leck grins at me like a snake and says, his voice slithering like syrup, "Don't you have something else to do?"  My brain clouds over and I start to think, Yes, Brenning, of course, you have to feed the chickens.  I shake my head.  Leck and his cohort has gone back to talking.

"No." I say.

"Are you sure?" Leck says again, his voice trying as hard as it can to be as slitheringly sweet and syrupy as possible.

"Yes," I tell him.

"You are a fool. Now get out."

Just a question, are Leck and Katsa's group in the same place? Or did we escape?

I was wondering the same thing. I'm assuming we escaped, correct me if I'm wrong.

Okay, if they didn't escape just ignore this post.

Cayenne-

Po is impatient and worried. He thinks we don’t have enough time and he feels Leck’s presence. At least, that’s what I overheard him telling Katsa. My headache has subsided and I am almost back to normal, although I still feel dizzy at times. Lilac and I have started to sit in front of the fire for hours on end. I can tell that she would prefer not to come near Po or Katsa because every time she enters the room they cast suspicious glances at her.

Lottie is still in bed with Kira never leaving her side.

*

“Gather your things. We’re leaving.” Katsa announces two days later. Kira glares at her as she turns and leaves the room. She slams the door shut behind her. I hear muffled shouting and catch bits like, “You’re such an idiot. You know Lottie can’t move.” Katsa doesn’t reply.

I dress in brown pants and an identically colored coat. Kira returns, red-faced and fuming. She mutters a curse under her breath.

“Come on, Lottie. We have to leave.” She rolls her eyes and kneels down to help her. Lottie is still half-asleep, yet Kira manages to get her to her feet even though Lottie’s knees buckle.

“Lilac, Cayenne! I need your help carrying her out.” Kira is holding Lottie’s head. I take one of her feet, Lilac the other. As soon as we begin moving, Lottie’s eyes fly open.

“What the…?” She stares at us, a mixture of confusion and pain on her face.

Kira drops her in surprise.

“Ouch. What was that for?” Lottie stands up and limps to Kira. She’s wide awake. “Why were you carrying me?”

“You wouldn’t get up and you need your strength for the ride.” Kira explains patiently.

“The ride?”

“Katsa won’t wait any longer.” I say.

Lottie nods as if she finally understands. “Well then, let’s go.”

Lilac~

"Goodbye, everybody!" I called from the relative safety of the hotel porch. "Please stay safe!"

Katsa looks at me.  "You're serious?!"  I nod.  She seems shocked.  "What will your mother say?" she asks.

"I don't care," I reply, crossing my arms.  She looks at me like I'm crazy again, then tells the group to leave.  However much Katsa thinks I'm crazy, I think she understands.  It can get dangerous out here.  I've heard Po talk her out of quitting more than once.

Suddenly, Cole comes rushing out through the hotel door, stopping to catch his breath.  "Cole, what are you doing here?"  I ask. "Aren't you with Leck?"  I thought the hotel was safe.  Slowly, I begin to back away.

"It's Leck.  I think he's going after Brenning," he said. "I barely know her, but I thought you would want to know.  I heard him say they're going  to arrest her at dawn.  You can  stop them, you have immunity and a whole group of Gracelings on your side."

"Buttons," I curse, "they just left with my immunity.  Brenning's a traitor, but I don't think they'd want her to die.  Go run and bring them back!  We have no time to lose."

I'm sorry, that's horrible, but I'm not in a writing frame of mind.

Okay, so I shall go next...

Lottie ~

We hadn't been riding long. Only about half and hour, when I heard the loud pounding of hooves behind us. I swiveled around in my saddle, to see another rider rapidly approaching.

"It's Cole!" I shouted to the others. He quickly caught up, his horse panting and foaming. Each of us had our weapons at the ready.

"Leck is going to kill Brenning," he said, before any of us to say a word. A quiet chill decended upon us. "How do we know we can believe him?" Kira demanded. "We already know he works for Leck. How can we believe him? He's probably playing us right into Leck's hands." I nodded in agreement with Kira.

I looked at Katsa, waiting to hear what she would say.

Short, but I have to go!

Brenning-

"Kill............brngknigaslkfj......." Leck whispers to one of the bowsmen.  I run down the stairs, and rush as fast as I can to the stables.  If I can somehow make amends with Katsa's troupe (well, I don't think THAT'S going to happen), then I might be safe.  I get on my horse, not bothering with the saddle.  I race out of the courtyard of the inn, and head towards the woods.   There's a trail of kicked up leaves.  I stop when I see a C carved at the roots of a tree.  Cole has been here.
