Chatterbox: Inkwell

Okay, I know there's already a bunch in Inkwell right now, but I needed something new. The other ones are not moving or are too developed for me.

Here's my character: Nathaniel

Age: 13

Appearance: Normal looking by regualr standards, with plain brown hair and a gaunt look on his face.

Nathaniel was filled with a fiery rage. Why was it always HIM they decided was nothing special? He would show them! Nathaniel walked away from the building, not believing he had been rejected. It's not like EVERYONE can turn invisible! He filled out about fifteen applications, did one thousand pushups for them, and turn invisble. He couldn't believe they wouldn't let him into superhero school. Just because he couldn't fly.

Nathaniel didn't want to feel the rejection. He was not normal. He did not fit in with normal people. The truth that the people at Shane's Academy, also known as Superpoweed School, were telling him was that he didn't fit in with them either. He didn't fit in anywhere. He felt himslef unwittingly turn invisible and stalk down the road.

Don't feel afraid to use someone else's character or add something that doesn't really have anything to do with the plot!

Plot. Oh, this is what I'm worst at. Unless it's a hero's journey (Thanks, school).

Um. Hmm. Let's start with clog:

Character(s): Basically every single character on this thread. Nathaniel, Brooke, Storm, Catherine, Amber, Leo, Elexihiaa

Locations(s): Shane's Academy. Whatever city they're in. Right now, where ever the spaceship thing we might need to take out landed. Higher worlds

Obstacles(s): HUNT, John, mainly HUNT

Goal(s): To defeat HUNT...? Each of the characters has their own sub-goal, but that would be the main goal, wouldn't it? (I'm no good at goals.)

So there's the CLOG. This gives us a little idea of what should happen. So we defeat HUNT. We did that, sort of, but then we kept writing, which led us to here. Hmm. We're all sort of trying to make a better world, right? We have to struggle to get there, but somehow we have to get there.

This really gets us know where, but I'm also stuck to what should happen next. Maybe this will spark some ideas.

Hmm, okay, correct me if I'm wrong on any of this.

So, Nathaniel and Brooke are still without powers (I think they're the only ones, again, correct me if mistaken.) HUNT has been working on a project to capture/kill kids like us. Plus, there are other super hero schools. So perhaps we can bring these together? I'm thinkin' maybe we remake Shane's our central base? Get the other schools involved? Fight HUNT? I dunno, whatever. Ya'll are perfectly allowed to rant and rave at me if this is a terrible idea. Somewhere in my mind, I'm already doing so.

Name: Dahlia Esther Norfleet

Age: 27

Superpower: Invisibility

Occupation: Teaches Advanced History of Superheroes at the Superhero Academy (plus training young superheroes, like most other teachers)

Appearance: Dahlia is a petite brunette with a pixie-cut.  She usually dresses herself in expensive dark-colored draped clothing - her wardrobe is very different from most other people she knows because of the limited availability in clothing with invisible capability.

Backround: Has lived at the Academy since she was a child and her parents began working there. (Both of her parents (with the superpowers of flying and spider-hands) retired to Florida after many years in the people/city-saving business and then as acclaimed teachers and trainers at the Academy.) Dahlia loves cats and French Electronic Gypsy Jazz music. She is usually soft-tempered and kind but when she sees injustice her rage can override her good nature. (Unfortunately for Dahlia, this is a superhero stereotype and she was the often laughed at as an adolescent at the Academy.)  Dahlia prefers to associate with some of her more relatable students at the academy rather than the high-and-mighty staff and administration.  On her free time, Dahlia attempts to creat a larger range of clothing and fabrics with invisible capability, or expands her knowledge of Pixie life.  (She is fluent in Pïxing (language of the Pixies) and often visits the colony near the millstream, which is an hour's walk from the Superhero Academy dorms.)

After a quick shower, Dahlia dressed herself and walked across the lawns to the teacher's meeting in the career counseling wing of the main building on campus.  Teachers filed slowly in before the wooden door closed and everyone took a seat at the large oval table in the center of the room.  Lists of recent applicants to the Academy were passed around.  One boy's name caught her eye - his power was invisibility too, but a stamp next to his name told her that he had already been turned down.  Dahlia interrupted the head of school.

"Excuse me, Ms. Lupercio, but why was Nathaniel Kligler rejected?  His scores look close to perfect, and I know better than anyone of the lack of kids with invisibility powers," she blurted out.

Luna Lerercio sighed.  "Dahlia, there has been an extreme decrease in students with flying powers and that is what we are focusing on.  Did we not just review this?"

"Besides, each of my trainees have left within the past few months, and not to be pushy, but I could teach him- "

"-You have been great at teaching blending powers.  Besides, the principles are similar to invisibility."

"Thank you Ms. Lupercio.  Do you mind if I inquire when Nathaniel was interviewed?"

"Just yesterday, actually."  Luna Lupercio paused.  "Would you be willing to train him privately?  We have no generic classes regarding his power that he could take."

"I would love to!  Are you revoking our refusal?"

"I think I am," Luna Lupercio admitted sourly.  She turned to a small curly-haired and very muscley man with green-tinged skin behind her.  "Moonves, please make a note that I need to inform his parent or gaurdian of the news before noon tomorrow.  Please move that to the top of the list."  With a curt nod, Moonves rearranged an array of colorful sticky notes on the black and white checkered spiral notebook with the Academy's logo embossed on the cover that he was holding.

I am SO confused! Sorry, but could someone explain this? I MIGHT write

Oh goodness, yes, it did get quite confusing. Okay, well, let's see if I can explain this...

Basically, currently, I think Leo, Storm, and Catherine are gone (refer to Ruby's earlier posts because that part I can't really explain), and Leo is... where is Leo? *scrolls pages* Ah, Leo is across the country. So that's where they are.

The rest of us are still in my shack, which started to glow, then was flying. John appeared, and told us it was an interdimensional ship. Brooke became livid, and would have likely murdered John if Nathaniel hadn't held her back, quite literally. Well, now the "ship" has crashed, and we're trying to debate where we are.

Maybe you should read the last two posts of Theo's and mine, to get an idea of what it's like and all.

(Theo, Ruby, Red, please fill in whatever I know I've forgotten).

But great to have you back Legion I!!!

So how do we fight hunt? So if you guys have read the book about Piper Mcloud (I'm not good with book titles), maybe we could have them fight them and create a safe haven.

-we could have them travel around and unite the other superkids

-Have you read Powerless? They just had a big fight at the end. But . . . are we trying to get rid of everyone Hunt related?

-I think we overwrote it

Wait... before I can think or anything....

Okay. And I also really liked THE GIRL WHO COULD FLY.

I don't think this can be like a POWERLESS battle scene. It was pretty much Daniel and our villian talking it over. Something more like SUPER. Maybe. Arrgh, I don't know.

I do think we overwrote it, but that's okay because... because....

The Girl Who Could Fly! Yes, that's one of my favorite books! The ending was fantastic! THOUGH I SWEAR I KEEP TRYING TO FIND POWERLESS! Actually, I found it, I just haven't gotten a chance to get it. I REALLY WANT TO READ IT THOUGH.

A TGWCF ending might be interesting. Perhaps John could be like Conrad? I dunno. I leave the decision to Theo, since this is his/her RP.

What is a TGWCF ending? And what do you mean Super? And Powerless WAS good

Uuuh I can't remember the exact details but it was something like *spoiler alert!* they drove the teachers out of the faculty and then Piper moved back home with that one guy whose name starts with a "c." The end.

*End spolier*

Powerless was good! It's one of my two favorite books ever! Super, if you didn't know, is the sequel to Powerless, and Villianous is the final book that comes out some time this year (probably in the fall, knowing Matthew Cody and all).
