Fairytale RP!

Fairytale RP!

Fairytale RP!

So Tovah had once made something like this, and I miss it, so I'm going to recreate it. I was thinking that you could either do a twist on a classic fairytale hero or heroine, or make your own. They go to a private high school to learn to fight aliens.

I'm going to go with the same character I had before.

Name: Gretel Rose

Appearence; Chin-length golden hair that curves in on one side and
curves out on the other. Dark, sapphire-blue eyes, slightly pink cheeks,
pale, small, at 5 ft. Commonly wears long sleeve camo shirt with denim
capris and lace up hunting boots. Or jeans, black t-shirt with Slay Your Own Dragons and a sword
on fire, black hunting boots. Oftenwears a cap. Whether navy blue or
camo.

Personality; Strong, quiet, observant, hard core, ready to fight. Loyal, open, and cheerful around her friends.

Story; So, this is a Hansel and Gretel in the modern world. Southern
girl! Her parents ditched her in the backwoods of Tennessee, in the
Great Smokey Mountains. A hunter thought she and her brother game and
accidentally shot him. (Explains what happens to Hansel.)

Power; She has a strong sense of direction, can see in the dark. Also can channel people's feelings well. Knows what they're feeling.

Weapon: Anything she can throw or shoot, except long spears. She can
throw knives, shoot a gun or bow. Whatever she can get her hands on.

So what do ya'll think? Good or bad idea?

"Now, what exactly happened on your challenge?" Principal Edith asked, eyeing each person throught her thick glasses. I licked my lips and glanced at the others, hoping someone else would explain. Elle and Jasmine were looking at the floor, while Ash seemed to be doing the same thing I was: looking for someone else to explain. I looked at Gretel, who seemed to be our natural leader, hoping that she would tell Principal Edith.

Principal Edith began to get impatient; I could tell by the tapping of her foot under her mahogany desk. "So, will someone please answer," she said zoning in on Gretel. "Gretel, you seem to be the leader, what happened on your mission?"

Gretel bit her lip. "Well..." she started.

Yay! Someone wrote in!

Gretel ~

"Gretel, you seem to be the leader, what happened on your mission?" Principal Edith demanded. I bit my lip, debating whether to go with the fantastical truth, or a realistic variation.

"Well..." My voice came out with a southern accent which showed itself most when I was nervous. Finally I spilled out the whole story of the previous hour's events.

"I see," Principal Edith said, staring at me.

"It's the TRUTH!" I cried out in absolute exasperation.

"It is," put in Rose Red hesitantly. The others echoed confirmation.

I looked at her hesitantly, trying to look as innocent as possible. Now it was Principal Edith's turn to sigh in exasperation.

"Gretel, quite trying to look innocent, it doesn't suit you. This is a very serious matter you've  presented."

We held our breaths.

"All right. I'll have to think on this. You are free of judgment or punishment until further notice."

We all breathed a collected sigh of relief, and hurried out the door.

"I wonder why it's such a serious matter," Snow thought aloud. "I mean, I know she acted like she didn't believe us, but something was bothering her and Mrs. Lanie."

The others murmered in agreement.

"Though Principal Edith was right about one thing," Jasmine said teasingly. "Innocence doesn't suit you."

I broke into a very wide grin, and swept an exaggerated bow.

"And with that," I said rising from my bow, "I will see you at dinner!" I trotted off toward my room, slowing to think about the day's events. Suddenly a giggle floated down the hall. One I knew all too well.

"Oh, Gretel," Miranda said in a mock sympathetic tone. "I'm sure today wasn't too embarrassing."

I clenched my hands into fists and gritted my teeth.

"No! As a matter of fact, it was quite exciting," I spat, whirling around

Miranda snorted. "Hmm, I'm sure it was. I'm sure the trip to the Principal's office was too. About as exciting as your and Hansel's "adventures"."

And with that, I snapped. I tackled Miranda, sending both of us toppling to floor. We rolled over one another, kicking, clawing, and throwing well aimed punches.

"TAKE IT BACK!" I shouted.

"No!" she shouted back as we continued to fight. I wasn't sure how long we had been at it.  I knew we both must look a sight. My whole body ached, and I felt blood smeared across my face. Suddenly we were wrenched apart, both of us still kicking and flailing. Without a word, we were each dragged apart, and taken to our rooms.

So, this doesn't really go anywhere, but I felt like putting Gretel in a fight, since she is known for getting in them. I'm thinking maybe we could start special training soon for a real mission? What are everyone's thoughts?

Yes! That sounds great!

Ash~

The first thing I did when we were dismissed from the principal's office was change out of my mission clothes and back into the school uniform. I smiled to myself, thinking of how much Griffin would've hated uniforms. Nope. I shook my head. Don't go there. Just don't.

Master Cat, ha. Protector of the universe? No way. You can travel to a differnt planet and win some sword fights, but when everything takes a turn for the worst and you can't seem to do anything right, who says you're the Master Cat? No one. Who knows you're the master cat? No one. Who cares? Not anyone, really. The universe can take care of itself. There will be other heroes.

I try to push these thoughts away as I near the lunchroom. The smell of half-burnt cheese and burnt hot dogs fill my nostrils. I have a feeling I'm going to be settling for a salad today.

The lunchroom is already half full, even though the dinner bell only rang a few minutes ago. I wait in the salad line, which is suprisingly empty, it seems most of my peers want the macaroni and hot dog special.

My lunch tray in hand, I set off into the large expanse of people that is otherwise known as the lunchroom. My ears hurt even more than they usually do. I've gotten used to blocking out sound, but the lunchroom is still too much for me to handle.

"Hey Ash!" over the ruckus, I hear a barely audible voice. "Over here!"

i glance over and see one table where I see all of the members of the mission I just went on. They're beckoning me over. I veer through the expanse of tables until I reach theirs.

"Hi, Ash!" Gretel greets me. She is holding an ice pack to her eye, and looks like she's gotten into a fight.

"Hi," I reply.  On the inside, I've started thinking about it again. Oh great. Now even my teammates remind me of it!

The Master Cat. Lemon was a good master cat. Why'd I have to ruin it? It's my fault she's gone...

Same for my brothers and dad. Why was I not there to help them, even save them? Stupid. Stupid stupid me.

Fire. Could I have defeated the fire that took their lives?

No.

And that stupid nickname....

Ash, Ash, Ash....

"Ash!"  Elle is waving her hand in front of my face. "Are you okay?!"

"Yeah," I say, and sit down. "Sorry."

I eat my lunch I'm silence while the others talk, not daring to look up from my plate.

Oooooookay. Hmm. I'm trying to incorporate Ash's backstory and have it still make sense. Because the whole Master Cat thing is sort of messing this up. Oh well. And yes, I know it's dinner time, but it's a lunchroom.

~Jasmine~

I'm sitting with some unfamiliar people at lunch, forcing myself to join in the conversation.

Gretel's pressing a sack of crushed ice cubes to her temple, sitting next to Ash and communicating in hushed whispers.

"What happened?" I question, glancing at Gretel.

"Since when is that something of your concern?" the girl snarls defiantly.

I eye Ash for help, although I don't know him, like, at all.

He says nothing, but hesitantly places his hand on Gretel's shoulder as if to calm her down.

"Get off," she commands. "I don't need your help."

As Gretel storms off, leaving her tray of food behind her, I let out my held breath slowly, so that it won't sound like a sigh.

Gretel ~

As soon as I stormed off, I felt bad. I hated snapping at them, though I didn't need their. I didn't want help. I didn't want anyone to know exactly what happened that day. I didn't want them to see me break.

My emotions and thoughts were all in a jumble. I tried not to think about Hansel often. Every time I thought back, I felt anger, sadness, and guilt. Angry at my parents for leaving us like that. Overwhelming sadness that he was gone, even now. And most of all, guilt. Guilt that I had let him die. Guilt for how my life had turned out, compared to his. Guilt that it had been him, and not me.

Don't think like that. Push it away

I stormed back to my room, throwing myself over the chair, my legs dangling over the arm. That's when I noticed something sitting on the table. I got up, groaning at my pounding headache.

To Gretel Rose,

You are hereby asked to report to Principal Edith's office tomorrow morning at 10:00 precisely. Be dressed and prepared for combat.

Sincerely,

Principal Edith Whipple

The whole message was finely typed, accept for one side not handwritten side note.

(Tardiness will not be tolerated.)

"Of course not," I grumbled. Great, so now we really were going to get busted. This would be fun.

Miserably, I threw myself into bed, trying to sleep of the headache.
