Fairytale RP!

So Tovah had once made something like this, and I miss it, so I'm going to recreate it. I was thinking that you could either do a twist on a classic fairytale hero or heroine, or make your own. They go to a private high school to learn to fight aliens.

I'm going to go with the same character I had before.

Name: Gretel Rose

Appearence; Chin-length golden hair that curves in on one side and
curves out on the other. Dark, sapphire-blue eyes, slightly pink cheeks,
pale, small, at 5 ft. Commonly wears long sleeve camo shirt with denim
capris and lace up hunting boots. Or jeans, black t-shirt with Slay Your Own Dragons and a sword
on fire, black hunting boots. Oftenwears a cap. Whether navy blue or
camo.

Personality; Strong, quiet, observant, hard core, ready to fight. Loyal, open, and cheerful around her friends.

Story; So, this is a Hansel and Gretel in the modern world. Southern
girl! Her parents ditched her in the backwoods of Tennessee, in the
Great Smokey Mountains. A hunter thought she and her brother game and
accidentally shot him. (Explains what happens to Hansel.)

Power; She has a strong sense of direction, can see in the dark. Also can channel people's feelings well. Knows what they're feeling.

Weapon: Anything she can throw or shoot, except long spears. She can
throw knives, shoot a gun or bow. Whatever she can get her hands on.

So what do ya'll think? Good or bad idea?

Name: Aladin

Appearance: Skinny, gangly, soft black hair. Deep brown eyes and a sullen expression.

Personality: Happy when he is frolicking outside with his monkey

Story: So, you all know the story of Aladdin, right? OK, so the only reason that he got married to Jasmine the princess is because the sultan was so desperate for his daughter to have a wife that he persuaded Aladdin to marry her. He had to tell him that he would kill his monkey if he didn't marry her. So he married her, and is confined to the palace. But as long as his monkey is free and safe, he will be happy.

power: He can speak monkey!!!

Weapon:His secret monkey weapon that attacks on command!

@ Kikikat: Welcome to the RP! Interesting idea. I'd never thought of doing a twist on Aladdin!

@ Evan: Sorry, I haven't read The Hunger Games, as I don't really care for them, so I wouldn't know what I'm doing.

~Jasmine~

While walking out of the lunchroom, I collided into Aladdin, my future husband, chosen by my father.

"What are you doing?" he questioned, grabbing his books before they could fall.

"Um, leaving?" I crinkled my eyebrow, blew a wisp of hair out of my eyes, and continued to trudge away.

As he promptly followed me, I scoffed and shuffled as far away from him as possible while still walking next to him.

"Principal. Act lovey-dovey!" he hissed.

I quickly fell in step closer to him, plastering a fake, winning grin on my face. Aladdin let his hand fall onto my shoulder, and pursed his lips into a tight smile. The principal brushed past us, looking down and smiling warmly.

"Close one," I whispered as soon as she was out of earshot.

Aladdin nodded and turned left, and we went our separate ways.

I can't believe I'll have to marry this guy. I'm only fourteen!

~Snow~

The letter was waiting for me when I entered my dorm after lunch. On a crisp, white sheet of paper, the note was clearly typed.

To Snow Williard,

You are hereby asked to report to Principal Edith's office
tomorrow morning at 10:00 precisely. Be dressed and prepared for combat.

Sincerely,

Principal Edith Whipple

The note had an added postscript. Tardiness will not be tolerated.

I sighed. At least I would be able to skip Mr. Mundane's class. But I had had enough combat for a while.

"Did you get the letter?" Lila demands from me.

"From who?"

"The principal! All of the rest of us got it."

"I didn't."

What letter?!

Gretel ~

I awoke the next morning with a sense of apprehension, though I couldn't remember why. Probably had something to do with the pounding headache I still had from yesterday's fight. I took a quick look in the mirror to see that, yes indeed, the right side of my face, including my eye, was black, the corner of my mouth was swollen, and I looked like I hadn't slept in weeks.

I stumbled into the center of the room, sleep still in my eyes.

"Dang it," I shouted from my place on the floor where I'd tripped over the coffee table. I wasn't used to it being there. Then I vaguely recalled kicking it the night before. I sat up, coming eye level with a piece of paper laying on the coffee table. Then it all came flooding back.

"Crud!" I shouted, jumping up.

Ten o'clock, ten o'clock. You're supposed to be there at ten o'clock! I thought madly as I flung open drawers, pulling out combat clothes and gear. I threw on a pair of camo cargo pants and yanked on a green t-shirt. For extra measure, I pulled on a black leather jacket, and slapped my army cap on. Overall, this made me look like a very short military sergeant, but who cares? I bolted out the door, rushing down the hall shouting; "I'm late, I'm late, I'm going to be late!"

Now, this is where being short can come in handy. I ducked under people's arms and bags, dogding books and notepads. Nobody paid me any attention. This was quite normal, for me at least.

I raced into the principal's office, skidding to a stop just as the clock struck ten. Principal Edith looked up, her face a mixture of amusement and exasperation. She finally sighed, and returned to writing something down. That's when I took notice of the others standing in the room. Snow, Rose Red, Elle, Ash, and Jasmine each stood lined against the wall, looking uncertain of what was going on. I moved over next to them, standing beside Jasmine.

"Now," Principal Edith started, laying down her pen. "As to why I called you here. Any ideas?" She said this in almost an... amused manor, which surprised me.

"We're busted," I said, seeing no other possible explaination.

Principal Edith laughed. I mean, she actually laughed. I was very nearly knocked off my feet in shock.

"No Gretel, you are not in trouble. Quite the contrary actually." She reached into her desk, and pulled out an assortment of folders, six in all. One for each of us.

"We've been monitering the students for the past six months, trying to decide which of you would be best suited to the task at hand. The last mission was the final test, each of you qualifying with flying colors."

"So wait, the dragon, the dark halls and everything was supposed to happen?" Rose Red asked, speaking for all of us.

"Yes. We had purposely had students sanctioned off for this test, based on what we'd seen for who would work best with each other. You six performed yours the best, and therefore were selected, should you choose to accept."

Ahh I'm just going to write this.

Ash~

We.... we had passed the test?!

I wasn't completely surprised, one part of me had sort of known this would happen when I got the note, the other part of me unsure if I was in trouble or not. I guess not.

"I'll accept," said Gretel, who had just run in at the last minute.

Snow nodded. "Me too." Shortly, everyone had agreed but me.

"Ash?" asked the principal.

"I accept," I said. I looked at the others. Did they want me here? "But what's the 'task at hand?'" I added, realizing none of us knew what we were getting into.

That's all I'm writing for now. Ash wasn't very good in this segment, but it didn't have a very good keyboard to type with.

Okay, then, I guess I'll go ahead and write.

Gretel ~

"But what's the 'task at hand'"? Ash asked, speaking for all of us. Principal Edith smiled again. I officially knew Armageddon was on its way.

"That information will come later, when you're ready. For now, you each will undergo training. As a group, and some individual training as well."

I got a little nervous at the mention of "individual training," which didn't sound pleasant.

"Your training starts now," Principal Edith said, an turned back to her work. Mrs. Lanie led us out, and down to the gym. We entered to find a tall, brunette woman dressed in black with black sunglasses. She was evidently expecting us. Mrs. Lanie spoke to the woman a moment, then quickly left.

"Welcome trainees," she said, removing her sunglasses to reveal large, brown eyes. "I'm Alex, and for the next three months, I'll be your coach. This will be the most rigorous training course you have ever undertaken. But it will prepare you for what lies ahead."

I was starting to get edgy. Why did we need so much training? What were we being sent out to do?

Sorry, I haven't been writing. I was busy studying for exams, but I am back!

~Rose Red~

I walked to Principal Edith's office ten minutes early; I didn't want to risk being late. The receptionist, Mrs. Parker, was typing on her typewriter because she refused to succumb to the 'modern society and its technology'. The door slowly shut, creaking as it moved. I froze. Do I go in now, or should I wait for the others? Mrs. Parker looked up with a smile that put me at complete unease. She wasn't smiling because she was happy to see me, nor was it the type of smile that you knew you're doomed with. She pointed towards Principal Edith's closed door and said, "Principal Edith is waiting." I nodded and rushed towards the door. This was starting to get on my nerves.

I reached the door and put my hand on the gold doorknob, then paused. Principal Edith was talking to someone. "...make them work until...it's about survival...show them why they are here." Principal Edith's voice waved in and out, giving me only a scattered sense of what was going to happen. We were in big trouble.

Mrs. Parker cleared her throat, making me jump about a mile causing the door to open. Great! Now she'll think I'm an eavesdropper. I thought. Well, you techically are, another part of me said. Principal Edith immediately stopped her conversation and told the phone, or rather the person on the other end of it, "The first is here," and hung up.

Principal Edith montioned for me to sit down in the seat across from her. "No thank-you. I think some of the others might want to sit," I mumbled, choosing to stand against the wall. She nodded and began writing something on a piece of paper in front of her. I never thought that silence could be deafening, but it certainly was now. Suddenly the door opened and Ash walked in, followed by the rest of the crew. Gretel was the only one missing.

The clock read 9:59. Please don't let her be late! Just as the second hand reached the 12, Gretel clumsily stumbled into the room. Principal Edith spoke, "As to why I called you here. Any ideas?" Her voice was amused, and she spoke each syllable slowly and deliberately. We were silent, waiting for our leader to respond. "We're busted," Gretel said. Then, a miracle happened. Principal Edith LAUGHED. It was unheard of.

I stood there, shocked, as she began to explain the situation. With each sentence spoken, I relaxed. We weren't in trouble. We were selected for an important mission.

We were to train with a seemingly nice lady named Alex. After being introduced, Alex said, "The first thing we will train for is alertness." The six of us looked at each other. We had learned about alertness in our beginning courses at the academy. In the time it took us to look at each other, Alex was gone. "Alex?" Snow question tenatively. "Hey!" Elle yelled, "Something just hit me!" "Hey, I felt it too," Jasmine said. "Stay calm everyone," Gretel said, trying to bring order. Gretel suddenly squealed she was raised into the air and placed on the beam 20 feet in the air. "Wow!" I whispered watching her go into the air.

Ash hadn't said anything up to this point, and he started to bolt. Little to his knowledge, or to the rest of us, light beams were placed all around us. As soon as he walked into one, sharp arrows flew from the left, caught onto his clothes and pinned him to the wall.

"Guys, be careful," I said, "We don't know what we are dealing with." Snow, Jasmine and Elle nodded and cautiously looked around. "Aagh!" Elle screamed as a rope wound around her, wrapping her tightly up to her shoulders.

Jasmine rushed over to Ash, "Are you okay?" Ash nodded. "I'll help you down," she said, reaching for the first arrow. Before reaching it, the floor beneath her suddenly dropped ten feet.

I looked at Snow, "I guess it is just you and me," I said. "I'll see if I can get to the door," Snow said. I nodded, but the first step she took made her fly into the air in a rope net. I gulped, five down with me to go.

Suddenly, the lights went out, leaving us in nearly complete darkness. A neon yellow string was about five feet away from me. I hoped it would turn the lights on, so I wondered over to it. "Rose, do not pul..." Gretel yelled, but it was too late. A huge metal cage clattered on the floor capturing me.

Just then, the lights turned on and Alex walked in carrying a stack of papers. Surveying the scene around her, she smirked.  "We have along way to go."

Ash~

"We have a long way to go," Alex said, surveying all of us, as the lights flashed back on. I didn't like Alex much. Sure, she seemed friendly, but after this pre-test, it was obvious she was up to more than she let on, and she gave off a bad vibe towards me. Perhaps this was just my inhertant paronia I had gotten over the last few years, or maybe it was something more.

Alex dissapeared again, and in a few seconds everything was seemingly back to normal. Everyone was out of the predicament they had gotten themselves into.

"Okay!" Alex shouted at us. "Let lesson one, alertness, part one commence! We're going to start with a drill. Elle, would you help me?" Elle nodded, somewhat cautiously, and ran up to stand beside Alex.

"This is how the drill works," Alex says. She held up two small balls. One was red, and the other one was blue. "These are not ordinary balls." She threw the blue one. It hit the wall, and bounced back at her, and she was holding it again, all in the midst of a second. If anyone would've blinked, they would've missed it.

"That's right," said Alex. "These are super fast balls. Don't ask me how they work, you aren't here to study science and physics. At least, not right now. Here is what you are going to be doing." Alex handed Elle a bag filled with red and blue balls, though more than three fourths of them were red.

"Your partner will throw the balls at you. If it is a red ball, you avoid it. If it is a blue ball, you try to get hit by it. Elle, throw some of them at me."

Elle nodded and began to grab balls out of the bag, and throw them at Alex, who moved out of the way as fast if not faster than the red balls. But when Elle threw a blue one, Alex went out of her way to get hit by the ball.

"Don't worry," she reasured the class. "They might look hard, and they bounce like rubber, but they feel like styrofoam when the hit you." We nodded, both eager and nervous to get started.

"Oh!" Alex exclaimed. "I forgot to mention. This is when we're going to split up, durning drills like this. I'm going to be training with one of you as your indivitual training while the rest of you do drills. I know that means there's five of you, making partner work like this harder, so I've invited a fine young gentleman to step in when we need him."

Jasmine gasped sharply. "Aladin! Why is he the one they choose!"

Aladin had just entered the room through the door of which we had also entered. He looked somewhat irritated to be here, like the very room was an insult against him. "I'm here," he said to Alex in monotone.

"That's great, we were just going to get on with a drill! Whoever you're partnered with will explain it to you," Alex said. "Now who'd like to come with me for the indivitual training?" No one voluntered. "Okay, then," Alex said. "I'll just have to choose myself. How about... Ash."

I felt a wave of panic sweep through me, but I nodded. As the other kids partnered up, Alex beckoned me to another side of the gym.

"This is the door to the back room where indvitual training will take place," she explained. I nodded, and followed her, not speaking, into the room.

"Oh, come on, don't be shy," Alex said. "That'll get you nowhere."

"Dog."

"What?" I had realised why Alex gave off a strange vibe.

"You're... you are somehow connected to dogs..."

"Let's get on with the indvitual training," Alex cut me off, iritated.

I gulped, wondering why she had chosen me as the first to do indvitual training with, but knowing her reasons at the exact same moment. And her reasons were not so good at all.

Goody goody!

Gretel ~

Being snatched up and put up on a way up beam was by no means cool. My senses were screaming at me not to trust Alex. She reminded me that cannibal hag with a shotgun that Hansel and I had the misfortuen of meeting up with when we were lost. I felt sorry for Ash as he followed Alex out of the room for "individual training". I could tell he didn't like her much either.

We split up into pairs, each of us taking a bag of balls that had suddenly appeared. Jasmine paired with Alladin, though she didn't seem particularly pleased with that. Snow and Rose Red paired up, leaving Elle and I.

"Ready?" I asked, picking up a ball, and getting into a pitcher's stance. She seemed unsure, but nodded.

"Here we go!" I shouted, and hurled the first ball. She missed it narrowly, letting it hit the wall behind her, and rebound, flying straight back into my hand. I expected a painful punch, and the usual stinging sensation when something hard hit your hand, but all I felt was a gentle thud. Alex was honest about that, it really was like styrofoam.

I picked up several more, cupping my arm to hold them, and hurled them one after another at Elle. Some she missed, some bounced off her arms and legs. All in all, she did pretty well.

"Are you ready?" Elle asked, holding a ball in either hand. I nodded, breathing light and fast. My muscles were tense, ready to spring at the slightest sound. That was the only good thing about having to survive in the woods. It made my reflects sharp, and made me aware of everything. Evidently though, it hadn't been enough.

Elle hurled the first ball, which I managed to dodge. Quickly, the throws became faster, more balls flying through the air. One after another flew past my face, whipping through my hair. Several hit against my body, but I didn't pay any attention to those. Soon, the bag was empty.

"Tally up the hits," I said panting to Elle. Alex had given us sheets to keep track of our hits and misses so we could track our progress.

"Out of twenty four, I missed eleven, and was hit by thirteen. For you, out of twenty four, you missed eight, and were hit by fourteen."

I curled my hands into fists. I was going to do better, I was determined. I somehow felt that if I proved myself, I would somehow make it up to Hansel for letting him die. I tried to push away that feeling, tell myself it wasn't so. But I couldn't shake the feeling.

Gah! I haven't exactly been posting, have I? Sorry! Well, Here's one.

~Snow~

I had no reason not to trust Alex, right? Not. She was like my step mother, without the kindness. So maybe she didn't show it, but I could just tell that she knew each of our secrets, and was ready to use up our weaknesses.

"Ready?" I asked Rose. She nodded.

"Are you going first, or should I?" she asked.

"I'll throw," I said quickly. I didn't want to be the one to test out the truth in Alex's words. She was as sneaky as a wicked stepmother and twice as wily.

Rose shrugged, and handed the bag to me. Blue and red balls started flying from my hands.

Rose was pretty good. She was able to dodge quickly, but it was hard to see which color ball was coming at you until it was to late. Twenty-four balls later, I checked her score.

"Twenty four balls total. Out of the twelve blue, you missed seven, and were hit by five. Out of the red, missed three, and were hit by nine."

Rose grimaced. "As much as I hate to say it, Alex was right. We do have a long way to go."

I frowned. "Don't say that. On the bright side, we . . . "I was realizing that there was almost no bright side. "Well . . . you were the last one in the first trap."

I could tell that even Rose wasn't buying that. "We were all eliminated pretty quickly," she said. "Come on, your turn to dodge."

I stood on my toes, ready to dodge at the least bit of movement. Dodge, duck, spin, jump. The movements came naturally to me. Unfortunately, they came at the wrong time. When I jumped, I should have ducked. The ball took me full force, right on the face.

If it was any other ball, my nose might have been broken. But Alex had been truthful this once. The ball bounced off as if my face was a wall, and it felt only as if I had been hit by foam.

At the end of my round, Rose tallied up the score. "Twenty-four balls. Twelve blue balls, missed six, hit by six. Twelve red balls, missed two, hit by ten."

I winced. "Ouch. Ready to go at it again?"

Rose nodded, then we both whipped our head around to the door that Ash and Alex had entered. Gretel, Elle, Jasmine, and Aladdin  all stopped what they were doing, and stared.

"Torture," I murmured. All right, so maybe not it, but with Alex, who knows? All we knew was that muffled shouts of alarm were coming from the room, and though I couldn't positively identify the person shouting, I had a feeling it wasn't Alex.
