Harry Potter RP

Chatterbox: Inkwell

Harry Potter RP

Harry Potter RP

I recently watched Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and felt the urge to have a "Tri-Wizard Tournament" RP but this time with a twist so that not only three people participate. This is my idea. Instead of it being a Tri-Wizard Tournament, it's a Multi-Wizard Tournament. That means that the champions don't only come from Beau-Baton, Durmstrang or Hogwarts but they can also come from some wizarding school that you made up. The tournament itself will take place at Hogwarts.

I'll post my character later. Please join! I think this RP could be pretty fun. Plus, I don't think we've had an HP RP in a while.

One more important question: should this be before, during or after Harry?

OOOH! I love this idea! Actually, Moss created a Hogwarts RP a little while ago, though it died off. It took place during the time of the Marauders. I'm cool with anytime though.

Name: Danielle Wood  (though people sometimes call her Dannie)

Gender: Female

Age: 13 (Unless we're going with the must be 17 rule)

Appearance: Gold blonde hair she keep pulled back in a pony tale, except for a few strands that frame either side of her face, very very dark blue eyes, pale skin, short at about 5'. When not in uniform, wears an army green army cap (is rarely seen without this), a white t-shirt, matching green vest, jeans, either brown lace up boots, or navy blue converse sneakers.

Personality: Warm, friendly, ever so slightly insane, smart, likes to read and skateboard. Likes to pull pranks, and is slightly punkish in attitude. Will defend her friends fiercely whether they're in the right or not because she doesn't have many. Also despises twitty, shallow people.

Other: Wants to one day grow up to be an auror. Her parents are muggles.

So there ya go! That is Danielle.

@BHR- You forgot one thing! :) Which school is Danielle from?

I like the idea of doing this RP either before or after Harry Potter... And I'd say there is no must-be 17 rule.

Name: Kyary Smith

Age: 14

School: Japanese Wizarding Academy for Young Witches and Wizards

Appearance: Long, thick, pitch-black hair; relatively short; thin; small waist, olive skin; dark brown eyes

Personality: Shy to the point of not talking at all; logical thinker

Talents: She has a knack for dueling spells and charms.

Family: Her mom's Japanese and her dad's English. Her English is very fluent because she learned it at school and speaks English with her father at home. And her parents are both wizards.

Gah! *facepalm* I knew I forgot something! Danielle will be from Hogwarts. I'll decide her house once the RP gets going.

And I like the idea of maybe doing it after Harry, but I'm cool with whatever.

I think I may bring back the RP. The reason I hadn't posted on it lately was because of school and NaNoWriMo. So is two Hogwarts RPs ok? One in the Mauraders and one in regular Hogwarts...?

AWESOME!

Name: Mathis Silver

Age: 12

Appearance: picture your favorite type of hat. Now make it blue. That's the hat Mathis is wearing, it changes appearances based on who's looking at it. What does it look like to Mathis? We don't know. He has gray-ish brown hair and blue eyes. His vest is a blue that matches his hat. He wears robes that are part of the school uniform.

Personality: this usually changes as I start writing. So I don't know. For right now let's just say that he likes books.

School: The Cabinet of Irregulars Private School. Muggles think it's a law school. Oh. And it's in America. In Minnesota. Because I can.

Talents: Can read peoples' faces very well. Takes a hypnotism corse at CoI that is very hard to get in to and stay in. In result, he is one of the six kids in that class.

@Blackberry E, Just curious, but is the Dream Academy possibly a reference to the band Dream Academy? We have on of their record albums at home and I very much like their songs.

@Moss- Sure! Having two HP RPs doesn't sound that bad.

I guess we'll do this after Harry if that's okay...

Um...no. I never knew they existed! Should I change the name?

You don't need to do that! Sorry, I was just curious. They're not a modern band, they're from a record album my parents have had for some twenty years. I was wondering if I wasn't the only one who had heard of them.

I guess I'll post first...

Kyary-

“Mamma! I already have a rain jacket AND a windbreaker. I do not need another.” I pushed my mother’s hands away from my full to bursting trunk. I probably would never use half the stuff I had packed anyway.

“But England is cold, Kyary! You know that from visiting Granny. You always complain about the weather.”

I rolled my eyes and zipped the trunk before Mamma could sneak anything more into it. “Except for I’m not going to England to visit Granny but to possibly take part in the Multi-Wizard Tournament.” According to the biography of Harry Potter that I read, the last Wizard Tournament was in Harry’s fourth year. There one boy was killed and Voldemort was “brought back” to life. It took the Ministry of Magic a long time to decide if they should ever have a tournament again but they finally consented. Schools from all over the world are going to Hogwarts to compete.

“Kyary! Are you ready?” Dad called from downstairs. “Hurry up! Or we might miss the bus.” I grabbed my trunk, checked my uniform in the mirror – Miss Ogawa, our headmistress, hated it when her students did not look in top shape – and finally made my way down the stairs, Mamma asking me unneeded questions.

“Do you have your wand?”

“Of course.”

“Stationary?”

“Yes.”

“Enough socks?”

I groaned in exasperation. “I didn’t forget anything, okay? Plus if I did, I could always buy new socks.”

“Calm down, dear.” Dad patted my mother’s back. “You’re making Kyary nervous.”

*

The Japanese Wizarding Academy for Witches and Wizards was situated only a little outside of Tokyo. This time however, we were driving straight into the bustling middle of the city. If my parents weren’t wizards, we would have gotten caught in the thick traffic but there was a spell cast on the car that let it magically slip through microscopic spaces between cars. That way we reached the meeting place in minutes.

The meeting place was on a little side street, past a sushi bar and a dumpster. It was cloudy and dark; not usually the place you would want to meet at, yet the Wizarding World clearly thought otherwise.

Mamma’s hands were clenched so tightly in her lap that her knuckles turned white. “Are you sure this is the right place?” She asked for the billionth time. Dad almost hitting a family that appeared out of thin air in front of us answered her question.

“Who do they think they are?” Dad swore loudly.

I remained quiet in the back seat. Aimi Miyasaki, daughter of parents who worked closely with the Ministry, had every right to land in front of our car. I watched as she glanced at our car, then leaned towards her younger brother, whispered something in his ear, causing him to turn around and look at our car, an amused expression on his otherwise arrogant face.

Dad stopped the car. “I think we should say goodbye here.” Neither of my parents would say it aloud but if they walked with me to the bus, both of them would probably break into tears.

“Be safe, Kiddo, and we’ll be keeping up with the news.” Dad leaned back and kissed my forehead.

“Don’t forget to bundle up,” was all Mamma said, dabbing her eyes with a handkerchief.

I stepped out of the car, pulling my trunk behind me. Only a little ahead sat the bus, Miss Miri in front of it.

“Hello Kyary.”

“Hello Miss Miri.”

“Leave your trunk here and get into the bus.”

I made my way to the door on the side of the bus. Although I was used to magic, the inside still made my jaw drop. The entire place was only a little smaller than a penthouse. In the middle was a common room with comfortable couches and a shelf full of books. On the wall opposite me were two doors: one labeled boys, the other girls. Everything was painted in soothing pastel colors.

“Kyary’s father almost killed me today.” Aimi said loudly. As usual, she was surrounded by a group of admiring girls. “He was being very muggle-like. Or maybe that’s just how the Brits are.” The others laughed.

I bowed my head, not knowing what to say. As soon as I was with people, my common knowledge seemed to turn off, leaving only a big lump of nothing. Instead of lashing back with a witty remark about Aimi’s father, I scurried over towards the girls rooms.

Yay! It's begun!

Danielle ~

"Dannie, let's go!" Susan said impatiently, leaning in the door way, and frowning at me as I stood in front of the mirror. As good a friend as she was, she couldn't for the life of her understand why I didn't like the idea of getting dressed up. Even slightly. The Professors had told us that we should try to look our best for the welcoming of other schools for the Multi-Wizard Tournament. I found it interesting Profesor Malinor had been looking at me when she said it.

"I look ridiculous," I muttered ignoring her, glaring at my reflection. Susan had insisted on helping me get ready, which meant putting on a fresh blouse under my vest, scrubbing the stains out of my skirt and making sure the pleats were folded neatly. She'd taken the liberty of doing my hair as well, which meant she'd brushed out every one of the tangles (I'd never experienced anything so painful), styled it around my shoulders (I hate my hair down), taking the hair that framed my face and curling it (I didn't even know that was possible), and making me look like... well, her.

"Don't be silly," Susan said soothingly, adjusting one of the curls. "You look beautiful." I doubted how that was possible next to Susan, who had lush, deep red hair that fell in ringlets around her face and shoulders, bright green eyes, and a coquettish smile.

I couldn't help but snort.

"Well anyway, come on. There's no time to change it." She gripped my arm, and led me toward the door. On the way out, I grabbed my army cap, and quickly slapped it on my head.

"Oh well that ruins the whole thing!" Susan pouted.

"Oh well," I grinned, and hurried ahead. "Come on!" I mimicked her. "There's no time to change it!" This got a grin from her, and we hurridly exited the Gryffindor common room, joing the throng of students heading toward the Great Hall.

Cynthia*

When the wind chimes sang school out, I grabbed my pink and orange satchell, and raced out the door. The sun was streaking in through the transparent, glass walls. Stained glass flowers wove around the windows, and the light changed color to pink, blue, and green. I slowed down to gaze out the windows at the majestic gardens splaid out across the grounds. The other girls pushed by me and raced onwards, to their dorms to pack. I wondered why they weren't as touched by the scenery. I stood there for a while, oblivious of time itself.

"Cynthia Parker! We're going to be late, dear, why haven't you packed yet?" Miss Victoria's voice came to me from somewhere far away. I turned to look up at her standing beside me.

"Why, Miss Victoria, don't you love the flowers...and the sun.. and the trees today?"I said, directing my gaze back to the window, and fingering the glass panes. Miss Victoria looked out the window blankly. But she didn't really see it.

"That's nice, dear. But we really need to hurry. We're set to depart in an hour." She put her hands on my shoulders and gently turned me around. "Do you need anything before we go?"

I shook my head, but I was worried. "Won't it be very far from home?" I said quietly. Miss Victoria hesitated, and then said, "Cynthia, of course it will be a ways, but you're growing up. It's time to see the world." She walked off, and sighing, I was headed to my class's dorm.

Most of the other girls had already finished packing and were stuffing in last treasures and as much candy as would fit. I hastily threw together some clothes, a stash of Bertie Bott's, and my collection of painted rocks. I put on my moonstone necklace for luck, and a woolen bear sweater that was to big for me. I ran a brush through my hair, and put on a butterfly antenna headband.

When we were ready, Ms. Victoria and the principal, Miss Augustine, led us down a series of steps to an underground bunker, where a round train awaited us. We gave our luggage to a wizard with a top hat, and settled ourselves in the posh seats. With a final word of instruction and a signal, the train started up. And with a blast of steam ringlets, and a shower of sparks, we were off.

Astrid--

The sudden snow has prevented the school from witnessing our take off.  We're all huddled together in our heat bubbles, which keep the snow out.  Someone is talking to me, their message entering and popping.

"Good Luck!" It says in the voices of the girls from my dormitory that aren't coming to Hogwarts.  Then the pre-recorded icy voice intones "Would you like to reply?"

"Reply opportunity declined," I say.  They've probably forgotten they sent this anyway.

I flip over in the air from stress, moving a couple feet behind me, accidentally leaving my trunk and broom behind, not to mention Lagynede, sitting in her cage and ruffling her feathers.  I quickly walk back, moving the heat bubble to encompass my luggage.

A wizard has appeared in front of the gates and quickly Apparates into the school grounds.  He stumbles and then sends out eight speech bubbles, each for one of the girls and boys partaking in the voyage.

"Please gather in front of the gates, I am Hogwarts personnel Neville Longbottom, here to guide you to the Portkey." The bubble pops.  So they're here already.  "Um, uh, oh.  Am I supposed to ask you to reply?  Okay, I'm not used to these new spells, but please indicate if you would like to send a message back." a younger version of this Professor Longbottom's voice says, stuttering.  He obviously hasn't re-recorded it since the bubble spells became popular.

"Reply oppurtuniity accepted." I say. "Uh, say your message when I'm done talking, I guess." the bubble says.

"Welcome, Professor Longbottom!  I'm Astrid Grimsenn, and I was wondering if we were going to have to go far to get to the Portkey, because I have a falcon that I should let fly if we'll be a while."  I say quickly. "Message ends here."  The speech bubble leaves and I pick up my baggage and walk over to the gate where everyone else has congregated, their heat bubbles merging into one big mess.

My bubble attaches next to one of the boys on the Quidditch team.

"Hello," I say.

"Hi," he says back and smirks.  There's always one arrogant kid going to the Multi-Wizard.

"Think there's going to be a Quidditch tournament?" I ask. "They could always do something to the bludgers and make it an event for the tournament."

"Probably not.  They didn't say anything about brooms, and we'd have more players on the team if that were happening." He looks sure of himself.  I take note of everyone else's brooms at their sides.

"That might be a good idea, then they could eliminate unprepared students.  Or give them faulty school issue brooms." I say. "Did you put yours in your trunk?"  I ask politely.  His is too small to fit one, obviously.

"Uh, yeah," he says shyly.  He hasn't, I can guarantee that.

"Hi, everyone!" Professor Longbottom says.  He coughs into a hankerchief.  "I know that some of you are concerned about the distance to the Portkey, as you have animals and such that could fly the distance easier.  Well, you don't have to worry, because I just happened to bring the Portkey with me.  Unfortunately, we're a little behind schedule, so it's probably going to go off any second, and we'll have to act quickly now-" He takes a pencil out of his pocket and promptly disappears.

I guess we lost our ride, then.

***

I hope it's okay that I included Neville, seeing as he could technically still be teaching if it's fourty years from the last Tournament.  We all know about Hogwarts' nonexistant retirement program...

Also, I'd forgotten how Portkeys work, but I think they're timed.  If they're activated some other way, please ignore and adjust to your specifications.

Spamster in his spamster cage says mayb.  Maybe the Earth will explode!  Well, it all depends, really.
