DEBATE CLUB!

DEBATE CLUB!

Since there were some issues with my first thread on this, I'm starting over with this new one!

Okay, so here are the rules:

1. Respect the other side, even though you disagree.

2. No judging, please.

3. Feel free to suggest ideas!

4. Always ask for permission before doing anything that I might not be okay with.

5. There is no sign-up deadline. Even if we're already starting, you can jump in. Just make sure you clarify your position.

The first topic will be reading vs. writing.

Here is a list of people who already signed up, and where they stand.

In reading, you can take a break from the limits of your thinking. In writing, you're always limited to your mind. But when you read, you're able to explore what other people think, plus get ideas for your own writing!

By the way, I thought of a really good debate topic: "Are smartphones good or bad for us?"

In some writing, like the writing Fred Durbin will be doing in Crowd Scorcery, you read about many things and sort of . . . knit them together. Then it is MUCH more open. Joint writing like RPs are also unlimited , with 8 or 9 people thinking of unlikely and creative ideas. So not ALL writing is limited to the constraints of your mind.

That was super smart, Indigo!

P.S. Bookbug, I like your topic idea.

Great idea, Bookbug! That'll be next time's debate topic for sure.

Indigo made an amazing point for the writing side, and the reading side hasn't argued back, so...do they give up?

Indigo made a really good point. I give up! *holds hands in the air*

I give up to but I still like reading better personally

Okay!

The next debate topic will be on smartphones: Are they good or bad for us?

I'm on the side of them being good for us.

Comment your side here!

I'm still kind of neutral, but I'm going to counter everyone's points, okay?

submitted by Madeline

Hahaha. Okay.

Guys, no one else do this - since Madeline asked first, only she can be neutral. Everyone else, please pick your side!

I'm arguing that smart phones are bad for people.
