I really, really,

Chatterbox: Inkwell

I really, really,

I really, really, really, do not want to offend anyone out there with this post. *blushes* But, erm, does anyone here like writing, well, realistic stories? I AM NOT SAYING THAT FANTASY IS AWFUL. It's just not my thing (other than Harry Potter) and I prefer writing stories about real life. Again, fantasy lovers, DO NOT TAKE OFFENSE!

Embarassed

p.s. This is my Inkwell challenge thread. I'VE DONE ALL SIX!!! YAY!!! *celebrates*

Actually, though I'm not writing a realistic story, I am writing a historical fiction story right now.  It's about this girl who *drons on and on about her story*  I don't want to bore you to death.Laughing

I love to hear people drone on and on about their stories. I do it enough myself.

I like to write realistic fiction! I've co-written one really long fantasy with my best friend, but most of my stories and stuff are realistic fiction. I actually enjoy writing both fantasy and realistic. I think the two balance eachother out, so I have a good blend of stories I can work with.

I usually write realistic fiction as well. It's not that I stink at fantasy... but it takes work to make fantasy really original and uncliched, and I really am more devoted to my realistic fiction stories. I also find that it's easier to relate to realistic fiction, and I can also take bits of my own life and weave them int to add a sense of authenticity. I, too, have nothing whatsoever against fantasy, but sometimes I prefer reading it to writing it.

Historical fiction, however, is another matter. No offense to anybody, but BELCH. :(

You're so limited when you write it, and I really dislike doing research for pleasure writing.

Cry

*cries* I LOVE to write historical fiction.  After fiction/fantasty  I write all the time.  Though everyone is entitled to their own opinion, I really really think that more people should write historical fiction.

I've written some short realistic fiction stories. They are easier to relate to, but I prefer fantasy. Also, I think historical fiction can be fun to write. They are a good way too learn from your mistakes. And if you write about a time period you know a lot about and are interested in, it's actually pretty easy and fun.

Hmm, I think with the historical fiction it's the research that kills me. Plus, I don't typically read historical fiction. Although I'm considering reading that book Breadand Roses, Too. Any reviews?
