Millennia~

A momentry silence comes over us after l suggest we go for help.

"But who would we go for help?"  Nellethiel asks, "Who could we trust?"  "I don't know," l admit, "but maybe, with the right supplies, we could--"

The door suddenly swings open to the rain-soaked world. Two girls stand in the doorway, dripping wet. " Amethyst! Joy Rose!" exclaims Evelyn, "what are you doing here?" The younger of the two grins. "We've come to help you."

Evelyn turns to face Allyson and me. "This is Princecess Amethyst, and this is Princecess Joy Rose."

"Princecess?" l am baffled. "Why in the world would they be over here?"

"Because," says Joy Rose, "we want to help the griffin."

As they enter the shack they see Leo lying on the dirt floor.  "Oh," says Amethyst, "look here!" She points to the arrow embeded in Leo's wing. Around it is this strange purple liquid. "What is it?' Allyson asks. "I think it's posion," observed Joy Rose. She adds solemnly, "It's very lethal. The griffin might die within a day."

"Then," proclaims  Nellethiel, "we'll have to remove the arrow. Who here is a healer?"

"l have some experience with healing, although, l can't do much without supplies. That's the problem. We have no medical supplies," l say, doubtful.

Amethyst's eyes brighten. "I know where the castle's doctors keep their supplies! We could get some. What do you need?"

"Well, we need water, bandages, blankets, medicine, firewood, and food. lt will be a lot."

"All of us expect for you can go get the supplies. You can stay with the griffin," says Allyson. We agree to the plan and they leave the shack.

l sit there for a while, listening to the rain and the breathing of the griffin. l wonder what is taking the others so long when l hear footsteps approaching the tiny building.

l stand up, alarmed, as the door slowly creaks open, and a boy slowly creeps in, gripping a raipier. He starts at the sight of me. "Where is Princcess Amethyst?"  l don't answer, but spread my wings until they fill the entire width of the tiny building, menacingly.

Then he sees Leo, unconscious to the world. He almost seems to smile and raises his raiper. It's now or never, l think, hesitating  for a second.

Then, in a flurry of feathers, l tackle him to the ground.

Cloudy, that was all my fault. I got confused about Evelyn's personality, then I tried to cover up my mistake and it got even more confusing. I am sorry.

Amethyst~

Panic wells up in me.

"JOY ROSE!" I cry. Rainwater fills my mouth and I spit it out.

"Here!" The answering call sends relief spreading slowly all over my body. Joy Rose slogs towards me through the mud and rain.

"They took the griffin to the gate house," she says, pulling me in that direction.

"My father is going to be sooooo mad at me," I mutter.

"Why? And is that why you left the courtyard?" Joy Rose is suddenly very interested.

"Yes, and... he will be mad at me for a lot of reasons. Can we discuss this later?" I ask awkwardly. The rain has slowed considerably be the time we reach the gate house.  When we open the door, I see several girls and two elves surrounding the griffin, just like Joy Rose described. Introductions proceed, and an examination of Leo, which is apparently the griffin's name, takes place. Joy Rose declares the arrow poisoned, and Millenia says we will need supplies to heal him. Thinking about the castle (my home is kind of in between a palace and a castle so I do not really know what to call it) doctor's quarters stocked with any kind of medical supplies, I volunteer right away. It is decided that all of us except Millenia will collect the supplies. I think this is rather dangerous, as more people make more noise, but I do not object to the plan. Evelyn looks nervously at the castle as we walk towards it.

"Okay, listen," Joy Rose takes charge, "we will have to climb up to Amethyst's window, which I left open so that we won't be seen."

"We can cut through the courtyard so that we can get there faster," I advice.

"Okay," Allyson answers, speaking for everyone. I lead them to the outside entrance to the courtyard, which is thankfully unbolted, and we all pass into it silently. When we are a quarter of the way across, we hear voices.

"Shhh,"  Nellethiel warns. Through the decorative shrubbery, I can make out a few of the guards talking to my parents.

"The griffin is gone, we shot it down with a poisoned arrow," one of the guards says.

"Is it dead?" Mother asks tentatively.

"No, not dead, but it probably flew away to die," the guard answers.

"I don't understand it. A griffin in our courtyard," Mother murmers so softly that I can hardly hear her.

"It is not so unlikely, dear," Father says.  We continue to steal through the couryard and out the other side. The moon illuminates the wall that we will all soon be climbing.

"Okay, let's go," Joy Rose begins to climb steadily. I look behind me at Evelyn, who looks scared.

"You can go back to the gate house with Millenia," I whisper gently to her. I can tell she is fighting with the idea of going back in the dark alone, or climbing the three story wall. Finally, she nods gratefully and sprints of into the darkness.

"It will be better if we don't all go in," Joy Rose calls from halfway up the stone wall, "what about Nellethiel and I get the supplies and pass them down to you?" Nellethiel agrees.

"Wait, do you know where to go?" I ask Joy Rose, me head tilted upward so that I can see her.

"Yes," she answers, reaching the top, and disapearing into the curtains. It amazes me how fast she climbs. Nellethiel climbs next, and they are gone. Allyson and I wait, and wait and wait worriedly.

Prince Cale~

"Let me go!" I spat furiously at the hawk-girl trying to pin me, "DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM?!?"

"I couldn't care less!" She yelled, "You want to kill Leo, I know it!"

Use the power of the Stone, A dark voice in my head beckons.

I felt something inside me turn cold, dark and horribly cold.

I spun my rapier in my hand, slicing madly at her.

"I AM PRINCE CALE STONEHOLD THE FOURTH OF THE NORTHERN KINGDOM!" I shoved her off me and regained my footing in the doorway. Thunder cracked angrily outside. "YOU WILL NOT STOP ME!"

"He's a creature!" The girl bared the doorway with her fists, though she now shook with fear, "I cannot let you kill him."

"The uproar he has caused and you call him a creature!" I nearly shove straight through her, "Where are the others?!?"

"CALE?" I heard Evelyn behind me.

"What are you doing here?" I snapped at her, "Does your father know where you are?"

"Cale I'm helping save the Griffon, so is Amethyst and Joy Rose. You should too."

"Where are they?" I muttered.

"Who?" She lowered my rapier with her already bruised hand.

"Amethyst and Joyce Rise," I rolled my eyes angrily.

"Joy Rose," She chided

"Yes, yes, Joyous Rift," I sheath my weapon.

"They're at the castle," Evelyn nervously stepped past me into the gate house, "That poor Griffon set everything in a tizzy."

"Then why are you here?" I raised an eyebrow, "Shouldn't you be at the castle?"

"I'm staying here with Leo," She crossed her arms, "It's my decision."

"Fine," I leered furiosly at her and Hawk-girl, "I'm going back to the castle to tell all the guards that the demon bird is being cared for by two mad girls."

---------------------------

After returning to the castle, I found nearly everyone outside. Out of the corner of my eye I saw Amethyst and Joyce Rise staring up a stone wall.

"AMETHYST! JOYCE RISE!" I screamed across the courtyard to them.

"Ecnelis," I say sharply to Cale, striding to stand in frot of him. He magically falls silent for a moment.

"Cale," I hiss, "you are making a fool of yourself. The North is known for its intelligence. You are behaving-"

"Silence, witch. You are my subject-" he begins.

My eyes turn to slits. Thunder rolls across the sky. I flick my hand and the rain freezes in place before evaporating.

"I am a druid," I hiss, "I have no king. I only protect your sister because your father begged me to."

He glares bu says nothing. Joy Rose and Amethyst are out of sight.

Evelyn comes walking to us. "Nellethiel?" she asks, "is everythng alright?"

I smile at her. "It's fine, princess. I will go help the griffin again. Cale, stay there."

Wait... Joy Rose and Nellethiel are getting supplies from inside the castle, Evelyn went back to be with the Leo, and Allyson and I are waiting outside my window for the supplies. I'm sorry, I think we all got a little confused as to everyones whereabouts.

Amethyst~

"AMYTHYST! JOY RISE!" I hear a call and see someone sprinting towards me in the moonlight.

"What should we do?" Allyson asks.

"Hide!" I whisper, looking around madly, but there is nowhere to hide and the figure is upon us. I recognize him. Cale! Allyson still looks frightened, but I sign to her that it is all right.

"AMETHYST! JOY RISE!" He cries agian, reaching us.

"Shh! And do you mean Joy Rose?" I say.

"Rose, Rise..." he mutters.

"Who are you?" Allyson asks.

"Prince Cale of the North," he says hurrying his words, "but Amethyst-"

"This is Allyson, Joy Rose, and Nellethiel are getting supplies to heal Leo-" I am also rushing, but I don't know why.

"You will be in trouble if your father catches you out here."

"I know, but listen, Leo is poisoned and-"

"I DON'T CARE ABOUT THE GRIFFIN!" Cale yells.

Allyson and I look at him in shock. Suddenly, I realized he is very right about my father. The familiar feeling of 'Joy Rose, how did I let you pull me into this' settles in. The silence is broken my Joy Rose's voice.

"HERE! CATCH!" She yells from my window, tossing down a bundle of supplies. I snatch it out of the air, and hold it carefully so as not to get mud on it. No one says anything until Joy Rose and Nellethiel reach the ground. Nellethiel takes one look at Cale, and purses her lips. I turn away, towards Joy Rose.

"Why did I agree to this? I have half a mind to climb up that wall right now, take a bath and sleep and pretend that nothing happened!" I hiss. Joy Rose looks down, but I think she is hiding a smile.

"Everything is going wrong!" I cry, with enough drama to give my mother some competition. Still, Joy Rose says nothing. Cale and Nellethiel are standing a little bit off in the shadows, and they appear to be having a heated argument.

"We'd better go back to Leo," Allyson gently removes the bundle from my shaking hands and into her own. Then, Joy Rose speaks.

"The poison is very lethel, without everyone's help he may die tonight," I am already walking before I realize that she said that just to make me come along. Nellethiel and Cale trial behind us.

Sorry I haven't posted for the past few days but I'm a little confused about which people are where and what they're doing.

Evelyn and Millenia are at the gatehouse tending to Leo.

Nellethiel, Amehyst, Joy Rose, Cale, and Allyson are heading to the gatehouse from the castle.

Nellethiel, Joy Rose, Millenia, and Allyson are set upon saving the griiffon Leo.

Amethyst is in a predicament because in a few days she will turn sixteen and be given the Eternity Jewel.

Cale hates the Griffon and nearly just killed it. However, it is becoming apparent he has a bit of a thing for Amethyst (he likes her) and is simply passive on the situation (he'd like to see Leo dead).

I'm at a sleepover at Rose Bud's house, and we're sort of dreamily planning Cale and Amethyst's wedding. SAVING IT FOR FANFICTION MUAHHAHAHAHAHA

Thanks Cloudy Dweller, but just wondering, isn't there someone getting supplies in Amethyst's bedroom, or something like that?

Yes, Nellethiel and Joy Rose are inside getting supplies, while Allyson and Amethyst went outside. Because of my newest post, we are now all going back to the gatehouse, where Leo is.

Millennia~

Allyson brustes into the gatehouse, with a bundle of supplies.  Nellethiel, Amehyst, and Joy Rose follow.  "Great!" l exclaim, accepting a bundle from Allyson. l open it, to examine the contents.

"We need to star-" l notice a movement outside the open door. "It's Cale," Evelyn informs me.

"Prince Cale? Why is he here?"

"l don't know. Don't bother trying to find out. Remember, we have a griffin to save."

l turn my attention to the supplies that the others brought. Everything l need. "Alright now, we need to set the broken bones before the arrow is removed."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We successfully remove the arrow and bandge up the griffin. l am not sure whether he will live or die.
Ever since Leo became unconscious, he has not moved except to heavy slow breathing.  Then lowly, he, shudders and opens his eyes.
Leo~
My world is one of darkness, of nightmares, of pain.
It seems as if l can not escape. For days it seems,
l struggle in darkness, and then, l a see a light to my world.
Allyson~
"C'mon Leo, hang in there, you can do it," I beg in my mindd.
"We've done all we can to help him," I say sadly. "All that's left to do is wait."
"Actually, we can do more than that," says an overly cheerful voice.
We all turn to look at the speaker. It's Eva! In all this craziness we had forgotten about her. I wonder where she was for the past day or so.
"I'm a phoenix, Leo's a griffon. We're both firebirds and I can use magic to make him fully conscious again. It would still take a long time for his wing to heal fully, but it's a start. We have some sort of magical connection because of our fireyness. I know that this will work," comes her excited solution.
Then she uses her magic and Leo fully awakens.
Amethyst~
I do my fair share helping Leo. We set the bones and wrap the arrow wound in bandages, and stand back. No once noticed when I slipped out to see Cale, they were all to busy listening to the pheonix who just flew in. Now I search the shadows in between the white patches of moonlight on the wet grass. It has been hours now, and well into the night. I am still soaked and muddy, and now rather tired. I distinguish Cale's dark form leaning against the gate house.
"Cale?" I ask timidly.
"What?" His voice is not particularly irratable, but not gentle either. I suddenly wonder what he and Nellethiel had been talking about.
"Why don't you come in and help us?" Crickets chirp, frogs croak, and strange beasts prowl across the land, but Cale remains quiet. I lean against the gatehouse a couple feet away from Cale, and slowly slide to the ground. The grass and mud squish underneath my night dress, but I am already drenched and filthy, so I don't care. There are exclamations from inside the cabin. Though anxious to see if Leo is okay, I wait. It is so calm and peaceful out here; the air is cool after the rain, and it drifts against my face. Forgetting about Cale's presence, my eyes begin to close.
Prince Cale~
Subconsciously, I forgot about the blasted griffon in the quiet of the night. Amethyst seemed so affected by it, I couldn't understand.
"Why don't you go enjoy saving your sweet little griffon pet?" Though I tried to hiss like I always do, I could hear the hurt in my voice.
"Cale you could help save Leo too," She responded, "If only you would let go of whatever bitterness you carry."
"I just don't have a clue why you are so attached to a bird lion heathen!" I stepped towards her, "You have so much more to worry about. Don't think I don't know what you are going to inherit in a few days. My father's wanted to have that little piece of bling For years!"
"Oh gosh," Amethyst touched her forehead, "That hasn't even been on my mind. And I certainly didn't expect YOU to be The one bugging me about My personal Inheritance."
"Mhmm," I smirked, "You'd be surprised how often the Kings of the four kingdoms converse, especially our fathers."
"I'll worry about the Eternity Jewel as soon as we're sure Leo will survive," Amethyst assured both herself and I, "Please Cale, just see the poor beast for who it is, and then we can forget about it."
"I abhor the bloody meat brick," I snapped, "But I guess we can laugh about it someday, or you can remember how wrong you were"
Amethyst began to run towards the gatehouse, "I will never regret this, she whispered back to me, never."
I rolled my eyes and charged behind her. The mud had completely ruined my boots.
"Only for you," I barked, "I am NOT doing this for the griffon!"
Amethyst~
Of course I had been thinking about the Eternity Jewel, but I couldn't let Cale know that. What right did he have to bring up my 16 birthday, just another worry to drive me crazy? What right did he have to wake me from a bit of peace in the cool night air to start an argument? At the door of the gatehouse, I hear gasps and exclamations. Running now, I burst through the door.
"What happened? Is Leo okay?" As I race over to Leo, I turn back to see Cale standing in the doorway, making a face (A Draco Malfoy face ;) at me. Haughtily, I flip my hair and turn my back to him. An Evil Stuck-up Scoundrel! My bare feet, caked with mud, form the words with every step, but then I stop. Leo's eyes are open, and the phoenix is flying over him.
Amethyst doesn't really think of you like that. Don't worry, she'll come around :)
