The world of Decepmyth

Everyone knows that there is a fantasy land somewhere out there. Some people translate it as Neverland, or Narnia. Others say that this fantasy land is a part of our world that we are oblivious to. For example, Hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry, or Camp Halfblood and the idea of the greek myths living among us. However you think of this land, there is one thing we can all agree upon: that it is real.

Welcome to Decepmyth; the world of deception and illusion, my translation of this fantasy land. Decepmyth can only be reached by one way, and that is words. Words are the only thing that come close to describing Decepmyth, though it remains indescribable. Perhaps the closest accounts of Decepmyth are described in The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe, as it is a snow covered land with an abundance of darkness, evil and magic, as well as beautiful wonders beyond your imagination. If you dare to journey into this land, I will be your guide, but be warned, I can not tell you if you will come out alive or not. You may discover that there is a much bigger power in Decepmyth than you ever dreamed of, and one of you holds the key to it.

Do you dare to venture into the land of Decepmyth?

Here is day two! Please to not inturpret the goings on in Decepmyth as sorcery or anything implying that "magic is real." These are just ideas from Rose bud's head, and a story of fantasy.

DAY 2

Elizabeth was frozen. When she had seen the girl slumped over the mounds of snow, she nearly fainted. She stood, staring and shivering, until she built up enough courage to bend down by the girl. It was so cold that Elizabeth could see wisps of air spiraling upwards from the pale face of the girl on the ground. Relieved, Elizabeth set about to wake her up. Long blonde hair spreading across snow contrasted with the gleaming white. Elizabeth estimated that if the girl were sitting up, it would fall below her shoulders.

“Please wake up,” Elizabeth murmured, but nothing happened.

“There isn’t anything you can do,” A voice behind the distraught Elizabeth spoke softly. Elizabeth spun quickly, her legs floundering in the snow, to face a boy, not much older than herself, standing directly behind her. Elizabeth was intimidated by the fedora subtly leaning over the boy’s face, but nevertheless, she timidly inquired the figure standing over her what he meant.

“There isn’t anything you can do,” he repeated, “she will wake up of her own accord.”

“Please,” said Elizabeth, never for a second forgetting her manners, “please, could you tell me where I am?” It sounded rather silly as it exited her pale pink lips, but the boy did not laugh or smile. Instead, he explained about Decepmyth, The Illusionist, and the heir; everything that the other adventurers knew, but the boy in the fedora knew much more than he was letting on.

Cloudy Dweller was kicking. Everything since that ominous growl behind her had been a tumultuous frenzy, and now she understood two things. The first of these was that a wolf  of some sort was ferociously clawing at her, his jaws snapping at her nightdress. The second was that she was hanging a few feet above the ground, but could not fly further. As soon as Cloudy heard the wolf, she leaped into the air, but could not escape into that blue-gray realm of sky. This was because there was more than one wolf; four, exactly, and as one snapped and clawed at her, another held Cloudy’s nightgown with its teeth. Cloudy kicked with as much force as she could muster, and her foot landed on a patch of mangey yellow-brown hair between one wolf’s ears. Another kick whammed against the other wolf’s chin, but neither beast would let go. As Cloudy withdrew her foot for another kick, a pair of sharp claws grasped it, and tore at it. Gasping with pain, Cloudy Dweller bravely continued kicking with the other foot. She could feel herself descending slowly, and the two wolves crouched, prepared to pounce on her. Just as they leaped through the air, they both fell back, and lay limply on the snow. Both of Cloudy’s feet hit the ground, and her injured foot slipped from beneath her, unable to hold her weight. A hand from behind supported her as a concerned Rose bud asked

“Are you all right?”

“I am fine, really, but what?-” Cloudy Dweller stopped talking when she saw the wolves on the ground, and a boy with a sword standing over them.

Wren was screaming. She wasn’t scared when Misti started running faster than she had ever seen anyone else run in her life. She wasn’t scared when another girl appeared in front of them and ran with them, but she was scared when she saw the wolves. She was absolutely terrified when one of them leapt towards her. She squeezed her eyes shut and screamed, but stopped as she heard a snarl, a thudding noise, and then a gasp. Opening her eyes, Wren beheld a startled Indigo, and a solid ice statue of a wolf, frozen mid-jump. Indigo was shaking, her hand outstretched towards the wolf, then she fell over backwards. Reacting quickly, Wren caught Indigo and gently lay her on the snow. Indigo’s long, dark, eyelashes fluttered open, and she stared directly at the wolf.

“I did that,” she gasped.

“We really do have powers!” Wren marveled.

“Yes, but I think we need more practice in using them,” Indigo said as Wren helped her to her feet. The two girls surveyed the chaos. Two dead wolves lay at a boy’s feet, and another one was chasing a boy and a girl who looked enough alike to be twins. No... it wasn’t a boy and a girl, it was a tiger and a girl! Wren was sure the tiger had just been a boy, were her eyes playing tricks on her? The tiger faced the wolf, and they began to fight; lashing at each other with their claws. Suddenly, the tiger wasn’t a tiger, but a snake! Before the wolf had time to react, it was bitten. The wolf continued to lunge at the girl, but she dodged it. Finally, it slowly fell to the ground. Cheers erupted throughout the group of adventurers, as dusk rode the sky like a midnight-black horse. Wren unidentified Misti, Shifting Sands, and the girl who began running with them earlier. Everyone stood uncertainly for a moment, then they began gathering away from the vanquished wolves.

Danie was shocked. Her brother had just turned into a tiger, and then to a snake, not to mention that he killed a wolf. Rose bud was right. Something about Decepmyth was changing them slightly; making them magical. During the confused fight, several other people had joined them. One was a boy with a sword who introduced himself as Pete The Trollslayer, and the others were girls who had run from the east. They introduced themselves as Misti, Indigo, and Shifting Sands. A girl with bright blonde hair and glimmering, alert black eyes declared herself Somebody. Indigo explained how they had arrived, and about some person in a cloak informing her that she could possibly be the heir to Decepmyth. That person later said he had made a mistake, and then disappeared. Pied Piper told the newcomers about their little knowledge of Decepmyth, and everyone decided they needed a place of shelter. Danie spoke up, remembering the cave in which Squeak and herself had flown from on Shadow Dragon. Shadow agreed to fly people to this cavern, and soon trips were being made back and forth between the small mountain and the group of adventurers. Three people were the last in line for transportation-by-dragon to the cave. All of them were somebody, but one of them was Somebody, and another was the soon to be evil successor of Queen Magenta. Neither were paying much attention to the third person, who’s identity was, at that moment, a mystery. Lets call the evil successor of Queen Magenta ESQM for short, shall we? ESQM slipped away while Somebody and somebody (our unidentified person) were watching the disappearing form of Shadow Dragon, bearing Baelfire, Pied Piper and Shifting Sands. The destination of ESQM was once the castle of Queen Magenta, and it was quite nearby. Shielded by magic, it stood invisible to anyone other than ESQM. Magenta’s key was quite easy for ESQM to find, and he/she quickly tried to figure out its power. ESQM was taken over by the key’s magic as soon as it was laid in his/her cold, red palm and as soon as he/she exited the castle, ESQM began eliminating possible heirs. Somebody screamed as the person beside her, whom she just noticed was Rose bud, yelled in agony, but was quickly cut off as she no longer had a mouth. Instead, a rose grew where she had been standing, a shard of ice frozen on one petal as if a tear.

“She is still very much alive. She now lives as a rose and cannot be human again. As long as the rose lives, her soul will live,” Somebody turned towards ESQM, a rage flaring inside her.

“How could you?!” She yelled, but her fire was met by a cool river from the key, washing away the memory of ESQM’S identity.
