The world of

The world of Decepmyth

Everyone knows that there is a fantasy land somewhere out there. Some people translate it as Neverland, or Narnia. Others say that this fantasy land is a part of our world that we are oblivious to. For example, Hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry, or Camp Halfblood and the idea of the greek myths living among us. However you think of this land, there is one thing we can all agree upon: that it is real.

Welcome to Decepmyth; the world of deception and illusion, my translation of this fantasy land. Decepmyth can only be reached by one way, and that is words. Words are the only thing that come close to describing Decepmyth, though it remains indescribable. Perhaps the closest accounts of Decepmyth are described in The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe, as it is a snow covered land with an abundance of darkness, evil and magic, as well as beautiful wonders beyond your imagination. If you dare to journey into this land, I will be your guide, but be warned, I can not tell you if you will come out alive or not. You may discover that there is a much bigger power in Decepmyth than you ever dreamed of, and one of you holds the key to it.

Do you dare to venture into the land of Decepmyth?

Day 4
John F. Q. was thinking. His raven had told him the others were in the cave of his father before it flew to his mother. Poe, his raven, had not specified how many of them were still alive. The heir needed to be found fast, and he was the person to do it. If it wasn’t himself. Under the brim of his ever-present fedora, he wished he were the true heir to Decepmyth. It would make sense of course, owing to his parent’s identity, but it could be one of them. The children from that other world; Reality.  The children following him, trusting that he had just shown up an hour our so ago like they had.
“There is a cave in that mountain,” John pointed, “where we can spend the night.”
Will looked slightly uncertain of his leadership, but Elizabeth’s eyes were trusting. He tried to give her a reassuring smile, but his face remained serious; as did his thoughts. John looked up at the daunting mountain, and his eyes locked on the mouth of the cave; an ominous, shadowy hole.
“Will,” he said whirling, his cape fluttering in the cold air, “could you ask Curio to fly us up there?” He gestured towards the cave.
“Talk to the dragon?” Will asked with subtle incredulousness. John nodded, and Will walked over to Curio.
“Uh, hey, Curio?” She turned away, uninterested. Will looked helplessly at John.
“Try again,” John said.
“Shaszar, åter Shazik ´tunor, Curious Dragon ´så,” Will spoke softly to Curio. Everyone except John’s eyes widened with amazement.
“How did you speak to her like that?” Kate asked in awe.
“Like what?” Will questioned, “I just asked her to fly us up to that cave.”
“You spoke in dragon!” Elizabeth exclaimed.
“Whoa. Really?”
“Yes, and I am not surprised as I might have been an hour or so ago!” Kate laughed merrily, “I’m begining to think that anything can happen here.”
“Climb aboard!” Will exclaimed, swinging clumsily onto Curio’s back, then sliding forward; leaning onto her neck excitedly. Kate followed, somehow managing to spring into the air and alight on Curio’s emerald-green scaly skin. It was the boots, of course. With a toss of her startlingly blonde hair, Brookeira mounted as well. Curio spread her wings as if to say “enough people,” and impatiently pawed the ground, while curiously nosing John F. Q.’s cape, gently swishing behind him as he faced the mountain. Curio’s great wings beat against the chill air, and her feet slushed in the snow.
“Go on, Will, Elizabeth and I will join you shortly,” John said. Looking at his black attire, Elizabeth suddenly got an ominous feeling.
“åter, Curio; fly,” Will commanded gently, and Curio began running through the snow, flapping her wings wildly. It was strangely beautiful to the watching Elizabeth.
“You know more about Decepmyth than you are letting on,” Elizabeth said breathlessly, turning accusingly towards John once Curio and her passengers were out of earshot in the grey sky.
Booksy Owly was feeling guilty. Of course she hadn’t started the snow fight, it was Masked Piester and Volcano. She hadn’t had anything whatsoever to do with the snow fight... well, maybe she had thrown that snowball at Pied Piper, who, with a quick note from her flute, somehow directed the whirling ball of snow away from her face. Since she had nothing to do with the snow-battle, she had not inadvertently caused Somebody to freeze... had she?
“No! It was my fault! I started the whole thing!” She lamented.
“I take full credit!” Ace demanded.
“I threw the first snowball!” Booksy cried.
“I did! I threw it at Pete the Trollslayer’s face!” Ace argued.
“My fault,” Booksy Owly moaned.
“Mine!” Ace insisted.
“If you are gonna fight over a snowball fight all night, we will never get to sleep! Sheesh!” Shifting Sands muttered.
“But it was my-” Booksy began.
“If you must know, I threw the first snowball. It hit Maple in the face, and instantly turned into a wad of maple syrup for some reason, now STOP ARGUING!” Shifting yelled, adjusting the jacket beneath her head.
“Who’s yelling? Go back to sleep!” Danie commanded from another corner of the cave.
“Ace is yelling!” Shifting Sands screamed.
“Not! That was you!” Ace retorted.
“You!”
“Not!”
“You!”
“Not!”
“Y-”
“WILL YOU BE QUIET ALREADY I AM TRYING TO SLEEP!” Silvery Ink called from near the entrance to the cavern. For a few seconds there was silence... then:
“Danie?” Squeak whispered.
“What?” Danie murmured sleepily.
“Knock knock!” Squeak whispered back.
“If you think I am going to say who’s there, you are crazy!” Danie whispered, a little louder.
“Who’s whispering?” Misti asked, annoyed.
“Ace is!” Shifting declared. Booksy Owly stared at the solid-ice statue standing next to her, shivering. Somebody’s mischief-full, startling, light green-grey eyes looked like tiny peridot jewels beneath the layer of perfectly smooth ice.
“My fault,” she murmured again.
“No, it was my fault,” Indigo’s voice came out of the cave’s blackness. Booksy Owly crawled over to her. Indigo was leaning against the dusty, ice-frozen rock, her knees against her chest, her face strangely placid. Shadows flickered across her figure. Indigo was shivering slightly from the chilly wind swishing about the cave.
“Masked Piester and Volcano were just playing around, and someone pushed me, and I accidentally froze Somebody! Then when we all decided it was time to sleep, I just couldn’t,” Indigo explained.
“We’ll find a way to melt Somebody, and find Rose bud,” Booksy Owly said comfortingly.   Yes, the issue of no Rose bud was worrying Cloudy Dweller, and everyone else besides, except Shifting Sands. Booksy edged away from Indigo, and spread her beautiful, chocolate brown, feathery wings as a pillow behind her head. If the cave wasn’t so dim, and you looked really closely, you could have made out a design in the feathers that was something like a book. Booksy slowly drifted off to sleep, which came to her impossibly easily due to her uncomfortable position and the coldness all around; but Decepmyth is a magical place, after all. Indigo, however, could not sleep. She had just frozen a living, breathing person. How could she sleep?
“I did that,” she murmured. Shifting Sands must have heard her, because she promptly yelled:
“Ace did it!” Ace, being asleep, did not retort. Someone else heard Indigo too. That person sprang out of the shadows and spoke in an extremely soft, cold voice.
“No, I did it, but you will never tell the tale.”
When everyone woke abruptly a few minutes later because of the arrival of a bright green, extremely curious dragon, there was a large, indigo-colored diamond on the floor of the cave.
Let's blame it all on Ace, Shifting Sands, shall we?

Reading through what I write, I usually have a lot of comments, explanations, etc. that I usually do not post. Today, I am bored, and I will make an exception.

Elizabeth trusts John because he seems to know more about Decepmyth. She is not suspicous of him, like Will is.

Who claims the Indigo-colored diamond? I'll leave that up to you. I am guessing Shifting Sands... Someone should claim it though. I mean... there is a lifetime of riches there for you, what would you do? Start a fight? Say: "I call it!" Or maybe give it to someone else, or be cautious because you never know what might happen if you touch it...
