Whatever happened to the fantastical creatures that you hear 'bout in stories??  The phoenix, the unicorn dragons, you know those creatures.  Do you think people created them or were they once real and hunted to exctinction??  I happen to think that though many are gone, they are in hiding, moving to wherever people believe in them the most.  if you've read The Lighting Theif that's kinda what I mean.  That's where my screen name came from.  Wishing and wondering about the magical Phoenix.  I really wish that these creatures were not all fantasy, they would bring some needed interesting times to our boring world.  But then again, scientists would use them for experiments, they would be put on the Endangered Species list and the magic would go out of them.  Maybe it's just as well that these creatures are surrounded by an air of mystery and magic.

Good thought, but for me it all goes back to the Smeyer controversy: nice to believe in ghosts and flying horses and zombies and stuff, for fun and Halloween, but when we start really believing in them we lose track of what's real and get pulled into a subworld where we can't appreciate anything for what it is.

I think we all know they're not real, deep in our heart of hearts, but we like to believe in them because they offer solace or something. Psychology. Shrinks. *shakes head* Something like that.

No offense, Phoenix, I get what you mean, though.

What's wrong with fantasy subworlds??? I LIKE those. *looks hurt*

And by the way, our World is NOT, NOT, N-O-T NOT boring. I get really worked up when people use the word "boring" or "bored" or "boredom." I haven't gotten the concept since I was like 8! I haven't claimed to be bored for three years! Not meant harshly, but anybody who's constantly "bored" should get up and get a life; chances are they're bored because they're not doing anything for themselves.

*smiles sweetly* Those are my thoughts.

I'm not sure you really want to know what goes on in my head. Besides, I let all my thoughts out on Kake :D

I think that was me, Koffee. Sorry. Though true, knowing what goes on in your head might be dangerous to all of our sanity... ;) just joking. :)

No, what you're saying is completely logical! I mean, my thoughts have driven me insane, so when exposed to them, they can drive others insane! You do get used to it after a while, but it kind of freaks me out when I start naming and having conversations with the voices inside of my head :D

*Voice inside head (named Wren) says: Koffee, you told me that you wouldn't talk to these people anymore. I told you that it's not the same now that  you've made friends with them.*

*Me: Well I like to talk to these people. I already had tea with you last week. Plus, I'm going to your birthday party tomorrow.*

*Another voice (named Raylie) says: Yeah, gosh, Wren. You ruin everyone's fun. Koffee's already hanging out with you all the time, but she totally ditches the rest of us! I mean, Marlie, Fey, Annalei and I haven't talked to her in ages! You ruin all the fun, you friend stealer!*

*Me: Awww! I feel so bad now! It's so hard to fit all of you in! You should help me with my homework, that way we can spend more time together!*

*Fey: Yeah right, you just want your homework done for you.*

*Annalei: Urrgghh! I can't stand you!*

*Marlie: Gosh, come on you guys, we aren't speaking to Koffee anymore.*

*Wren: Done*

*Raylie: Done*

*Fey: Done*

*Annalei: And done*

Sigh...it's the worst when they gang up on you....Cry

My thoughts, at least on the fantastical-creatures idea, are that there are only two possibilities. Either they're real (or were at one time), or they're not. If they're not, then where did the idea of them come from? Dragons in particular crop up in mythology from just about everywhere. The scientific people say, yes, but where's the evidence, and come up with various explanations.

I think that it's certainly possible that they do or did exist, at least some of them. For one thing, the world's a big place! For another, they are all supposed to be magical creatures. What if they all share the magic ability to make people not see them (i.e. turn invisible) or forget about them as soon as they've seen them, or make themselves look like something else (like, a unicorn would look like a deer or a horse, or a phoenix would look like a different kind of bird)? I know, it sounds way-the-heck out there, but anything's possible :) Another possibility is that they are also sentient and intelligent, and decided to get out of our way because they didn't want anything to do with humans. Or yes, they could have been real and then died out.

Those are my thoughts...

My thoughts on fantastical creatures in general are that they could very well be, or have been, real. My brother recently got Blue Planet for his birthday. It's about the deep and mysterious underwater kingdom. Seeing all the things that live down there, it's hard not to belive in dragons and griffins and all other awsome supposedly mythical creatures. I know  that a lot of the fish have evolved so they could be better suited to their environment, but that could be said for the mythical creatures too. What if..there weren't enough phoenix's in the world to mate, so they learned how to burst into flame and make a baby bird out of the ashes! It could happen, right? *grins hopefully*

My thoughts are why is there so much fighting?  The world would be such a better place if there was no divorce and no cliques or anything.  If only people would accept everyone.  *sighs and shakes head sadly* But I know that won't happen.

We worry so much about who we're going to talk to and what we're going to wear.  Why can't everyone just except us for who we are and not for who they want us to be?  Why must friendships be lost over stupid things like that?

Nobody knows the answer to these mysterious questions, and I know that.  It's just that if kids like me want to make a difference we could actually do that.  We could stop the divorces, stop the fighting, stop the stupid and snide remarks!  It frustrates me so much to see everyone like this.

Don't get me wrong.  I have friends like that, but they don't make fun of people for what they wear.  They don't make fun of handicapped people.  Nobody should.  But people do.  That is a main reason to the fights.

Sorry to go rambling on and on about this, but I do believe that we should put our acts together and make the world a better place.  Those are my thoughts.  *lets out frustrated sigh* not the best thoughts ever.

@ mythical creatures people: Not to be a cynical downer like Wren (Koffee, you crack me up! :) ), but I don't believe in magic. I believe in God.

@ Lena: Don't get me wrong, I completely agree with you about the divorces (except in some serious situations, don't you think?)- I mean, some people know absolutely NOTHING about the person they're marrying or engaged to. Irresponsibility. But regarding the friendship things- naturally I agree with you for the most part, but you said that friendships are being lost over such issues. No. These relationships weren't those of friends if they can be lost so easily. Of course it hurts to lose someone you thought was your friend, but you should also take the experience and learn from it. Failed so-called friendships can prepare you all the better for real ones, as with almost everything.
