Er . . . sorry, GloWorm! I already made a post for us! TNO, should we use this one or the other one?

The other one, I should think. It's got ideas already.

And this one... *shudders* romance.

Oh sorry TNO, I might need to check my files again. xD I get confused sometimes.

---

And BellaTrix, this is the official post for you. I don't mean to be bossy, but since TAPM is my program, can you please use this one?

------------

:) Okay, sorry about this mix-up with romance. =D To make up for the time loss by my foolish mistake, I'll let you decide what you want to write about.

Oh. *phew* Science Fiction? P*ease?

But we already have planning on the other thread! Oh, well...

Okay . . . why don't we use the other thread to plan, and this one to actually write it? It would be less messy like that. :)

So we'll migrate here when we figure out what we're going to do? Sounds good.

Yes. Shall I start?

I can start nao?*******Journal of Zak Creighton, digitally recorded.Earthdate March 6, 2212. Day 2695.Day passed uneventfully as always. I'm dreadfully sick of this space food. Hope we arrive at new planet soon.Maybe it would have been better to wait until Aonea was colonized. Hibernation chambers would have made this voyage a lot less agonizingly slow. Oh, well. We'll be there soon, if the captain's report is anything to go by.[sigh]I hope it's green there. I miss the color green.Oh, the captain's light is blinking...~We arrive at Aonea in two days, but apparently there's a problem. The latest scans have picked up signs of biological life and technology, and the aliens are attempting to send us a message. It's in a strange code though, and certainly not in English. I do hope they're a peaceful lot.

((You like the name Creighton, don't you, TNO?  *smirk*  Anyway, tell me if you like the way it continues, or if it's too long and we should go directly to Alien.  Just tell me what you think.))

I switch off the recorder with a sigh.  I don't feel like making a long entry.  I feel slightly sick, to be perfectly honest, and my stomach twists nervously at the thought of what would happen on Aonea.  This is my first trip to space, anyway.  No, that isn't true.  I had gone in a space elevator with my father once, but that was so long ago I can barely remember.  I can't help but think about what they'll have me do on Aonea: they wouldn't tell me.  They just said I had been given a special job, since I had done so well on the tests.  The idea of walking blindly into an Spacesearcher with no idea of what was in store for me was not appealing, however, and I tried to get them to tell me what my "special job" was.  I even threatened to quit the Spaceteam, and then they would have nobody to do their "special job."  But they just laughed and said that I would be fine, not to worry, and that anyway I couldn't just quit: by the time all the papers were approved, the craft would be halfway to Aonea already.
"Lieutenant, report to the Captain immediately."
I turn to see Cassandra standing behind me.  She looks formidable.
"Good evening to you too, Moran," I say lazily.
"Lieutenant, report to--"
"I'm going, I'm going."
I wonder as I walk down the corridors to the Captain's Quarters what she wants with me.  Is she displeased with me?  Perhaps I've been giving the officers too much cheek lately.  Or maybe--
My heartbeat quickens.  Perhaps she's going to tell me what my "special job" is.
I arrive at the door to the Captain's Quarters.  It slides open before I can do an iris scan.

((Okay, this is FUN!  You'd better take over from here because I'll take over the whole darn thing!  Well, anyway, shall we leave it here and change to Alien View or continue for a bit?  Or do you want to restart?))

((Why, yes. Yes I do. XD. Also I was thinking we could write the whole story in letters/journal entries but if you don't want to I'm down with that, too. For now I'm going to write a letter, and we can change it later if you want, after we finish the story. ONWARDS!))

Jeknj Vradaeatx,

As always a pleasure to hear from you and to know that you are well. Everingiss sends her regards.

Now, this business of the alien ship. Of course we shall have to attempt a peaceable negotiation, and hope to Kril'ach that they are a reasonable species. You will be in charge of this, of course. If they prove benevolent we can easily lend them land on the other side of the Cltris mountains, or give them the deeds to our sister planet.

On the other hand if they are a warring race you and your squad are authorized to utilize our nation's supply of nuclear missiles in order to stop them.

For the present continue monitoring the ship and keep me updated on its progress.

Yours,

Zilyg, Lord of the mortal realm of Kril'ach (etc. etc.)

((*deep breath* Here goes nothing!))

Most Honorable Lord Zilyg,
The alien ship has been seen to intrude upon the territory of Riflinn.  All due precautions have been put in place to maintain security. An attack is ready, but the aliens appear harmless.  Strangely, they seem uninterested in acquiring land, and have been trying to establish contact with us for a while now.  Their crafts have been analyzed for weapons, but they seemingly possess none.  Though primitive they may be, their actions are undoubtedly peaceful.  My only fear is the harm they may induce--unintentionally.
Shall further inquiries of the ship be made before establishing contact, My Lord?  Or shalt we be simply cautious?
Humbly Yours,
Jeknij Vradaeatx

((FYI, I was thinking that Jeknij would be a term of respect, like "sir".))

Jeknij Vradaeatx,

If the aliens seem harmless and willing to communicate, by all means give it your best shot. Take the most diplomatic course available and offer them land, gifts, that sort of thing, will you?

Also, try to find out if they are the race behind those ridiculous messages we've been receiving for so many years.

And there is no need to use such formal language, old friend. Familiarity is always welcome after a long day of thees and thous.

Anyway, after this business with the alien ship is wrapped up, you and your family must come for dinner. Everingiss has been after me to throw a dinner party for several tendays.

Yours,

Zilyg, Lord etc. etc.
