Victorian Gala Roleplay!

Victorian Gala Roleplay!

A gala is being hosted at the palace. Multiple people will be there, dukes, dutchesses, nobles, entertainers, even the servants who watch with envious eyes as they serve the eleborately dressed guests. Dancers, musicians, singers, all invited to the gala. The king hosted the gala on behalf of his son, Frances, who requested it. He requested it for a much darker reason then to make friends, as he told his father. In a month, the gala will take place. In the gala, will be special people, who most likely don't even realize just how special they are, and the cunning prince has them all in one place. Each person, has a little bit of magic, the magic lost in the medieval times. The prince strives to retrieve the magic, by certain rituals, from these 'special' people.

The magic is minor, shrinked down after being passed from grandchild to grandchild. One with fire could only enlarge or shrink the fire and heat it up. One with water could move liquid across flat surfaces. One with wind could control the wind to a small extent. Some even have speed, hyped senses, or the ability to remain in the shadows, hidden. They may seem minor, but if the prince gets his hand on the magic bearers, who knows what he could do with that power?

Okay! If you join this roleplay, i want you to be dedicated! Don't let it die!! Also, try to write more then a couple paragraphs when you do post. If you don't have time, thats fine, just say so. This also will be slow moving, as NaNoWriMo is going on. Do not feel rushed to post, take your time when writing chapters and all.

Please, no overpowered magic! It is minor! Most people who have it don't know about it, a certain few do.

Alright, here is the charrie form!

Name:

Age: (at least 16-18)

Magic: (MINOR)

Occupation: (Duke, entertainer [dancer, musician], noble, servant, ect...)

Appearance:

Personality:

Other:

Alright, also, let's have some boys! Two charries each, one should be a boy. Doesn't have to, but it would be nice. Also, if you have two charries, only one can have element magic, the other has to have the super-power-type-thing.

Here are my charries!

Name: Courtney Bloom

Age: 17

Magic: Speed. It is only slight, but allows her to move impossibly fast and gracefully.

Occupation: Entertainer; Dancer. Why she has speed.

Appearance: She has long, brown hair and big eyes that match the rich, chocolaty color. She's tall and slender, muscular after her years of dancing, even though she looks delicate. She has an impossibly straight nose, different then her soft features, and delicate, but high, cheekbones.

Personality: Stubborn and determined. She will turn one direction and won't stop walking that way until someone convinces her otherwise, which is a rare thing. She is a talkable girl, something looked down upon in this era, and very outgoing. She's adventurous and is always looking for a little mischeif!

Other: Her mom was a dancer. And she is a common folk, but her dancing skills gain her a bit of money, and she uses it wisely.

Name: Alaxandre Taime

Age: 18

Magic: Earth. He can basically telepathically move a bit of dirt of pebbles, and can has a way with herbs.

Occupation: Kitchen servant. His power helps with the cooking!

Appearance: He has a large forehead, placed above his shining green eyes and broad grin. His knotty black hair hangs down to his chin. He has a dark tan complexion, matching his tall figure. He never worked anywhere else but the kitchen, so his arms and legs are only strong from constant walking and stirring of stew.

Other: He knows about his power.

So there you have it! Someone else can have earth magic too, but vary it a little. Like, make it the ability to bloom flowers? Something cool like that XD.

Begin!

Courtney~

I sit down in a chair, grabbing my glass of water and taking a drink. One more day until the gala. I need to work on my dance more. I almost have it perfected, except for a couple places that I haven't coreographed yet. "Umm...hello." I look up, startled, as girl that looks to be about my age approaches. She has vivid blue eyes and fiery red hair. She is slightly taller then me, and her smile is kind and welcoming.

I smile and sit up, leaning against the back of my chair. "Good day."

"Good day," she responds, glancing at a chair. "May I take a seat?" I nod and she sits next to me. "I'm Brionna. First chair cellist."

"Oh yes!" I exclaim, clapping my hands. "You are leading the orchestra, no? Did you choose the music?"

She nods. "With some help from the conductor."

"I love it," I smile. "And the song I chose to dance to, you all make it sound atonishing!"

She smiles and bobs her head. "Yes. Thank you. I just wanted to coment on your dancing. It looks like you put a lot of effort into it. I love the beginning, you look like a doll."

I smile, "Thank you. That is what I was going for. I appretiate you playing for me. Dancing without music isn't fun! Not at all!"

She smiles again, "Thank's again.  How old are you?"

"I'm 17. And by the way, I'm Courtney." I say, taking another drink of my water.

She smiles, holding out her hand. "I'm 16. Nice to meet you."

I giggle and shake her hand. "Hi 16, nice to meet you to."

She stares at me for a moment when suddenly her face lights with laughter and she throws back her head, letting a laugh ring out. I join in, my laugh blending and mixing with her's over the noise of the entertainers. I take another drink of my water and try not to laugh in the middle of it. "Do you want to eat in my room?" I ask. "You could bring your cello, that would be fun."

Katy, I love the idea of Brionna and Courtney being friends! One amendment: I changed Brionna's hair color to dark brown.

Yeri ~ It's the day before the ball, and everything is dazzling. I wander around the castle, marveling at all of its finery. It's so much prettier then at our house. I accidentally bump into another girl. "Oh! I'm so sorry!" I exclaim. "Oh!" She exclaims, turning her head as if to search for an escape. Her golden hair is pretty. When she looks back at me, her eyes startle me. Icy blue. As if they are almost made of ice. It matches her hair. "I'm Yeriyina Jasía," I say, curtsying slightly. "My name is Paris Montfort," she says, pursing her lips together. She glances around her again. "Are you here for the ball?" I ask, although as soon as the words burst out of my mouth, I know it's a silly question. "Erm, sort of," she says uncomfortably. "I'm so glad to have met you. I haven't seen another girl my age who is noble," I say excitedly. "Oh?" she asks, frowning. "How did you know that I was off noble rank?" she asks, looking surprised. "You're dressed like a noblewoman," I say incredulously. "Oh," she says, looking relieved. Another girl starts walking towards us. "Hello," she says shyly, looking around for an escape like Paris. "Hello," I say, smiling. "Now isn't this my lucky day," I say. Paris frowns again. "Oh, I'm forgetting my manners! I'm Yeriyina Jasía," I say pleasantly, while curtsying slightly. "But you can call me Yeri," I add. "I'm Paris Montfort," Paris mumbles, curtsying slightly, and then looking around again. "I'm Henrietta Ashdown," Henrietta says shyly. "I'm so glad to have found you girls," I say, beaming at them. "Oh, so am I!" Henrietta pipes up happily. Note things are finally going well.

Sparks~

"Sorry." l mutter, dodging past a maid carrying a platter. There's something, something that l can't quite pin down. A buzzing noise in the air, faint but still there. It could be nothing, there is all sorts of noise around here, and yet again it could be anything.

It turns into a ticking sound as l round into the hall, and l pick up my pace. Ticking, endless ticking, forever ticking on. Drawing me on. Faster, run faster. Find it. The walls rush by, blending togather. Almost there. And then l run into someone. Because when your eyes are on the sky, you're bound to trip over something on the ground.

The girl gives a small scream, crashing into the wall. l trip over my own feet ad land on the ground, very hard.

For a few moments l lay there, not moving, blinking and wondering what it was that just happened. And then l twist around and push myself bac onto my feet.

"Er, terribly sorry, Madame, it was a mistake utterly mine own-" l reach up a hand and touch the side of my head. Blood. Quite a bit of it, too.

Can Brionna be 19?

Dang it, I had so much will for this thing.

~Brionna~

Courtney is an excellent dancer, keeping rhythm perfectly, and we are having the best time. Suddenly I glance at the clock, halting my playing. I gasp. "Sorry, Courtney, but I'd best be on my way," I apologise quickly. "Rehearsal." She nods knowingly. I pack up my instrument and speedwalk to the ballroom. The orchestra is waiting. I take my place at the first tier, and the conductor lifts his baton. I set the bow to the strings and begin to play, the sweet notes of my cello resonating with the bass, viola, violin, and percussion. I close my eyes, having memorised the repertoire, the songs playing in my head. We make no mistakes, and one hour exactly later, it is finished. I loosen my bow and pack up for the second time. I drop my cello off in the instrument storage area to pick up when I leave the castle. I explore the castle. Suddenly a man that looks seven years older than me rushes by. He's looking at something on the ceiling I think. Not noticing me, he trips over me. I scream slightly, quietly, as he hits the floor. I kneel down to check if he's okay. Naturally, he's not. His head is bleeding, probably from a concussion. I tear off a strip of my petticoat and use it as a bandage for his injury. He moans slightly, a sheen of sweat on his forehead. He touches the wound lightly and winces. The bandage staunches the blood for now, but I'm not sure if it will hold. I try to pull him up, but he's too heavy. With much determination, I am able to get him standing. He is unsteady from loss of blood, but is able to walk. He leans heavily on me, but takes a step forward. I murmur encouragingly and slowly get him to the infirmary.

Hallia says ggbb.

Paris ~

It feels nice to meet nobles that don't know me as the daughter of the King and Queen.  We chat a bit, about what we think the gala will be like, and what type of people will be there. They even asked me if I wanted to stick around with them during the gala. I fee so happy and light, like feather. And then I realize I'm floating a foot off the ground. Teri and Henrietta stare at me as I quickly land. I feel my face drain of all color.

"You have magic?" they ask me in unison.

"Yes," I whisper, afraid that they will think of me as a freak. But the outcome was something I didn't expect.

"No way! Me too!" they whisper, again in unison.

I too stare back at them. Finally, I know I'm not alone.
