Every single day,

Chatterbox: Inkwell

Every single day,

Every single day, humans neglect the enviorment we live in.  We don't recycle, throw trash on the ground, and emit harmful gases from our cars and buildings.  We never seem to realize the health of the earth is slowly dwindiling, until...

Scientists have recorded an estimate of approximately how long life will be able to survive on Earth with our current emissions.  To our dismay, the resutls are not good.  To solve this problem, the whole world has come together.  They assemble a group of top scientists, astronomers, etc. for one purpose only-to find and go to a planet that can support human life.

After many days and nights of hard work and sacrifice, we've found our planet.  Yes, you heard me right!  I did say we, because you and I are a part of this team too.

************

From reading above, you can see that this is a space, high-adventure RP!  On the team (which doesn't have a name yet.  Any ideas would be appreciated, maybe Mission, and then something?) each person has a job that has to do with travelling to space.  Here are your job choices:

Scientists: Everyone basically knows what a scientist does...They know all sorts of space/gravity facts, and have already formulated some ideas on what aliens could look like.  Scientists are trying to create ways to transport items/people from our chosen planet, to Earth as fast as they can  They are inventing other inventions, and they take a lot of notes /pictures about the enviorment.

Astronomers: Astronomers know all about space.  You've been to the moon already, and you're are also good at calming people down who are nervous.  The one thing that stands out is experience...no one else has that, and of course it is very inportant to the success of the mission

Doctors: Well...someone needs to keep you healthy while your in space! And also, doctors know all about bacteria in space, and know how to take care of sickness/bites/etc

Communication Experts:  For talking with aliens, or other creatures.  Communication experts know many languages, and would try to comprehend an alien language by comparing them to previous languages.  Without this job, we wouldn't communicate/deeply know/share information with any species.

Engineers: They're basically builders, who think in creative and new ways.  They would most likely make buildings, new creative forms of energy.  They could even create food and drinks for our team to eat!  Engineers would also know how to fix the spaceship....just in case anything happens

And...even more!  If you have a job that you'd like to do, but isn't up there, just ask!  However, the job has to have something to do with new planets and space, and only up to 3 people can do a certain job.  You can create as many charries as you want.  I will say the start date as soon as people start joining.  If there's anything I'm forgetting, just ask. Here's the charrie sheet:

My Charrie:

Name: Alice Kyline

Age: 24

Gender: Woman

Job You Picked: Doctor

Appearence: Her very blond hair is in a short bob style.  A wisp of hair always seems to untuck itself from her ear, no matter how many times she neatens her hair.  She has pale skin, with blue eyes, and her hair is straight.  She's tall, and she wears a blue spacesuit, which is almost the same color as her eyes, and some sneakers.

Personality: She's very selfless, hardworking, and determined.  She's well aware of the consequences and dangers, but she's brave enough to want to do it anyway.  She's intelligent and kind.  She likes to think out things, before she starts to do any actions.  Is a valuable, contributing member of the team

Background: When she was younger, Alice and her two other siblings and parents often didn't have much money.  Alice worked hard in school, and at the job. Soon, she graduated from college, and went on to be a well-known doctor.  She  lives all alone in her little apartment.  She is sometimes lonely because of it.

Open to Shipping: Yes!!  I want her shipped!

Other: Nothing I can think of, at least right now.

I think this RP will be very fun!  Join!

(May 14, 2017 - 9:26 am)

Name: Lena Moss

Age (22-30): 22

Gender: Female

Job You Picked: Coder, so she writes the code for exploration robots, and for landing and takeoff and flight of space shuttles

Appearence: 5'5", so slightly above average height, long, wavy, dark brown hair that hangs over her face, pale skin from being inside too much, wears dark blue and purple tshirts/hoodies, and jeans, with black combat boots. She has striking deep blue eyes that catch the attention over people around her, and almost are hypnotizing

Personality: Quiet, calm, clever, she knows the answer to almost any question you could think of, if you asked her, and she is very witty. People don't talk to her much, and she likes it that way, so I guess she is a bit antisocial. She constantly analyzes people, so much that she can often predict what they're likely to do next

Background: Born in rural Wales, she grew up on her parent's farm, and always did really well in school. She went to college to major in engineering, but then discovered how much she loved to code, so she majored in that instead.

Open to Shipping?: I guess?

Other: Team name: Savior Pioneer, 'cause they're saving humanity, and pioneering to a new planet.

(May 14, 2017 - 6:01 pm)

Name: AERA-D4200:79 (called Aera)

Age: 9, technically, although this is somewhat irrelevant

Gender: Prefers female, but has been programmed not to get mad if called "he" or "it"

Job: As the team's AI, she's a little bit of everything. She can provide background knowledge on any of the above topics and even suggest solutions sometimes, but she leaves the actual designing, operating, communicating, etc. to her human colleagues.

Appearance: When she appears, a completely nondescript Japanese woman on a screen. Usually only her face is visible, but when you can see her body, she wears a blue astronaut's uniform. She can appear on any of the many screens in the ship and will sometimes talk with a human while walking down a corridor, speaking over the PA and going from screen to screen like the paintings at Hogwarts.

Personality: To Aera, everything is numbers. (She's an AI, so this makes sense.) Extremely logical and a whiz at calculations, information recall, and simple decision-making, but can only understand human emotion as a series of quantified metrics (affection level, anger level, and so on). Might question orders if she determines that they're logically unsound or against the rules, but will never outright disobey. The team doesn't know this, and she may never tell them, but she'll sometimes run her own processes when they aren't telling her to do something else, considering what it might be like to be human.

Background: Aera, and the 99 other AERA-D4200 units like her, was created by a joint effort of the American, Chinese, Japanese, and Russian governments some nine years ago, at the very start of the planetary health crisis. Though there have been other similar AIs created since then, AERA-D4200s remain the most reliable for high-risk space missions, hence her being picked to go.

Open to shipping: Probably not...I mean, she's an AI...

Other: Every (not-so-)futuristic space crew's gotta have the trusty computer, right? ;)

Also, I forgot to mention: Aera, no matter how hard she tries, cannot understand the concept of rhetorical questions. It's too deeply ingrained into her programming that questions are made to be answered; if someone asks her a question, even if it's rhetorical, she'll answer as best she can, which can create some rather awkward social situations.

Name: Luna Bridgers
Age: 22! (I'll RP on her birthday, because birthday RPs are always fun.)
Gender: Woman
Job: Scientist
Appearance: Pale, clear skin. A small mouth and nose but big blue-grey eyes. A bit (but only a tad) shorter than average height, and slim, almost dainty. Whispy platinum blonde hair that goes down to her shoulder blades with a slight wave towards the bottom half, and she'll sometimes pull the sides back. Instead of wearing the serious space station uniform, she likes to wear fuzzy sweaters, jeggings, and a white lab coat. She also sometimes wears a Star Wars shirt like "Keep Calm and Han Shot First."
Personality: Funny, sarcastic, a nerd. Actually, a HUGE nerd. But she's also unbelievably smart. Based off of her appearance and personality, she may seem to only be a fan girl, but once she starts talking, you can tell she's a scientist.  (You know what, you can compare her personality and personality only to Frisco from the Flash) She's fairly likeable, though.
Background: Grew up with just her mom, her twin sister, and dog Caramel. They weren't the richest family, but more middle class, so her mom and sister supported her all the way but couldn't do too much to help her. But by the time she was in freshman, she was in advanced calculus and quantum physics.
Open to shipping: Yas.
Other: She loves tea.

(May 19, 2017 - 7:13 am)

We're starting!  I
know this is late, and I’m sorry!  I’m
also sorry if I was too OP with your charries.
I wanted to include everyone’s charrie (I may not include everyone in the following posts, however), and make sure that I interpreted
their personalities correctly.

Alice Kyline:

"Alice, Alice, we have a big problem!"

"How big?" I ask.

It's hard to imagine any problem bigger than the one we have
to find a solution to.  I never knew that
I was talented enough to save the world-or at least try. I have only been
working with the Planet Pioneers for a month now.  So far, we have found our planet to be used
by humans: P-486.  I’ve been working with
engineers, scientists....all so brilliant!
Yet, we are still far away from our goal of finding out how humans could
actually survive on P-486.

"Big!  There's
been a change of plans.  We're leaving in
one hour," the Planet Pioneer astronomer, Joey Thurner, says.

"What do you mean?
Leaving?" I ask

He sighs, as if the answer is right in front of me.

"The Planet Pioneers are scheduled to leave for P-486
in one hour.  Quite recently, scientists
have made some....observations."

"Leaving?  You mean,
like space leaving?  Going…away, away!"
I screech.

“Do you do anything else other than mumble?  Please, speak English!”

My senses pick up, and the words form from my mouth before I
can think them.

"We need more time!
We don't know if it's safe, food...water..ho-...WHAT KIND OF
OBSERVATIONS?" I say.

"Highly classified observations!  And, you don't have more time!  Get ready, you're leaving in one hour!"

The hour passes by me in a blur as I try to comprehend what
he said.  I realize that if I don't do
this, then the whole planet dies.  The
whole entire Earth.  Families, newborn
children, the elderly.  I know I have to
go.  I go to my bedroom to contemplate my
situation.

Eventually, Joey motions me out of my bedroom.

“You’re late.  They’re
all waiting for you.”

We rush out of the room, and outside.  Looming over me is a large spacecraft.  Planet
Pioneers
is spray-painted in bright, blue lettering.  The rocket has orange flames on its sides,
and a bright blue surface.  I meet all of
the Planet Pioneers inside.  They are
already strapped into their seats.

Everyone starts to speak as I sit down in a seat, and strap
myself in.  A spacesuit comes from the
top of the spaceship, and onto my body.
I find it surprising that it actually fits.

“A design of Tristan I’m assuming,” I joke, although there’s
nothing to joke about.

“I coded the ship for
the takeoff to our planet, and yes, Tristan did engineer that,” Lena states.

“Was I that late?”

Aera speaks, “You were 0 years, 0 months, 0 days, 0 hours, 5
minutes, and 33 seconds late.”

“Thanks you Aera.  You
never fail to answer a question truthfully, and without detail.  In fact, Aera’s way of telling the truth is
something most humans should have.  Imagine
it…” Luna wonders.

Finally, Joey yells at us to stop talking.

“We have everything, don’t worry.  With all of our talents, this trip will be a
piece of cake!  Did I let you all know I’m
coming with you?  Let’s see….we have
food, water, proper clothing…  Okay, we
are officially ready to go!”

Joey presses a button to signal the ship to go.  I anticipate the loud sounds the ship would
make, or a countdown.  I hear nothing.

“We haven’t moved the slightest!  I’ll go check with some staff about what’s
going on,” Joey says.

Joey gets out of the plane, and locks the door to make sure no one gets in. It makes me scared to see
something already went wrong.  Besides,
Joey is the only one on our team who really knows about space.  Not many people are astronomers.

Suddenly, a loud sound emerges from the plane.  Our team holds our breath as we hear a soft “10”
come out of the aircraft.

We all freeze!  Where
is Joey?

“9”

“8”

I listen for any banging on the window, or a scream of Joey
could make.  The numbers get louder and louder,
and it gets difficult to pick up the sounds.

“7”

“6”

“5”

What would happen without Joey?  No knows anything about space on board!  We all start screaming, yelling, and banging
the windows.  Some of us try to open the door, but Joey must've locked it from the wrong side.  A costly mistake!

“4”

“3”

I feel an urge to lunge at the control room buttons, and
start pressing them all at once.  I can
see the urge in almost everyone, but we all resist.  At least we’re smart enough to know that.

“2”

I remember Joey’s face; his curly hair, the outline of his
face, his piercing blue eyes…All falling away.
Someone must’ve heard these loud numbers!  Where is everyone?  It sends a cold feeling through my body to
think that no one cares enough to come and save us-or what if they can’t.  I see Joey’s face floating away from my very
own eyes, his features melting until there’s nothing left of him.  I feel the high-speed the spaceship is going
at before it chimes

“1”
