Chain Story!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Chain Story!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was icy on the planet Defriona. The majority surface was covered in glittering snow. The only signs of life were a few scattered white rabbits among the trees, and a small cottage on a southern field. The inhabitants of this lonely house were a girl, her twin brother, and their cat. This is where their story begins........

Great fun!!!

Holly plunged her fist into the skin of ice covering the water pail. The startling wetness drove her thick gloves and spread a chilling tingling thorugh her fingers, but Holly didn't mind. Heath always said she must be made of eternally un-melting ice.

"Hearth," she thought to herself, "I have to find him!" She tried to remember what he had told her before he had been taken, but it felt as if she were desperately grabbing at the air in hopes of catching a dissappearing cloud. How could she help her brother while her memory was slipping away so fast she could hardly rememeber her own name?

And her parents...or wait, she did have parents, right...or were they gone too? Holly felt a sudden, cold heaviness on the bottom of her skirt and she realized that she knocked over the pail of water. Quickly, she righted the bucket before it could all spill out; her thoughts as hazy and bitterly cold as the water before her.

"Why am I outside in the first place?" Holly wondered. The reason for retreaving the water had completely left her. Now she was standing there, in the cold, with no clue about what she should do next.

Holly sighed and stood up, holding the bucket of water. It had started about a month ago, when she saw a star fall from the sky and something happened. And her memory had only been getting worse.

Slowly, careful not to slosh the bucket of water, Holly started back to the house, wishing that Heath would be there to greet her. Heath...shooting stars...

A loud noise suddenly burst into existance; echoing across the sky in a vibration that rocked the frozen earth.

Something rocketed down from the clouds, streaking golden dust across the sky. It was incredibly bright, searing its image into Holly's eyes as it gained momentum. As Holly narrowed her eyes at it to look closer, she realized it was coming right for her.

Holly started and backed away, her tentative first steps turning into full on running as the golden THING grew bigger...and bigger...and bigger as it fell closer. There was a great woosh through the air; pushing Holly face-first into the snow. She could feel hot sparks and sizzling bits of metal raining down on her and falling, steaming, into the surrounding snow.

Holly streaked inside her house, tingling with excitement. "Heath," she breathlessly blurted. "There's a Star Child outside our own house!"  "Really?" Heath demanded, incredulous.

"StarChild" Heath breathed.

"StarChild?" Holly questioned. Heath sighed and turned, grabbed Holly's arm, and raced towards the sparking ball of light, nestled and crackling in the melting snow. Heath lightly touched the burning heap(which was surprisingly cool to the touch), and it slowly rose into the air, eye level with them.

A deep noise burst from the orb, vibrating through the ground. As the pitch and frequency fluctuated, the children grabbed their ears and the glass in the windows of their house tinkled to the ground. Finally, the whining evened out, saying in a high, child's voice: "Hello! My name is Ivien!"

A small boy appeared out of the lump of wrecked metal and looked around in awe. His dark eyes were opened wide, which triggered one thing in Holly's memory- this wasn't just any StarChild! If only she could remember what those dark eyes and dark hair, so rare on one of that kind.

The child was agape as he scanned the landscape. "So much for passing my Mercator test," he said at last.

Suddenly, with a loud "MROW!", Purvis the cat came hurtling out of the shattered window and flew towards Ivien.
